Hired to install dishwasher, which should take less than an hour for one person. They sent a older man and a trainee and it took them 2 1/2 hours, for which they proceeded to charge me $400. I sent them payment for one guy for the 2 1/2 hours with an explanation as to why (after multiple phone calls with them). When I never heard back and never received another bill, I assumed they agreed and the matter was closed. Well, fast forward 2 1/2 years later and we get a call from Neil from McKay saying that they're taking us to small claims court for the $133 we owe. I called to talk to him and was basically verbally assaulted. I was talked over, completely dismissed and told that I felt I was ""entitled"" and that was why I was refusing to pay. I asked him to email me an invoice and discovered that I'd also been being charged an interest fee each month for non-payment... conveniently stopping the next April, presumably because the outstanding balance was written off on taxes. I paid the bill but, at my husband's urging, called back to talk to someone about Neil's behavior. They apologized and I got the impression that this was not the first time they'd heard that. Bottom line, double check your bill and avoid Neil.

I had an emergency today when I woke up. I had no heat or hot water and it was freezing in my house. I texted my regular heating guy and got no response (until much later in the day); so needless to say, I started to make phone calls. I called at least 6 different companies and had no luck. Then I called McKay and man, I am so glad I did!! When I told them that I had no heat or hot water, they moved things around to make sure they got someone out here for me. I didn't catch the person's name that came out for me (I am going to call the office on Monday and find out who he was), but he was fabulous. He really knew his stuff and had my heat and hot water up and running in a little over 1/2 an hour. I was thrilled with their service and their knowledge and going forward, they are my new go to company for all my central A/C, Heating and plumbing needs. The old company that I was using, just lost my business. I was very impressed with McKay's quick response, and they made my day when they got my heat and hot water working again!! It's very cold outside and I couldn't imagine having to go over night without heat. We are in our 70's, so that would have been a very difficult thing to do. Thank you to everyone at McKay Plumbing for making my day and night much more pleasant. You guys are tops in my book!!

I came home to find my AC was not working and the house temperature was at 90°. I called 11 companies. Two guaranteed that they would either be here today or tomorrow. However Christine with McKay was more than accommodating and had a technician out here by the afternoon. Adam is a great guy and could've told me anything. He's an honest, upstanding gentleman.
I highly recommend them!

I had a difficult situation which required excavation as well as plumbing: A leak in the line from the watermain to my house. Old houses can be very tricky. After a bad experience with another company and two other plumbers who didn't even return my calls, Rick from McKay came out along with his excavating colleague. They listened carefully to the history of the situation, examined the site, and Rick put together a plan that will solve the problem plus save me some money. I'm very happy, and looking forward to having dependable water again - thank you, McKay Plumbing & Heating!

*** Update 6/25/22 - After coordination with the excavation team, work is finished, and I'm very happy with the repair. Rick and his staff were very responsive and helpful at each stage. Very reasonable cost, too. Highly recommend!

We've had great success with McKay on a number of projects. They are fast to respond to an initial inquiry and great about scheduling us in quickly even in a non-emergency situation. Their technicians are polite, conscientious about wearing masks, neat and knowledgeable. On our last visit, the technician not only fixed the problem we had called about, but noticed that the appliance had been improperly installed by the delivery company and fixed that as well. We're very pleased to have McKay in our rolodex.

Absolutely the worst service i have ever received. Came out and made things dramatically worse. Went from a clogged sink to a clogged sink with a new faucet that is now leaking. Came back a second time to tell me that the faucet they purchased and installed is my fault and that i broke it. Offered no repair. No help. Tried to charge me again. Will not recommend to anyone ever.

Just want everyone to know that Phil McKay and his staff to include Amy who helps you on the phone and Scott Doyle who did the plumbing at my home in Plymouth are the absolute best. They are so polite, respectful, and caring. Scott did a great job and I hope that people will contact Phil McKay for all their plumbing needs. They are really nice people. Thanks again.

Wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Plymouth has been dealing with CRAZY cold temps for weeks on end, and we had a pipe burst in our kitchen. All of the local plumbers are apparently crazy busy because NO ONE else called us back. Honestly, I'm glad they didn't, because these guys were amazing. Jim came out first and calmly and quickly helped us get things under control, then Tony came out, too, to help get anti-freeze in the system so it doesn't happen again. The price was incredibly reasonable and Jim double-checked everything before he left to make sure we were good to go. These guys are heroes, and totally stand-up dudes. We're so grateful they returned our call first!!

Very unprofessional. I called Phil McKay to have him look at some plumbing work I needed. When he came out he kept saying ""yikes"" over and over again. As a customer and a homeowner, who wants to hear that? He told me he would call first thing Monday morning. Come 2p I still didn't hear back. When I called he was rude and tried to push me away saying he was busy. When I asked for the estimate of my work he said ""I cannot give you and estimate, I would need to do the actual work to see how long it would take"" seriously? What kind of business do you run where you can't provide an estimate? I will not be calling Phil again.
