It’s evident that the well water and pump industry runs in John Matthesius' blood. Naturally that he would lead and manage McHenry Water Well & Pump. Raised into the business, his father owned McHenry County Well & Pump.

In his youth, John began helping out on job sites in ways which showed his interest in the industry. By the age of John could be found hauling containers of liquid to the well drillers with the team. He persisted to work for his family's enterprise throughout his secondary education in McHenry. In fact, John combined employment in the family business with schooling through a school-sponsored internship.

During John's studies Illinois State University, he focused on deepening his knowledge of the well and pump profession; he majored in earth sciences. This is because, geology is the study of the planet and its materials.

Upon completing his degree, equipped with a broader knowledge of geological formations, minerals, and water systems, John returned to the family business.

Driven by a deep community spirit, John has also volunteered as a firefighter with the Wonder Lake and McHenry fire departments. He is a trained paramedic and rescue diver, too. Moreover, he's a member of the Wonder Lake and McHenry Area business associations.

As a vested member of the local area, John's personal and business ethos reflect the appreciation he has for his neighbors throughout McHenry County. In John's words, ""Any job worth doing is worth doing right the first time."" Companies that take shortcuts usually receive calls later to return and address problems they caused in the beginning. Hopefully, they do.

John is committed behind the work he provides. However, there are numerous systems he installed more than 30 years ago that are continuing to run effectively today.
