DO NOT HIRE McHale's unless you want Shoddy, sloppy, negligent, and outrageously over-priced Bathroom remodel work by The Three Stooges. McHale's does not stick to the contract, they'll ruin your home, and several months later, your job still won't be completed because they move on to other jobs and leave you hanging, literally ghost you. I wish we had read these poor reviews before we made the BIGGEST MISTAKE OF OUR LIVES hiring them! Worst contractors ever! So much for McHale's caring about their reputation. They're absolutely terrible!

Our downstairs heat unit broke. Called these guys in apanic. They responded the same day And gave me 3 price options. I had other estimates. They were the most reasonable.
Gave them a deposit the next day. And the following day. I had a new heat system. They were there from 8 am till 4.30. By the end of the day my new heater was installed and working. The technicians Andrew ,Joe and Owen were great. Courteous. Prompt and efficient. I definitely recommend them. Thank you guys

Stay away from Mchale's in Levittown PA as their plumbing and HVAC techs make believe that something is wrong with your system so they could sell you a new system as they had some idiot named Beau who checked my furnace and he told me my heat exchanger was cracked so I asked him what tool did he use to determine my furnace was damaged and he couldn't give me a straight answer.I found out McHale's got bought out last year by a national firm called P1 and they have one of the worst reputations in the business so now it makes sense.........You are better off using any other plumbing or hvac company as Mchale's has crooks working there.....be aware of there SCAMS

They gave a quote for the worse case scenario which was extremely high for a blocked pipe below the kitchen sink. When it came to doing the work, two small pipes were changed and somehow the line was now clear. Unfortunately they never changed the price to a lesser amount. We were ripped off for $1200.00!!!

Don't ever use them. They charged me $225.10 to replace a 15 AMP breaker. That's not including the $69.00 service fee. Mind you, this was just to replace a bad breaker; no diagnostics or any troubleshooting.

I had a phantom flash on my toilet. I have used McHale's in the past, and they did well so I gave them a call. They came out the next day and tightened the on /off valve and said it was OK, but the toilet was old and down the pike I might want to consider replacing the seal. As I was going to move in two weeks, I said yeah probably not. 2 days later I had a very wet ceiling right below the toilet. I called McHales out again this time saying it was an emergency and Mike and his manager came out the next day. They said it was probably a broken seal and they can fix that as well as well as the ceiling below. They gave me two quotes one for just the plumbing and one for the restoration and plumbing. I told them I was going to go to my homeowners and Matt , the service manager tried hard to convincHe told me to just go through them and they could do it for $2600 and do it in 4 days I told him I would let them know., but probably would just do plumbing. They emailed me the 2 options is an an options to pay for them. My insurance company, New Jersey Manufacturers, had other ideas. They said out mammoth restoration who sole business is where the water was coming from and such and then drying/ replacing/restoring it back to normal. The only thing that is not covered is the plumbing. The person from Mammoth restorations asked if I could get the plumber to come out and seal/stop the valves from leaking. I called McHales back up and was basically refused service, and I don't know why. I did push back a little bit saying that I would pay what they quoted $649, immediately, but what I needed them to come out and stop the valves from leaking, which is the original reason why I had them in to begin with. Suddenly, the service manager didn't want to be bothered with me anymore. I tried one more time explaining the situation, and and they called backed today and said they would come out and fix it this little valve for $599.. I was shocked , as original quote, which included removing the toilet fixing the seal fixing the pipes fixing fixing the valve was $649. Now they're charging me $600 for just the valve. I repeated that to the young lady with a question in my voice and she said that's right, so I said, so what happens when I need the toilet removed and replaced inside and I was told that McHales would price that separately at a later date. I truly think they were taking advantage of a panicked 71 year-old woman. They knew there was a time frame that I had to get this done by. The service manager lied and said that their company could do everything, when in fact, they don't do drywall, they contract it out.
Last week when I first contacted McHale's I thought I finally found a plumber that I liked and I trusted. I payed for a Premier plan, which allowed me free service calls and I paid for it a year in advance.
Suddenly, when I really needed them, they were not very nice. I would stay away from them. They're out for the money only,. How do I know this? Because when the restoration company came in, they told me the floors with the whole upstairs was wet as was the cabinets and everything would have to be replaced. McHales did not even check that. Manager was going to do a snotty job quickly. They did not even think of checking how wet the floor and vanity was. I would stay away from this company. If they would take advantage of an elderly woman, who has to downsize because of money and who already spend a couple of thousand dollars fixing the place up for the new people that are buying the house, they would take advantage of anybody. I even gave them a second chance, and the manager did not even call. He had his his assistant/secretary call-and relay latest information. I wish there was some where I could report this company for taking advantage of the elderly.

My son needed a new hvac system for his house and me being the good Dad I thought I would help out and I made a huge mistake by using Mchale's as they did not know what they were doing as they installed the system on a Monday AND CAUSED A FLOOD IN MY HOME ON TUESDAY and a week later the system still did not work so they sent every technician they had to fix the unit and they could not figure out what to do!!!! Amazingly this is my third negative post since they destroyed my house and some how they deleted my other negative posts about all their screwups that's why they have a positive rating because they manipulate the reviews as they keep the good reviews and delete the bad ones.....please see Yelp as they cannot remove the bad reviews as in Yelp 90 percent of Mchale's reviews are BAD REVIEWS AND THAT'S THE TRUTH DON'T USE MCHALE'S UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY MORE AND DESTROY YOUR HOME AS THEY SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!!!!

TLDR: if they break it, you buy it, apparently even if you didn't sign the contract.

I've come to find out they are on the expensive side. They quoted me $17K-$20K for a Levittown Jubilee downstairs bathroom remodel. That's about $10K over what is the median. But hey, people pay.

I've used their services many times before. But I had a poor experience this time. The plumber; we'll call him K, was tasked to snake the drain in my shower. It was going down slow. The band aid fixes of Baking Soda and vinegar did the trick. But i wanted to put a stop to it for longer than a few weeks.

K, after 30 minutes of work, let me know that he had some bad news. He had punched a hole right through the bottom of the P-trap. Thus turning a $300 bill into several thousand. He apologized for breaking my drain and was quite understanding of my concerns.

K then tried to deceive me with the paperwork and what it meant if I signed. If I signed it would then make me liable for his negligence. Sorry Charlie, but I'm not signing that. He agreed with my assessment and left.

Now, This could be argued either way. You could say K didn't know the specifics of the contract and what he told me was an honest mistake. But his demeanor and expression said otherwise. The expediency of his acceptance of my refusal said volumes as well. He spoke directly to Beau McHale in his van after he left my home. I saw his caller ID on his iPhone.

then after 2 days and 2 more techs did a phone light inspection of the drain, they put me in contact with Tim McHale. Unfortunately, Mr. McHale didn't call me to have a conversation on how we could work together to come to an agreement. He called me to say ""not my problem."" He stonewalled the offer I made in good graces. I said I would cover materials, him, labor. I believed this to be fair considering the circumstances. Mr. McHale clearly thought otherwise.

I feel somewhat betrayed as well. I am a new homeowner, the big projects out of my scope were done by McHales. I was prepared to be a loyal customer for years. Heck, i was saving up that money for the bathroom remodel. All to burn the bridge instead of showing honestly and integrity. That's not the Navy way. Mr. McHale senior, a Navy man and the founder, surely wouldn't approve.

Client beware. Hand over fist expensive and you foot the bill for their negligence if you don't sign the contract. Find somewhere else for your home improvement needs.
