My pipes were all clogged and my children were on the way to visit for the first time since covid. It was a disaster. The McGuire plumbers came right away and were so kind and polite. I'm all set! Thank you so much.

Immediate service within just over an hour of us calling (and on a Sunday too!). All of our drains were backing up with sewage suddenly and we couldn't even use the toilets. The A Team (Sam & Bo) were not only helpful and efficient, but they were super friendly and got the clog out of our main septic line and installed a new, more accessible clean out in case this ever happens again. I highly recommend them!

Bo and Eric came out for an emergency plumbing call while we were having family over and had sewage coming up from the floor, shower, and toilet. Yuck. They were there when they said they would be and they were the only plumbers in the area able to come out same day. We have had a number of plumbing issues since we moved in a couple of weeks ago and having to deal with our home owners policy and home insurance has not been easy at all. I'm hoping my hwa will cover it, but at this point I'm just glad the problem is fixed. Thank you McGuires

I can't attest to the service, because after speaking with the rude receptionist, I cancelled everything. If the woman on the phone treated me like that, who's to say her service men wouldn't?

Let me break down what happened.

Due to this constant rain we've had in the past six months or more, our septic system got flooded with water, and a root, or branch is stuck in the pipe, so water has been pouring out of my daughters bathroom for a week. We've had to shut off the water to the house, and have someone come and pump our septic tank AGAIN, to get the water out. They couldn't see what was in the line, as they didn't have the equipment to do so, and gave me the number of a good Plumber who could.....

Well, that plumber has cancelled on me three days in a row, knowing we have no water.... Long story short, I started calling other places. This was he first one listed, but I had a walk in at the office, so asked my mom to call for me and see if she could set it up. She did, and they said it would be an emergency fee after 4:30, because that's when their business hours end... ok, whatever. I'll pay it. So they said someone would be out after 4:30. Ok, got it. My mom told them EVERYTHING and what they would need so they would be prepared. They then called me to say they were coming early, and could I come home. I said no, but I could get someone to be there if it was really necessary.

She said ""well, uhhh YEAH, how else are we supposed to get in the house to check your plumbing..."" I said ""Ma'am, it's the outside line to my septic tank, the lid is already off. We just need the plumber to come with his camera and see what's blocking it.""

She then responds with ""umm nobody told me this, and the crew I'm sending out doesn't have cameras. Plus, if they did come out with a camera, which we CAN do, it's gonna be a charge of $200 to bring the camera out to the property"".

I asked why, and she stated that it was a special piece of equipment, and it's not carried on normal trucks. Cool, I get it, but when my mom called, she told you WE NEEDED A CAMERA... She said ""No, she didn't, and our guys need to come asses the situation first, which is your emergency fee, THEN, if needed, we can bring someone out with one.""

I said no, we already had someone out, and they said we needed a camera.... She then huffs loudly and says ""Then what do you want me to do, cancel the service call?"" I said ""yes please. I'll find someone else.""

I won't ever use this company for the sheer fact of the rude receptionist who called me, and the astronomical fees they charge just to come out...

These people are dishonest, they sent men who didn't know what they were doing, and broke my heating system. You will be sorry if you use them! I would rate them a ""ZERO"" if they had one, so I'll give them 1 star regretfully.

After using different plumbers in Roanoke we came across McGuire's and have been loyal customers ever since. They are very responsive and have come through in our time of need. The plumbers are great and very professional. I would definitely recommend them. If ever in need CALL them...

I learned of this company from a coworker, I have an older home that is prone to leaks and clogged pipes. These folks come out when they say they will, and I find their prices very fair. I am not used to ever having any home repair for less than $100. They charge $70 for a service call, and if they get done quickly you will get a bill for $70.00. I have found them to work quickly as they seem to have a lot of calls to get on with.

They quoted me roughly $180 labor + parts for a 2-3 hour job. I'm posting this because I wish I'd seen something like this before contracting them. They did a great job, unfortuntely my dissapointment and I mean huge upset was with their slightly unethical handling of the labor. I was charged when the crew was supposed to arrive (they arrived an hour late). I was also charged labor for the crews lunch, etc. Roughly 3 hours of labor added to the 3 hours it actually took. I was charged a total of 6 hours of labor. Estimate was $180, invoice was $600. They are probably great people, but unfortunately I cannot justifiably recommend them. We were able to work it out, but just a heads up there are other reviews I'd wish I saw on Yelp that I didn't see until afterwards of the exact same thing on this very same company. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

They are very nice until you question them about the bill, and then the manager basically will start yelling at you.
I was charged an extra hour of labor for their travel time at $65/ hr. While I am willing to pay for the service mans time taking smoke breaks at my house while they are billing me for their time. I do not believe it is reasonable to bill me for their travel time to their job site to perform their job. They tried to convince me this is common practice and they've been doing this for 55 years and they only billed me for one way travel ( an hour to travel one way? seriously?)
