Be aware that this company bills for an apprentice when one is not needed. This was a routine pipe leaking and did not require 2 people and was not an emergency. The apprentice was of limited help and my husband was more helpful as he had to break through the ceiling before they would come back. If I knew the apprentice was going to get paid, I would have had him at least clean up the huge mess from all the plaster that we cleaned up ourselves! I was billed for 10 hours even though it took 5 hours. I had no idea I would have to pay for 2 people each! So if 2 people show up for a non-emergency than question if you will be paying for 2 people. Never needed a plumber before so this was a tough lesson to learn. I am finding, however, this is not common practice by all plumbers. The plumber himself did a satisfactory job so it is unfortunate I must write this review.

I have used McGrath for 25 years. They have done the plumbing in every house I have remodeled. Full service plumbing and heating. They always have creative solutions to problems and they know the code. They are always current on new products and will ensure you don't select a problem product. Ignore the bad reviews below. That does not represent this business at all. They come in the middle of the night for emergencies and are great around my kids.

I wouldn't use anyone else.

I have used McGrath Plumbing and Heating for years. They were always on time, always efficient, always cleaned up after themselves and always competitively priced. It was a rapid response to consultation for maintenance and I have referred them to friends and associates. On one particular day they were going into a holiday weekend and managed to push the job and get the equipment before the supply store closed. They had an electric hot water heater installed by 2 in the afternoon going into a holiday weekend, focusing on the fact that they did not want the customer without hot water over a three-day weekend.

I will never hire Mcgrath plumbing again. It was a horrible experience. His helper arrived and wanted to know where the boiler was? Really? I called to have a water pipe repaired/replaced. That was just the beginning. 4 hrs later and an incredible mess it was completed. He left the mess, didn't pick up after himself, left all the trash, bits and pieces of plaster, wet insulation, black soot, wet plastic on my carpet, and he left about ten feet of pieces of old pipe in my driveway. I called him after her left and asked him to come back & clean up the mess. I knew the water was running again but I didn't see the mess until after they left. They both came back and his helper angrily told me that I said I didn't want the mess cleaned up. They had an attitude like they're doing me a big favor. They left, didn't say goodbye as they slammed the door. Don't workers pick up after themselves when they complete a job in someone's home? He told me he will charge extra for clean up...really???? They have a horrible lazy attitude. I live alone and he was just taking advantage of me. I will never use this company again. He is very unprofessional
