Coming out of 'yelp retirement' again to give thumbs up to Bob and his mate, from McGough's.
The old (out of warranty) boiler burst at 7pm, I managed to turn off the gas and water and do some flood damage control. I called McGough's at 9 am on Christmas Eve (!), and Kelly at the office had Bob come around to quote.
$1,100 for a new 50 gallon gas-fired water heater INSTALLED.
Came back 30 mins with a new boiler, and by noon, all done.
Great service, 5 stars.

These guys have come to my rescue not once but twice! They came the same day I called and showed up on time! They explained what needed to be done in a professional manner and fixed everything perfectly!

The best part of this is that they are very reasonable, both times they sent 3 men out to fix my problems. I am very, very happy with their service!

The first time they came it was b/c our hot water heater was leaking. Bob and his co-worker came and were great. As far as replacing a hot water heater goes, pricing was better than others. They were fast and helpful. Gave me some tips for flushing my heating system when I mentioned I had been trying to do that [with the help of youtube] to see if air in the line was my heating problem. Great tip b/c our system was different than the ones on the videos I had watched.

Unfortunately flushing still didn't work so a few months later [now that it's cold] I just had them back. Again Bob was great: kind, helpful, shared some other maintenance tips, and the price was surprisingly low. All this and now we have heat on the second floor - yay! Highly recommend these guys!

We had a crack in our sewage pipe and we had McGough, as well as a couple of other plumbers, come out to give us an estimate. Their estimate was the lowest and they said they could fit us in the soonest of all the plumbers. They did excellent work. They were very nice and polite. They left our basement much cleaner than it was when they arrived. I would recommend this company to anyone.

We had a leaky pipe running from our upstairs sink through the walls into our downstairs. Not good. I called McGough Plumbing since we used them last year for our burst pipes over the horrendous winter. McGough Plumbing arrived on schedule, fixed the leak and went above and beyond because I asked if they could also install a faucet while they were there and they kindly obliged. Great service! Great prices! Very cool people! Highly recommended by this customer! :-)

Did not have a good experience with this company. Called these guys after having a drain blockage. They sent out two ruff looking guys that didn't even acknowledge me when I approached them in the basement. Even worse was the fact that they used my wet/dry vacuum without my permission to suck up all the water that was all over the floor. I thought that was extremely unprofessional. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

Recently I had a plumbing emergency at a 2 family rental property I own. I had to replace a boiler for an ederly tennant. The tennant needed the heat restored immediately due to a health condition. My regular plumber was busy at the time. I was referred to McGough Plumbing by a local plumbing supply vendor. I called Paul the owner and told him the situation.

They got the job completed immediately. Their price was competive. They were on time and professional. Not to mention very clean.

Everything about my experience working with McGough plumbing was excellent!

If you ever need a reliable plumber you can trust call these guys.

Very disappointing experience and bad ethics by owner Paul McGough.
Paul McGough has taken advantage of a senior VA widow who trusted his A+ rating and had him install a gas furnace, and waterless heater which he stated was available for the Gas Network Refund and that the model was an energy efficient which would help her out being on a fixed budget.
After having boiler and waterless tank installed in December 2013 for $11,500.00 , Paul refused to provide proper receipt and documentation showing model number which was assured to be a model eligible for the Gas Networks Rebate. After No response from Paul and his neglect to give proper documentation in July 2014 Gas Network came to my house and photograph the Model to bypass his neglect of giving me the model number and receipt needed to process the claim. A decision was made in August stating that the Model was Invalid and did not qualify. The install and equipment totaled to $11,500.00 and now is not even an accepted model .
Paul clearly had no intention of installing the proper equipment and lied to a susceptible senior VA widow ,who know has been duped of a rebate by this unethical man. Caveat Emptor !!! Buyer Beware..

Hands down the BEST plumbing service on the North Shore! They came through with a new hot water heater when the other three large chains couldn't be bothered!!! And even showed up in record time on a Sunday when we had another issue! I can't say enough about them! AWESOME!
