It looks that they inflate the final cost by charging by the time they """"work"""" on the job. They don't provide an estimate upfront so you don't know how much you pay. I will think twice before I hire them again.

I asked for another drain clean in the shower, they did it 2 weeks ago and is slow drain again. They charged me 144.00 for the service and wanted to charge me again. I used them in the past but this time they went over board with the service.

This has been our 'go to' plumbing company for years. Today determined our future plumbing company will be someone other then McGill. Our 5 year old water heater was replaced today. McGill is who we purchased it from, and who installed it. It already had to be serviced for a leak within the past 5 years. So today I was charged $145.00 an hour to install a new one, the same exact heater, which was on order because they no longer carried it, leading me to believe it was inferior to begin with. So yes, I understand it was under warranty, and I was not being charged for a new one, but the cost to install the same inferior item, without any regard for being a loyal customer, and an only 5 year old heater that already had to be serviced...I told myself that I would give them the opportunity to do the right thing, which should have been a discount of some kind, due to the fact the heater was only 5 years old, and had to be serviced within that 5 years, but they didn't. So my bill was $500.00+ today, and this ends our trust and confidence in this company.

Brett, their manager, refused to help fix a water softener that was installed improperly. Right after it was installed we knew it wasn't regenerating correctly and he refused to help us. Had this attitude of """"we don't make mistakes"""". Needless to say one night during a regeneration, because the pipe was slamming so bad, it came out of the wall and caused a lot of water in my laundry room, kitchen and garage. Brett refused to help because we didn't want to pay as this was an ongoing problem since installation. We spent over $1,000 on the softener and it never worked correctly. I have never dealt with someone like this and have never had a bad experience with any company ever. We asked to speak to someone else in upper management or the VP and he refused to let us. I have never experienced this before. He said the VP didn't have a phone? The owners should be aware of the poor customer service that is going on over there currently. We will not be using them again.

-5! Bar none the worse possible excuse for a PLUMBER anyone has ever experienced. They are all about collecting money and then it's one big JOKE. The field guys cannot read or write, so you then maybe think someone in the office could help them finish their paperwork..... No not possible 2 office girls one named Nikki BS artist refers to supervisor Brad who has had the task now for two weeks to write an invoice? So the entire company of field techs, office managers, and stupidvisors and between them all they are not able to write an invoice that has been paid for over two weeks!

Purchased a previous owned stainless steel sink and call McGill to install. Rick came out and told me I needed clips to hook it to the counter. Got the clips and called them out again he told me they were the wrong clips. Got new Kohler clips and called again. They are a plumbing company why they didn't have clips to install a sink is beyond me. Costos came out and told me """"I quit"""". He said the sink was to big for the original hole, and that the counter was rotted behind the faucet and told me that he couldn't drop the sink in. I got a bill for $175 for nothing being done. I called the office and talked to Brett who said sorry that there was nothing he could do. Rick never looked under the sink or measured the new sink to tell me it wouldn't fit. This company is a joke and a waste of anyones time. They are unprofessional and just give you the run around. This all took 3 weeks for me to find out that my sink wouldn't work for me. Rick should have told me that the first time. I will not be using them again nor recommend them to anyone. Professional plumbers? Don't waste your time with them.

Hired to do job for an emergency, and didn't go well. These peps should be reported to who ever over sees companies, other the BBB. If I know the rules and codes and laws about plumbing or HVAC then they should to. They have been around a long time. My father always said to use them. Not sure why but for us not a good experience. I feel betrayed, ripped off and just unhappy with the job. If a company does a poor , not meeting codes job, refuse to pay and call police to handle safely until you can fight in small claims court. So many bad issues came from our experience.

Our home was built in 1915, which means crawlspace and interestingly enough, through those many years, several different pipe materials. So, in looking about and doing my homework, with references, I settled on McGill to replumb under the home! (This was done after electrical rewiring and installing a new foundation) From the proposal by Ray to the work done by Joe, Kody and Steve and to the office support from Stacey and Jennifer, it was a slam dunk success! Communication every step of the way, descriptions and pictures of old pipes to be removed, hours to shut the system off, etc. It was done the way it was supposed to be done...prompt, personal and professional! Thanks McGill!!

I am the owner of Body Flow Wellness in Clearwater. This company did a great job with a complex installation of 2 colon hydrotherapy machines. John installed my first one back in 2017. Joe & Steve installed my most recent machine. They all did a great job, was very professional & courteous! I highly recommend this plumbing business.

Had McGill Plumbing come out at the end of Dec. 2017. They put in a new Nuvo home water system and replaced some faucets, with a bill at just under $3,000.00. We were satisfied with the work and continued to purchase the water filters from them (at a price of approx. $100.00 each), and had them do other work. As we remain in our apartment only 3-4 months of the year, we only needed to change the filter once a year, per their instruction. Upon our first replacement filter, we were advised McGill's no longer sold the Nuvo system they installed and any contact with the Nuvo company we needed to make, should be done by ourselves. My husband replaced the filter, which they still sold. In 2019 and 2020, we went to them again and replaced the filter for the second and third time. Upon returning in Jan. of 2021, we purchased another (the 4th) filter from them. Upon getting ready to replace the filter, the entire unit and all of the plumbing they had installed, had come loose from the drywall. They had merely anchored the entire unit, plumbing, etc. into the drywall with two screws placed into the drywall and through the 2018, 2019 and 2020 years, it had become loose and was merely hanging by the plastic plumbing pipes they had installed. If, due to the weight of the unit, the pipes had cracked or leaked, it would flood the apartments below us. My husband called them in January of 2021, and spoke with the manager Brett. It was explained we needed to have the unit reattached to the wall with a system that would not rely solely on a screw placed into some drywall, which after some limited use, became loose and ultimately, no longer held the unit to the wall. My husband suggested merely having a board attached to the wall, and the screws holding the heavy water system attached to the board. It would be minimally expensive and could be accomplished in probably a half an hour and ensure the system did not break the pipes and flood the unit and units below ours. Brett, the manager, advised my husband they would not stand behind the corrected installation because it had been done 3 years earlier. We agreed it had been installed 3 years earlier, but the attachment to the wall had created a major problem and could be easily fixed, and since we had spent almost 3 thousand dollars with McGill's on this single visit (albeit, with add'l faucets purchased and installed), that we would think they would want to come out and correct the faulty installation. Brett stated he would not stand behind the installation in any manner as it was done 3 years earlier. When asked to speak with the owner, Brett indicated he made all the decisions and there would be no purpose to speak with the owner. My husband let him know the initial installation had not been done correctly, and that was what needed correction. We had also previously suggested other people contact McGill's because we had previously used them and had been satisfied. Brett made it very clear, they would not attempt to correct the faulty installation. This is the first time I have EVER, in my lifetime, provided a negative evaluation of work done at a residence of mine, but I was very disappointed in the response, or lack thereof, that they wouldn't stand behind a sloppy installation and attach it correctly to the wall. Previously, all my interactions with them were fine, but this is poor management and gets a very low grade to ensure customer satisfaction regarding their poor workmanship!!
