I had a new boiler installed by Patrick McGar and his assistant. They removed the old boiler, hauled it away, and cleaned up after themselves. They did a great job installing the brand new boiler and made sure the work was done to my satisfaction before a snow storm hit my area that same day. I am truly thankful for Patrick's hard word and dedication. He is very pleasant, friendly and goes out of his way to make sure the client is happy and satisfied. His work is worth every penny spent. I would highly recommend McGar and Son Plumbing and Heating.

Patrick McGar is capable but expensive. He was responsive and showed up on the same day I called. He put a bandaid on my problem after a lot of time wasted mansplaining. I ultimately had to call in another company to get the repair done. I believe he could be a good plumber if he were not so hung up on maximizing his hourly rate.

Very professional small company. Retuned my call promptly, came to do an estimate and installed an inline shut-off valve in order to isolate the cause of the high pressure in my boiler system. This enabled him to determine (with a 24-hour test) that the indirect water heating tank had a bad internal coil and was corrupted, and the unit needed to be replaced. He sent me a work proposal, which I accepted, and within days came with the new tank and a helper for the installation, which they performed flawlessly. Since that was going so well, I also had them replace the outmoded Aquastat (boiler control box) with a new Digital model which works much better. They finished within 3 hours, the job was neat and well done, they took away the old tank, the packing materials for the new tank, and cleaned up after themselves, you would never know they had been there. Patrick is friendly, knowledgeable and responsive; a pleasure to deal with, Going forward I won't call anyone else for my heating or plumbing servicing.
