I gladly recommend McDermott with five stars. This week, the company came out when our washer's drain pipe was backing up and overflowing onto the basement floor. Another company had previously said our drain might ""have concrete in it"" and the floor needed to be completely broken up. That would have cost thousands of dollars. Michael from McDermott snaked the pipe and fixed it pronto, never suggesting ""concrete"" in the pipe. (He said it was just typical ""gunk."") McDermott is honest, reasonable and Michael is very nice and easy to work with (and he's a dog person, so our dog loved him!). McDermott also has installed a water heater for us in the past and took care of a leaky dishwasher.

We had a bad experience with this provider. There was a leak coming from the bathroom toilet dripping steadily into the kitchen. We contacted this provider from another online referral service. While prompt and outwardly professional, after a $99 service call charge and another $249 to reseat and secure the toilet, the leak stopped and we figured our problem was over. Two days later, the leak started again. We called McDermott Plumbing to set up a return visit. A day before he was scheduled to come out, I called to verify that we weren't going to be charged for another service call. Nah. This time it would be a $129 ""inspection fee"" which would be applied to any work that cost over $400. Not interested in this ""deal"", I canceled the 2nd appointment and called a handyman instead. The handyman pulled the toilet and found all McDermott Plumbing did was add more sealant to the existing sealant. He scraped it all up and bought a new extra-thick wax ring. This is was the kind of professionalism I had expected from McDermott Plumbing in the first place, but did not get. I would never use this provider again and do not recommend under any circumstances. Keep looking for somebody else.

Our water heater began leaking after only having it for three years. We called Michael at 5:00pm on a Friday and by 8:00pm on Saturday we had a state of the art tankless water heater installed and running. Michael clearly knows the products he is installing and walked my wife and I through what kind of maintenance we needed to do to ensure it lasts 20 plus years. Highly recommend McDermott Plumbing and if we ever need his services again we will defiantly be reaching out to him.

4 words. Honest and great work. Michael, the owner, and one other gentleman came out and replaced water meter for my irrigation system. They did a great job. While they were here I asked them to replaced toilet flapper valve and adjusted shower handle. They did it with smiles and only did what was necessary. Didn't try to sale stuff or want to replace any unnecessary things. Honest and good work. Guys, this is the plumber you want.
