For over a century, MB Haynes Corporation has provided services to Western North Carolina and the Upstate of South Carolina. I started my journey with MB Haynes in 1976. Initially, I worked a laborer in the general contracting division, then transitioned to an electrical helper, an electrical estimator, a security systems installer, a safety director, and a project manager. I progressed to divisional vice president, then divisional president, and have held the position of corporate president since 1992.

I actively participate in several boards, including the Better Business Bureau, the Council of Independent Business Owners, First Step Farm, and WCI.

I was the past chairman of the City of Asheville Planning and Zoning Commission and the Manufacturers Executive Association.

I like to spend my leisure time on golf, playing guitars, and working on home projects.

Haynes was controlling traffic on Edgewood Rd. in Asheville, and because their signs didn't inform an apartment building in the middle of their worksite, several cars were run off the road. When confronted, they gave people attitude, and even attempted to trespass someone off a public sidewalk. The most baffling part was how these people actually believed they could do this.

We needed a heating specialist to come out on a Saturday as steam radiators weren't working. The good- technician came, was pleasant, fixed problem by flushing radiator.

The bad: bill was for $314. plus for half an hour which seemed excessive to me.

When questioned, company representatives gave two explanations. the first that they bill driving time and all time at $150 an hour.

The second which seemed more logical in light of my bill- that they charge $189. to simply diagnose on a Saturday in addition to a minimum of $125 for a fix, plus tax so know that if you have Haynes come on a weekend the charges will be significant.

Twice now I have booked actual appointments with Haynes, have waited at my home all day and they never even called me. I am DONE with Haynes. They are AWFUL. I called them to ask if they were going to let me know their status, and the woman who answered sounded like she had woken up from a nap.

Do not use Haynes!!

Had the plumbers come out to replace a shower drain. They said they broke a part and did not carry it on the van. They left and came back over one hour later. I got charged $ 410.00 total . 3 hours labor at $115.00 per hour. They did stop water from going under the house. They left the drain raised in the center, now I have standing water in the shower. They did not clean anything and left a mess in the shower . My crawl door is removable , and I asked them to keep it closed so my cat and dog could not get in there. After they left I found they did not put the crawl door back , and my dog went under there and came out with muddy feet .

Okay. So we have lived in our new house now for about 2 years. Our furnace was making some popping noises and wasn't working correctly; kept turning itself off (even though the temperature was cold) and we couldn't figure out what was wrong on our own. The information stuck onto our furnace was that of White and Williams; Apparently they use to service our furnace with the prior owners, although the last service date was in 1997. We didn't actually think they'd still be in business, but alas, they were. Lucky us right? Haha. We should have read the Yelp reviews on them before we made the phone call, because they would've better prepared us on what to expect.

So we called White and Williams, and my husband was greeted with a female (I assume secretary) of the company. This woman was very rude, for absolutely no reason, and had a bad attitude towards my husband.
My husband is probably the nicest and most welcoming person I've ever met when talking to strangers. So I am very concerned when my husband hangs up the phone and says ""wow, that woman was a complete witch."" He might have used a different word, but you catch the drift. Lol. He also said that she quoted us $145 service fee just to come out and look at it; not including actually working on it, but 30 minutes of evaluating, then $105/hour beyond that.

So we said ""forget that,"" and he called the Company he was more familiar with from our previous houses: Haynes Heating and Cooling. Honestly, we should have just called them to begin with. Haynes was SUPER courteous and respectful on the phone, was able to come out and service us the same day, and after 1.5 hours of labor, they fixed the problem for $202 (all labor, no tax). A complete and thorough success. 5 stars, hands down.

I recommend this company 10 fold when needed help with your home furnace and/or cooling.

Beyond good.

After a logistical disaster with another HVAC company, I rang-up Haynes. From the first call to a follow-up visit )to put a better looking backplate behind a thermostat) Haynes did everything:

* Quickly
* Correctly
* In a profession and friendly manner

This job was a replacement of an outside (package) heat pump and AC unit. Not the biggest job, but not trivial either. Haynes advised me well on my options, provided a fair bid, got the work done right after the unit arrived, and got it right the first time.

Special nod to Mike Blalock who handled the sales and service in a spectacular way.

I have been a customer for 12 years, purchasing the annual service maintenance package every year. My old HVAC went out and they were quick in coming out and diagnosing the issue. That's where the good service ended. It was decided that I needed a new system but every step was delayed with a lack responsiveness or caring. It took 5 day to get them to order the new unit. Each step took numerous calls from me to get them to act. It took 13 days in January when it was as low as 9 for them to install the new system.I'm a senior. The final blow was they postponed installation by a day because it snowed for 20 minutes earlier that morning. The midday and afternoon was a sunny 43. They reported it took a day to install it. The next day it was installed in 3 1/2 hours. And they implied that I was not smart enough to figure out the new thermostat. I have a doctorate. Avoid this company at all costs.
As a PS the unit failed town inspection! Livid!
