The absolutely worse plumbing company I've had the displeasure of working with. Home serve needs to remove them off their contractors list so that other home owners don't go thru a bad experience. After plumber damaged my 6 year old delta kitchen faucet they refused to pay for a replacement.Before they came out I had a small drip coming from the spigot. when they left I had a dented and scratched up faucet with no hot water coming from it. The service manager didn't want to hear anything but for me to buy a new faucet so they could charge me to replace it.

2 guys showed up from Mayes to open a mainline in the basement. They were just outside the schedule window but text came thru w/ the update so that was great. They snaked the stack entrance & opened the clog. Took only about 30 mins as they had a big segmented snake w/ a 3"" cutter. They also used a sheath so the snake's slack wouldn't flail around when they have a whole section out of the back of the motor.
Guys were friendly but coulda been a tad more professional looking & conversationally. Guess they were comfortable w/ me as a rough guy but if I were a lil ole lady then I might say ""...well I never"" after some of their comments - LOL.

Overall, fast helpful & pretty prompt.

The guy flooded my basement without telling me then left, I saw the 2 inches of water standing in my basement after he drove off. I tried calling and got the answering service. The poor man was morbidly obese, I wouldn't mention this, but he couldn't carry a normal-size machine they have used in the past to fix the drain, he tried to use a handheld snake, I asked how far that would go and he said 8ft. He said he couldn't use the large snake because there was no backup. I went down to check on the progress (the cliche about plumbers and butt cracks rings true with this guy) and asked if he fixed it and he said his little snake got stuck. He came up a few minutes later and said he was going to call his boss, then drove off! He flooded it!!! I called Komar Plumbing and 2 guys came out with a snake machine and fixed the issue with no problem.

they came and installed a new water heater they left a mess water everywhere didn't even turn on the unit when they left. I called the owner he was super rude and even told me I was an idiot. I asked him to finish the job he was rude and told me to have another company come out and pretty much do it. so we did and they took the vent off they installed pulled out a little bird nest and now it works perfect. I was asked why they didn't inspect it before they installed it and just put on a new pipe when it was such an easy fix so beware of this company

Toilet clogged for 2nd time in a week. Second time was on a Friday evening and HomeServe was trying to find someone to come out on the weekend. The previous plumbing co., Geisel, would not come out even though they Unclogged it the first time, I only have one bathroom, only lasted a week! Mays was contacted Saturday morning and came out within several hours, thankfully!! They took care of the clog in a couple hours and determined the root cause of the problem. They called me a few days later and advised they were coming out to do a permanent fix by replacing clay pipe with vinyl to match up and avoid breaking clay causing clogs. I appreciate their ethic and so glad I have HomeServe, work costs nothing out of pocket.

After replacing our hot water tank,we had a gas leak.The technician did not bother securing gas connection to the hot water tank.
Very unprofessional on the phone & told me ""what do you want me to do about it""
Dominion fixed the leak & felt that the job done by Mayes & Sons was less than Amateur work.
I am glad the gas leak did not cause a problem,please avoid this company at all cost.

My water heater was 20+ years old and I noticed it was starting to leak and was all rusty on the top, as well as not putting enough hot water out for showers and baths. Mayes and Sons came to the rescue the same day and evaluated it, they were able to switch it out the next day! Super quick, super knowledgeable, and super friendly technicians! Thank you David and Mayes & Sons. Highly recommend!!!

We have HomeServe (best home investment) and we had Mayes & Sons come out for a backup in my kitchen. Colin was our guy, super professional and helpful. Called before he came and gave me an accurate ETA which I appreciate because I had to be to work after he left. Would I use again, definitely. Figured out my issue quickly and handled it with ease. I'm a happy camper with how easy it was.
