I think the other negative reviews here should tell you something about Maybruck. These people are TERRIBLE to deal with. Awful. Seriously. I've been trying to deal with Maybruck for some time now. Despite numerous calls and voicemails, they never call you back. Their customer service is awful. Next, we had them come to the house to repair a ductless heater. Their ""repair"" worked for about 2 hours. But of course, they made sure to charge me $225 for their ""work."" Second, after weeks of trying to get them back over to the house to ""re-fix"" the issue, not only did they refuse to come to the house unless they received a $130 ""appraisal"" fee, but, without telling me, they abruptly charged me an additional $225. After seeing these charges to my credit card, I then called and left several messages with Maybruck, and, not surprisingly, did not receive any calls back, until finally, on my 4th attempt I spoke with someone. Can't repair the problem initially and awful customer service, will never do business with these people again, and I would highly recommend that you do not either.
Dan Maybruck Plumbing was contracted by our gas company to install a high efficiency gas furnace in our home. It cost us over $10,000 and worked for one season before it displayed an error code and stopped working. When we called Maybruck Plumbing, we spoke to the owner who refused to even send someone out to look at it without being provided with a credit card in advance. When we disagreed that we should have to pay until they at least looked at it, he hung up on us. We later hired another plumber and had to pay a significant amount of money to have it repaired after being told that it was installed completely wrong which is why it stopped working. Further, when installing it, Maybruck Plumbing drilled through a joist in our floor to install the exhaust pipe and was later made to relocate it by the town's inspector, leaving the 9"" hole in the joist.
In addition to not knowing how to install a high efficiency boiler, they refused to correct their screw up and are rude. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
Derek F.Bad customer service, bad scheduling, and bad business practice. After having a furnace hot water heater and a gas fire place installed by one business I thought that you would develope a business and customer relationship. Was happy with all work that was done and Dan seemed like an up front guy. Now that I have spent my money the good service is gone. My furnace is leaking condensation inside so I called and told the woman on the phone that it's leaking and I believe it's the collector. So today a service tech.... came out and looked at it and told my wife yes it's leaking the collector is broken we will order the part. When I talked to my wife she told me and that she had to pay a 130 dollars for him to look at it? So I called to find out what service was performed for this amount. The woman said she would call back.....So when I had to call them back I was told it was a service call. I asked what service was done and they told me that he had to identify the furnace check that it's under warranty and call to order part. So my wife paid a 130 dollars and was told it would be about 200 when they fix it. I really appreciate not being told that we would have to pay just for the kid to look at it. I guess they have to make up for the warranty. I have since spoken with another hvac business and they knew over the phone what was wrong and they will come out look and fix then bill me. Just sucks it's about 15 degrees out and my 2 year old kids are paying for it. Thanks Dan, and I have called plenty of times to try and figure it out. My kids said you can keep the 130 dollars they don't need it.
Kevin R.we ttotally disagree with these reviews. We just moved into a beautiful contemporary on a pond in Plymouth. Unfortunately someone did not properly seal a sewage pipe and we had months of water leaking behind a wall and just noticed the smell. We called maybrook on Saturday. They came out yesterday and immediately detected what was perceived to be the problem. He determined it to be an emergency and rearranged schedule and arrived this morning and did an incredible job of located and fixing the problem. Neat holes were cut in the wall and advice was given as tools experts to call to clean up mold and prevent further growth. He was professional and incredibly concerned about damage to the walls etc and tried to contain it as much as possible. I think they are a very reputable company and would hire them in a minute as well as highly recommend them. I have owned many homes both residential primary and secondary on the cape and elsewhere . I am an attorney and certainly not in anyone's pocket haha. Plumbing problems... Call maybrook .
Ryan L.Dan and his team performed some HVAC services for my mother in law some time ago
The original purpose was to perform a duct cleaning and some other minor job. While there, he found out there was 'no filter' in her furnace. He replaced it with a reusable / cleanable electrostatic filter.
He never showed her how to remove it or clean the filter. He never even told her that had to be done.
With a quick shine of the flashlight, I discovered the 'missing' filter - It was sucked into the furnace just past the normal filter location. I'm not sure how this was missed with a full duct cleaning and service. This mistake likely reduce the life of her furnace. Dan and his team did not do their due dilgence on this.
Dan and his team did not take the time to train the homeowner proper maintenance and did not properly diagnose the problem. Cost also seemed very high for the work performed.
Joe B.My wife and I used Dan Maybruck Plumbing several times and always found them to provide excellent and reliable work at a fair price. Never tried to ""snow"" me into doing extra expensive work. Over time I found I could trust their recommendation of what work was needed, and what work I could put off. We all know how expensive it is to maintain a large home these days, and it is nice to be able to trust your tradesmen. Thank you Dan Maybruck.
Mike O.I called Dan Maybruck Plumbing & Heating for a simple repair. They were to replace the shut off valves for a basement washing machine and replace the tee on the same line as the shutoff. The pipes were fully exposed with no need to go behind any walls. Simple. I couldn't be there but somebody else was there to let them in. I had to give Maybruck my credit card number before they would agree to come to the house. I also provided my cell phone number in case they needed to reach me. I did not receive a receipt for the job until I requested one three weeks later after receiving my credit card statement with a $431 charge on it. When I called the Company to inquire why the charge was so high the only person who would talk to us was the person who answers the phones. She told us that it was their policy not to break down the cost for parts and labor and the $431 total that was on the invoice was a ""standard fee"". I feel that I was overcharged for a very simple procedure. What do you think?
In June of this year, I had 17 year old 40 gal gas hot water heater replaced with a Rennai R75 tankless hot water heater by Maybruck Plumbing. Dan's written proposal was one of three estimates I considered. His was the lowest estimate but that was not my only consideration. The plumbers showed up on the appointed date and time. They were friendly and professional. They removed the old heater, capped the old exhaust vent, and, after running new water lines, installed the Rennai in a new location in a very neat fashion. They cleaned up the area and the whole process took about a half a day. More recently, I had Maybruck replace a kitchen window, replace rotting exterior trim, etc which I would not have done if I didn't have confidence in this company.
I have had Dan Maybruck Plumbing do work for me before today, and I've always been most satisfied, but the worker who fixed the problem with my water heater was unbelievably good--easily the best service man I've encountered in the past 20 years, and I am not exaggerating! His name, Scott King, is appropriate; he is a king at what he does--at least in my book. What made him so good was not just that he showed up right on time, but that from the beginning of his stay he answered all my questions and seemed pleased that I was so interested in his work, unlike some plumbers and electricians who act as though it is an imposition to explain what they are doing.
He knew exactly what to do, and he solved the problem in a matter of minutes. But even after he had solved the problem he continued to trouble-shoot the system to see if there were any other problems that might crop up in the future. And he did discover that the TACO box, which supplies power to the thermostat, was only putting out about 75% of the voltage it should provide. He cautioned that it might need to be replaced, but not at the moment. I was most appreciative of his going well beyond what most workers do, and the clarity and precision of his explanations. Many workers are unwilling to explain technical matters or unable to explain them in a way that a homeowner can readily understand. In contrast, Scott King is amazing--a credit to his profession and to the company that employs him.
He even went further--to explain the need to service my Munchkin boiler periodically, so that the stainless steel boiler will not be damaged by the byproducts of combustion that build up over time. When we return from Nova Scotia in the fall I will certainly have the unit serviced. And again, his going into detail about the reason for periodic servicing, made me trust what he recommended.
All in all, amid the hectic packing for Canada, this was perfect example of how important great technicians are to a homeowner. Thank you Scott.
Chrissie G.I have only lived in the Plymouth area a short time so when I realized we needed a plumbing contractor I had to go to the yellow pages to find one. This made me nervous but I had no other options. From the moment the phone was answered I felt comfortable with this business. They were able to send a plumber to come and help me that very day, and he showed up in a timely manner. The plumber was courteous and informative and had the issue fixed within a couple of hours. I was given the option to purchase a lifetime service plan which gave me a discount for my bill that day and for all other plumbing bills in the future! I feel the price was fair and everyone I spoke with was honest and took pride in the company. This was a great experience and I will recommend this plumbing and heating company to anyone who asks me!! Thank you Maybruck!
