Max came out on a Sunday to help us out with a clogged drain, he was very easy to work with and professional. I really appreciate his responsiveness and willingness to help us out on short notice.

Maximus 'sort of' did a small bathroom remodel back in 2018 for the master bathroom in my Condo. I chose him because of a reference from another coworker, and the fact that he showed up on time for the quote process.

Most of the experience was quite poor.
CONS:
1) Early on, there were some major issues with getting the proper 'pre-fab' wall kits.
-- Long story short here, the wall kit that was initially ordered from Meyer's at Max's request could not fit into the bathroom. While Max did eat the cost for this, it was something that soured the project early on.
2) A younger, lower-skilled man was utilized for most of the non-plumbing work. While he had good intentions, he clearly didn't have the requisite experience or skills to do a professional job.
-- The common Home Depot ""dreamline"" shower kit was foreign to him. After installation it bowed when leaning against it.
-- The shower floor should have been reinforced prior to installing the shower pan. A point I wasn't aware of until later...
3) After asking Max if he was going to install the dreamline shower door (again a common model from Home Depot), he got frustrated started to raise his voice while making claims about ""being disrespected"". He was reading the directions and thinking about them as if he'd never done something like that before.
-- Eventually he got so irritated that he started raising his voice even further such that my fiance had to come upstairs into our bedroom to see what was happening.
-- Within a few minutes, Max simply quit the job without putting on the shower door. He kept his deposit, but didn't charge me anything else. I installed the door the following weekend.

*THE BIG DEAL: a couple of weeks later, after I was about 5 minutes into a shower, my fiance started yelling at me ""TURN OFF THE WATER!"". I walked downstairs to see the ceiling saturated in water and leaking down onto the floor. Turns out the floor really should have been reinforced because the shower basin was leaking around the drain pipe.

I ended up spending the next 3 months tearing that bathroom apart and working with another contractor to fix it.

PROS:
1) From my experience, Max did do good 'plumbing' work. His work with the water pipes and faucet was solid.

I give 2 stars instead of 1 only because of Max's ability as a plumber.

Charged us $285 to assess our problem, then missed the next appointment and quit returning our calls. We had a serious plumbing issue and had to wait for another plumbing company to make room in their schedule after dealing with waiting on this one. Can't say I would recommend.

My water heater broke down and started to flood the garage. I found Maximus Plumbing on Thumbtack where they had over 100 five star reviews and listed as a top pro. Max came by quickly with a free estimate several hundred dollars lower than another bid. The installation of the new water heater was done promptly and professionally. I highly recommend Maximus for all of your plumbing services!

I came home last night to discover my home's furnace was blowing cold air, and could not be turned off. Searching Google and Yelp for an emergency 24/7 heater tech yielded tons of results from businesses *claiming* to offer emergency 24/7 service, but Max was the only one who actually called me back in the middle of the night.

He got to my home within a few hours of our phone conversation, and now the heat is on and my mom isn't in danger of freezing.

Max was fantastic - he was extremely responsive, on time, and communicative with me during the entire process. We had our furnace break at a rental property and while others were charging $100-150 to even come out to diagnose the problem, Max came and didn't charge us anything. In the end, the furnace started working again but I really appreciated his attitude through it all.

We would definitely recommend him again!!

Fixed our furnace. Knew exactly what was needed. Was very professional and thorough. I always prefer to work with someone who has their own business versus a larger firm as I believe there is more vested interest in a satisfied customer. I will definitely use Max again whenever needed. Very fair and reasonable. Highly recommended.

The quality of work was OK, the guy worked quickly, but the price was very high for the work that he did. Also I did not care for his attitude. Had no manners, was very unhappy when I asked him to take off his shoes inside of my house, did not want to explain what the problem with my pipe was, just threw a few short words and left. Really? is that a service that I get for $600 that I paid? This is really a one stat review, I just don't like giving bad reviews to small businesses.

On 8/26/2018 we contacted this company for a emergency blockage. He ran a cable through our line and cleaned out blockage, 15 feet. I paid $525 for this.

He advised me he was going to return and run a camera to locate the problem. I contacted him via text message (saved snap shot photos) and he never came by to run the camera. I contacted him multiple times and he stated he would come by on different dates. Each date he provided he NEVER came by. I never got a diagnostic of what the issue was and clearly feel like I got taken advantage of being desperate for the weekend and a woman. With all the five star rating you would think customer service would be prestige.
