Maverick wanted to charge $49 to make a sales call. I sent a detailed description with wiring schematics and photos to multiple electricians - to SAVE THEM time and money. Everyone wanted to bid on the job. And they all offered to come onsite at no charge (of course!) - all of them except Maverick.

Maverick asked me to pay them a sales quote. Unlike most companies, Maverick offered to schedule a billable appointment ($49) so one of their technicians could give me a proposal!

With so many good electricians interested in this job, I think I'll take that $49 and pay it as a tip to someone whose earned it.

DO NOT CONTACT for service, they will bombard you with texts and calls at all hours of the day. Even after you ask them to remove you. They texted me at 6:54am, I responded to remove me from their lists, then I received a call from them a few days later asking if I needed service. Cold calling before 8am is illegal. The Telephone Consumer Protection Act prohibits businesses from sending SMS marketing texts before 8am

Arrived when promised, did a quick diagnosis and a fast repair. When the repair time came in faster than their estimate they gave me a discount on the estimated cost.

All the plugs and lights in my master suite went out. When I checked the circuit breakers, I found one was off. I tried over and over to turn it back on but it would not stay on.

I called Maverick Electric the next morning and they dispatched Ace Saavedra to my home. Ace was thorough and careful and found the problem after a significant amount of testing. Once the problem was discovered, he repaired the short and put everything back the way it was. He knew what he was doing at every step of the way and was courteous and professional.

Given the amount of work that Ace did, the price was extremely fair. I strongly recommend this company. Their staff, including the reception staff and the technicians are outstanding. I will never look any further than Maverick Electric, Heating and Air for electrician services in the future.

Local radio is inundated by ""what would a Maverick do"" ads - overly emotional stories of mavericks in other lines of work like being an astronaut. I wish I was kidding but this HVAC company puts these out. So, when I needed service on an item in their area I did not even seek them out...but Yelp put them on one of my quote requests. They then responded that they don't do this service (a very common thing I was seeking). What a waste of my time. I guess that's what a Maverick does.

UPDATE: This company's radio commercials are still going strong, still sappy, still over-the-top. I had to update this review because of their latest commercial regarding their generator installs...""we don't just install generators, we TEACH generator install."" You can't make this up. I have never seen a company whose advertising is so pervasive - and yet so far from the reality of what they actually deliver.

Wish I had read more of these reviews prior to having this company out. We had a beeping smoke detector high on our 20' ceiling. My husband just got out of the hospital and could not climb ladder to replace the battery. Called Maverick based on their radio ads and the fact that they were less than a mile from our house. Told the rep we either needed battery replacement or perhaps a new smoke detector with 10 year battery (saw them for $20 at Home Depot). She said service call would be around $45. She said cost would be dependent on how much the smoke detector was; they had several to choose from. Rep arrived. Nice enough. Without even looking at smoke detector he said included in service call is for them to inspect breaker box to be sure everything running ok. Came back in with 'quote.' It would be $2,000 to replace breaker/breaker box because it was over 10 years old and then they could give me a 'deal' on the smoke detector (note that everything was running perfectly and why would anyone replace ALL of the breakers??). If we just went with the smoke detector it would be over $500 (!!!!!). OR option 3 was service call for $45. I paid the $45 and was done with this company! So outrageous. Had another electrical company (Precision Electric in Grass Valley) do the same exact job for less than $100 including the cost of smoke detector and changing a bunch of light bulbs for us). So if you ask, like their radio spot, ""What Would Maverick Do?"" He would RUN LIKE HELL and hire someone else! Total scam and waste of a hard earned $45 at the holiday season when it is much needed.

I highly recommend Maverick Electric, Heating, & Air. I recently replaced the siding on my duplex with fiber cement, and needed to move some electrical wires attached to the exterior of my home in a rush. I contacted Maverick Electric, and Joseph came out the next day. He actively listened to what I wanted, gave recommendations, and explained how he would move the exterior electrical wires so they would not be visible on the new siding. He also offered to move the grounding rods to avoid being a trip hazard, and provided a reasonable price for each service. I cannot thank Joseph, and Maverick Electric enough for their prompt service and reasonable prices.

I was due for a regular heating and air maintenance. My regular technician Jeff came out to inspect my unit and made sure it was fully operational and clean. Jeff made suggestions for future repairs that may come up due to normal wear and tear. As per usual he was there on time and I got several texts in advance to let me know when he was arriving. After going over the system performance report he was off to his next appointment. Maverick always has fast efficient professional nice technicians that are knowledgeable and reliable. I can't be more happier with their service and I recommend them to all my neighbors, family, and friends.

I DON'T recommend Maverick Electric.

When we called for a partial power outage in the building, Maverick electric was quick in its responses. However, it lack the knowledge for electrical diagnoses and repairs. Its electrician could not find a break in the power and blame fault on a circuit breaker. He replaced a breaker. We paid over $800 for diagnostic and an old breaker replacement. He then went on to blame a light and quote us for a ridiculous price in the thousands. He could not fix our power outage while charged a bunch of ridiculous fees. We had to contact another electrical company. They came and restored power back with a fraction of what Maverick quoted.

I called three other Electrical company's on Monday and Maverick was the only company to schedule an appointment for me the following day Tuesday between 8:00 am and 11:00 am. We got a call from their technician Nathan Alexander a few minutes after 8:00 am and said he was in route to our home in Carmichael. Nathan Alexander was knowledgeable, thorough, and was able to troubleshoot our concern very quickly. I have to mention we had another Electrician come out about two weeks ago and he did not figure out why our seven front pillar light weren't working. I can recommend the outstanding service we received from Maverick Electric and from Nathan Alexander.
