Recommended Customer Reviews

As a few others have stated, the appointment for the initial estimate, for the reviewer to go over the project, went great. He was very friendly, on time, and professional. However, the followup has been very odd, as I waited over a month for them to e-mail me a complete detailed list of what they would be doing and how much it would cost. But I still have not heard back from the office, even after multiple e-mails inquiring what is going on. The least they could do was say, that they were busy, and could not take on my project, instead of wasting my time, when I could have been looking for other contractors.

Called and left a message for cabinetry work. Called me back and requested photos for the work I needed done. Sent the photos and after a week still no response about the work. Service woman butt dialed me and when I called back she acknowledged receiving my photos. She said she would get back to me and a week later I still have not received a quote.

have to update my review of this company. We have contracted with their services for several years and their work was always very good. As recently as 2 months ago Richard completed a multi day job, we were very pleased with the results.
A week ago I called the office and asked if Richard was available to stop by to look at a stuck window. I knew calling 1 week out might be a challenge but Dorothy said Richard would be able to stop by around 5:00pm. We've been waiting almost an hour, no call, no-show. After leaving several messages, the owner's wife called me back, they did not have a record of this job. We are disappointed that the office staff scheduled this job without informing Richard- will need to look elsewhere. I would have rather been told there was no availability when I first called than to be told Richard would come check out the problem, and then not be scheduled.
We have contracted with Richard for various work that our home needed. We first used his services almost 9 years ago when our bathrooms were in need of a paint job. He recommended paint that would inhibit mold and it's been perfect ever since.
We recently asked Richard to complete work that we had been thinking about for months:
1. remove kitchen cabinets over our kitchen sink (he actually took the old cabinets and made a new one where a gap had been.
2. removed ceiling hooks a previous owner had put up.
3. painted all 3 bathrooms
4. installed new bathroom hardware
5. installed a countertop cutting board in the kitchen
6. removed, sanded and painted an in-cabinet lazy susan which now looks brand new
6. removed 2 very large bathroom mirrors and replaced with smaller ones. The entire project took 3 full day visits. He spends the time and offers suggestions.
Dorothy, the office assistant gets back to you, either by phone or email.

I used Handyman Elite for a faucet repair. I called, got an appointment, he showed up on time, was courteous and got the job done although a bit pricey. The reason for the 2 stars is because i had asked for a quote on follow up jobs. I called back at least 5x for those estimates. And each time it was ""he'll try and get that to you tomorrow"". Or he's working on them tonight..been really busy in the field. I understand having been short staffed but if you make a commitment please follow through with it. It's poor customer service and a practice that will distinct yourself from people who would have been a loyal customer. 2 and 1/2 weeks later and I still haven't received the quote. Honestly - if you're looking for handyman services go somewhere else. For the cost and follow through - it's not worth it.

Found through Yelp. The office rep Dorothy was great with scheduling and even called when she had an earlier cancellation. On Feb 24 (Friday) the owner Richard came with an employee to do an estimate on multiple straightforward electrical projects in my condo. He then said to call after the weekend if I hadn't received the estimate by email yet. Later that day I called the owner's cell listed on the business card and left a voicemail to add a small detail to the estimate. No call back. Then a week later I called the office and left a voicemail asking about the estimate. No call back again. Another week later I called and got ahold of Dorothy in the office, she apologized and said to give her a few hours to get the estimate to me via email. Never received any estimate. Through the next week or so I called the office twice and left 2 voicemails. To date, it is April 7th and I have had zero response from Handyman-Elite since their visit to my condo, despite my 5 call attempts. As a new homeowner with a small condo, I'm quickly learning that ghosting is a standard practice when technicians think your job is too small, but I'm surprised given that Handyman-Elite is a small local business and advertises for jobs of all sizes.

Fast response to my request, resonable estimate, accommodating and customer oriented. Arrived on time, clear explanation on the scope of work, and have the work done beyond my expectation. I am so glad that there's such a professional, knowledgeable, and well organized handyman in my neighborhood. Definitely will use them again when needed!

I hired the owner, Richard Dickinson, on March 9, 2016 to do three separate jobs for me at my residence in San Leandro. I had no problem making this decision since I used Richard before back in 2012 to install a complete Home Video Security system at my residence including having all cabling done throughout the attic and installing electrical boxes in the attic for power for the system. He did a great job then and everything has been working excellent since the installation. This time I needed a ceiling fan in the kitchen swapped out for a newer model, a new front door Lockset installed, and a front porch light housing replaced. I was told Richard would be at my place by 2:30pm to start. I received a phone call from his office earlier in the day to see if he could come by and start at Noon. How many times does that happen that a repairman is early for an appointment!!!! All three jobs were completed in a timely manner and with a professional installation. He will be returning soon to do another Large ceiling fan installation in my Master Bedroom for which he has already given me a great estimate for. this is the company you want to hire if you have trouble trusting people working on your property. Richard is trustworthy and a total professional at what he does. He has ALWAYS billed me LESS THAN what was listed on his ""hourly rates chart"". Look no further for Handyman Services, this is the place!!!!

Late for first appointment at 3pm -called office to learn 4pm. Thought best to reschedule because dark around 5pm. Late again for 2nd appointment at 1:30p, called office, told 2:30p but Richard arrived 2:50p. Contrary to positive reviews on Yelp
Richard said he will have office schedule in more time between jobs to allow on-time arrival.
Once Richard got here, he was terrific, understood what needed to be done with reattaching loose gutter on our house. Checked all the gutters, new bolts on any areas needing reattaching. Same for a loose cable bracket on front of garage. He was done in an hour. We used the discount coupon - great value. We would like to use his services again.

Richard Dickinson and another person came on time and worked on sealing the attick for 1.5 hours. Upon completion of the job, they showed me pictures before and after the work was done.

Richard and crew are hardworking and conscientious. In addition to doing a good work on the various residential jobs we had (two pocket doors, stairway handrail, and ceiling lights), they were prompt, polite and pleasant. They gave me a great price estimate, described exactly what they planned to do and then did what they said they would do. We liked all three men that worked at our house and intend to ask them for estimates on several other projects in the future.
