Guess I should have read the reviews before wasting a weekday to have Matz come to my house to give me a bid on complete hvac redo. This would be 40,000 to $50,000 job. When i called to ask if they could send someone a little more experienced than a guy who had previously worked as a server at Buffalo Wild Wings, the GM just got caustic with me. I explained I didn't want to waste my time or there's and just wanted someone experienced enough to solve a real problem with the current install. He basically seemed to say he was retiring in 2 years and didn't need anyone questioning how he did what he did and that it is ""impossible to hire people"". Oh well. The owners should make note of the loss in business. Could have been handled so much better and made a customer for life rather that get another negative review. Why not just say let my 'wings server' make notes and then I'll send the best guy to look at that situation, instead of treating my question as an assault on his whatever. Oh well. Don't think a negative (and seemingly bitter) service company in my life.

My contracting corporation used Matz Rightway to replace a geo thermal heat pump in a customer's home. Right from the beginning, that installation did not perform correctly. As the low voltage portion of the system was not part part of the contract with Matz, my company installed Nest E thermostats to replace the existing non-WIFI stats. As close-up photos show, the Nest stats were wired exactly as the existing stats. The customer moved in at the end of the summer season and the cooling portion was put to the test and did not work well. When we called Matz back to figure out the problem, they stated that the Nest stats would not work with the existing zone panel. They were then paid to replace the zone panel with one that they said would work with the Nests. As the temps got colder, we realized that the heat pump was not able to maintain a 70 target temp and the auxiliary heat was not being utilized. Matz was called back. They blamed it on the Nests and refused to fix it. My company had to spend a great deal of time debugging the problem and eventually learned that the new zone panel was wired incorrectly. We presented this fact to Matz and they beligerently continued to blame it on the Nests. My company wired the zone panel correctly and configured the Nests such that the auxiliary heat would work in tandem with the heat pump, as it was always supposed to do. After doing this, we showed Matz with clear historical run-time data how the heat pump was still not strong enough to heat the home even when the outside temp was 45-50 degrees. Matz refused to come back and fix the system they installed, and again blamed it on the Nest. Completely bizarre behaviour. Matz never properly tested their original install, because if they had, they would have found that the existing stats could not have cooled properly nor would they have utilized the auxiliary heat. We showed them close-up photos of how the original zone panel was wired and how they wired the new zone panel. Those photos proved that neither job was wired correctly. Matz was incapable of doing their job and tried very hard to blame everyone else. We will never use them again and neither should you.

I am a recent homeowner in Southhampton. My heating unit was making noise and this company was highly recommended. The worker came to my house . Of course the unit didn't make the noise while he was there but he said I needed a new connector. I got the connector ( which I am not really sure was critical) , paid for the service and signed for a one year maintenance agreement. Shortly after he left , the noise started. I recorded it and sent it to the office. They thought it might be the blades and agreed to send someone back the next day. The same person came back was there for 5 minutes and said there was nothing that could be done , this is a noise caused by defrost , charged for the service call and left. I called the owner to express my disappointment and frustration about being charged when literally nothing was done. Was told the only option was to consider buying a new unit, if I did they would reimburse for the two service calls. I called another company that came this past weekend- the worker spent fifteen minutes outside and fixed the unit- the pipes were rubbing each other creating the reverberation and rattling noise. Fixed in no time.

We manage a good sized office building in the Port Jefferson area and recently decided to replace the remaining 6 heaters since the remaining 3 had been replaced more recently. Keith and his crew worked around the schedules of our tenants and installed those last 6 heaters in less time than originally projected. They worked cleanly and their crew was very polite and respectful of our tenants and their guests. I would not hesitate to recommend them for your projects and more importantly I will use them for any projects we have in the future.

They are very rude and totally unconcerned with customers - had them put in AC and then two years later when AC stopped working on 90 degree Thursday I called and was told they would not send someone for two weeks . I called another company who came immediately and saved the day Avoid them!!!

The biggest mistake when renovating a home we purchased was hiring Matz-Rightway in December. We paid to have two new systems put in, both with UV lights and one with a humidifier. All was fine until we switched to AC in the spring. They never installed a drain for the condensation and flooded and ruined our home. Thankfully our and their insurance is rectifying that. When they came to install the drain they then broke a coil in the unit and it stopped functioning. They then sent their ""top guy"" to repair it. It worked for a week and broke down again. They made all sorts of promises through their new manager Keith, but did nothing to follow through. We will now have the systems ripped out and redone by a company that knows what they are doing. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Doesn't keep appointments unless your a contract holder. How do you expect to get customers like this!!
Made an appointment weeks ago before the heat came, now because of other people issues my appointment gets changed. I don't want to have an emergency that's why I made an appointment. Horrible way to do business. All customers are important not just contract holders.

i 'was' using them for years in montauk... they #FFXY^%D... they wanted $1325 'per unit' to detect a leak (2units leaking freon)... my local huntington guy charges 150/200 bucks per unit... will never use them again
