Recommended Customer Reviews
I had a repair that was completed by Matt's Plumbing. Their plumber was excellent and went well above and beyond to make sure that this was an excellent experience. Unfortunately it was marred by the fact that American Home Shield was also involved in the repair. Despite AHS doing everything in their power to make this as unpleasant as possible, the people at Matt's left me feeling very positive about the whole experience. I would recommend Matt's to anyone. I would not recommend AHS to anyone.
Benjamin P.Getting a call back after leaving a message 3 times still hasn't happened. Missed my scheduled appointment they said they would come back later that day and never did so I took off for no reason. I don't know how this is even a business with customer service this poor.
Unfortunately trying to get return phone calls back from ahs and Matt's plumbing has been a challenge. We continue to get different stories from ahs and no return calls from Matt's plumbing. Bigger problems in the world but avoid at all costs.
The main drain In my home became clogged which caused the toilets, bathtubs and sinks to backup into my home. My home warranty company assigned my case to Matt's. Monica in the office called me very quickly and moved heaven and Earth to get a technician out to my home right away because our water was shut off to avoid further flooding. Within a few hours, technician/ plumbing wizard, Daniel arrived and he quickly set about assessing my issues in formulating a plan of action. He was polite and informative. He was not condescending (even though i followed him around asked him a million questions). He was very kind and careful to explain to me exactly what was covered under my home warranty and what was not. For the uncovered items, they gave me a very reasonable estimate and he was able to repair everything today. Even though my issues were complicated and frustrating, he never lost his cool. He was very calm and methodical. His grasp of plumbing and the way it works and his expert knowledge of his craft made me feel so at ease. Knowing that I had someone not who just knows how to fix things, but who likes to understand how they work and why something is happening. He was sweet to my dogs and respectful of my home and belongings. He didn't judge me because my kitchen was dirty and my house needed to be cleaned. It never fails that these inconvenient things never happen when your house is ready for company. Plumbing problems, backed up toilets, and sink stoppages are always inconvenient and they're always annoying.... and you never are prepared to spend money on them unexpectedly. But my experience with Monica & Daniel at Matt's Plumbing made the whole experience far less stressful then it would have been. And I'm very grateful for that. I can say without hesitation that I would recommend Matt's plumbing to anybody in the greater Tampa Bay area who needs a quality job done at a fair price
Nita D.Purchased my home 3 months ago and have American Home Shield Warranty. My Water Heater died while we had guests staying with us. AHS Warranty put me in contact with Matt's Plumbing. They came out right away even though they were busy because I told them we had guests from out of town. Jake showed up within an hour of my call. He explained that my heater needed replacing and that some of the pipes were not compliant and some other issues. He also prepared me that he had to get approval from AHS and they may not cover everything depending on my contract. He was very thorough with everything. We left him alone while we went on our boat excursion and Jake texted us the finished product showing it was completed. He is definitely an asset to Matt's Plumbing and it says a lot about their hiring and employees. This is a great company!
Tiffani S.Sorry to keep reiterating:new(older)home buyer-and the master bathroom water valve was found to be leaking pretty significantly my 2nd day here.Fortunately,I have a home buyer's warranty through American Home Shield-and plumbing systems are covered. This was a 1st as well:not sure what quality of service a warranty company would cover...but I couldn't manage this issue on my own.AHS made the process extremely easy:and I was contacted by Matt's Plumbing within 24 hrs. What a good/reassuring experience! The dispatcher(Monica)was extremely thorough--and I was kept in the loop re:scheduling window, etc.Jake arrived at the top of the 4 hr.timeframe I was given---amazing!He addressed my questions/issues immediately and thoroughly. There was even a communication glitch on my part with the warranty company:and when I voiced my disappointment;Jake went right to work while I called AHS with my information. In other words--he didn't just say,""""sorry,it's out of my hands.Get a new work order and I'll be back another time.""""He respected my time & understood my concerns. The warranty co. was able to approve everything quickly--but I appreciate Jake and Matt's Plumbing for having the integrity to do the right thing.Jake was extremely informative and repaired my issue(fingers crossed!)-and provided common-sense solutions for a few problems.Thank you!
I had a chrome bib installed in my bath shower since construction of the house in 2004 . The handle broke due to old age ,when their tech came he claimed that it wasn't tear and wear. I complained to this Co's owner who was very very rude and impolite , he shouldn't deal with public with that attitude . They ripped me off for $75.00. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this plumber.
Honest, thorough, courteous, and knowledgeable. These guys are THE go-to place for plumbing in the Tampa Bay area! Matt took great care of me from when he first arrived to my place. He patiently examined and explained everything and even went the extra mile by answering other general plumbing questions/concerns I had. Matt was kind, professional, and didn't unnecessarily recommend things just to make more money (he even left me with some tools to help identify/fix the issue I was having with my sink drain in case it happened again). Overall, I highly recommend Matt at Matt's Plumbing Services!
Jeremy S.Matt was dispatched by our warranty company, American Home Shield, to fix a failed tank-less hot water heater. AHS's contractors are generally pretty awful but Matt was definitely the exception to that rule. Our repair was a bit complicated and a bit of a pain in his arse, but Matt did an awesome job of coordinating the parts and service and making multiple runs to my home to deal with the issue. In the end, Matt returned our tank-less hot water heating system to full working capacity and we were very happy with his service. We'll gladly call upon Matt directly for any issues outside of our home warranty service. Thanks again Matt and team!
Diana S.Our experience with Matt's Plumbing was awful. He is the contractor for American Home Shield and we do understand that relationship... repair first, replace as a last resort. Matt responded to a no-hot water call. He replaced the heating element, but later that day our tank burst. Matt would not accept our call to come back out; we had to call AHS first, which I get, but given the circumstances, I had hoped that he would at least get us onto his schedule, while we contacted AHS. Nope. So another day went by until Matt could get there. This time he replaced the pressure regulator; aaannnnddd within 12 hours, the pressure regulator exploded and our garage was flooded and full of smoke (turned out to be steam). Matt's non-comprehensive repair to avoid replacement caused more damage than just the hotwater tank; the water damaged our brand new dryer for sure... not sure yet if we can salvage the washer. I called Matt's office asking for the work order for the second visit, since he didn't leave one, and they have yet to send it to me. I will be taking Matt's Plumbing to small claims court. We eventually went with another plumber to replace the water heater, insurance be damned... we couldn't take a chance on having this incompetent back in our home.
