Mattioni plumbing was prompt and skilled professionals. I had them install a toilet and sink faucets in my bathroom. I thought the charge of $1100 was excessive, I even purchased the toilet and faucets and contracted for installation only. Get an written estimate before committing to the work.

Charged almost $700 for a simple hot water tank repair. (expansion tank and pressure relief valve) Parts were about $70 if bought at Lowe's. They state they charge by the activity which amounts to about $350 per hour in labor given the tech was here less than 2 hours. They also appear to charge twice for certain activities (i.e. ""draining down the building""). This was an independent line item on the invoice and also included in the description of one of the broader ""activities"" performed. Lastly, they promote a VIP program for about $200/year so you can save a little money during their visit and get some additional value out of them down the road. (i.e. HVAC tune ups, etc.) I will use this over the next year and hope that it changes my perspective on this company's cost structure. Otherwise, I could see using them for a complex problem but for simple things you may just want to call ""Joe the plumber"". Note: this review is not intended to be an opinion, but rather a factual recap of my experience to help guide others who may need hot water tank service.

WOMEN BEWARE!!! I called Mattioni Plumbing and Heating for an issue we were having with our tankless water heater. Our heater tripped a few times, so we wanted it to get looked at and I contacted Mattioni who advised it would be a $60 charge for a diagnostic. When the technician, Norm, arrived he asked me what the issue was and I showed him the water heater. Once he saw the heater, he immediately told me that he doesn't recommend tankless water heaters and they can be costly to work on.
He proceeds to go over their VIP Program for a good 15 minutes, as I am telling him multiple times that I don't want that and I just want to know what the problem is with the heater. He finally opens up the heater and calls the customer service line of the brand to figure out what the issue is. He was on the phone with them for a maximum 15 minutes and found out it could be the oxygen sensor is bad. Norm, then comes upstairs and sits at our island to precedes to tell me that just to open up the system it would be at least $700 in labor before we even get to that sensor and if that is even the problem. Then for the next 2 hours turns into a sales guy and is trying to have me spend $5,000.00 on converting to a regular tank heater because it is less work etc. I continue to tell him that I will have to talk to my husband which is not the answer he wanted to hear, telling me that he can only give me this deal right now for there, again VIP service. After me telling him No he starts ""yelling"" at me about why I don't have CO2 alarms in my house. Norm keeps on pressuring me on making a decision on what I want to do right there and then. I tell him I just want him to leave and that's when the bill comes. He wanted to charge me for $439.00!!!!! I asked him what this is for, I thought it was only $60 for diagnostic? You didn't do any work, just sat here for 2 hours giving me a sales pitch and he couldn't answer. He kept saying he wouldn't leave until payment was received! Being a female, I feel like I was taken advantage of. I have a stranger in my house yelling at me telling me he's not leaving without his money. I then contacted my husband who went straight to the company's location (Downingtown). No manger was available to speak with him (surprise surprise). I received a call the next afternoon (Jeff), and I feel like he really didn't care and just was asking how they can make my experience better with them. When I asked him what the $379.00 (marked special plumbing) was he could not answer and stated I don't know.
We called a local plumber and here the system just needs to be flushed out and cost $200. I can't believe this company is still in business. I have also contacted the BBB and reported them.

Called for plumbing service and was given a time late the next day even though we indicated it was an emergency. When tech arrived & we told him, his response was 'you have to wait your turn when you're as good as we are'. Wow-how to make friends!!!!!
Vote with your wallet. Will never call them again & will be sure not to give references-except only to call someone else!

Technician came out (or should I say salesman) to look at a bathtub drain. Quoted over $2,000 to repair it. Scam artists. Stay away. Trust the negative comments.

High quality work but very expensive. My wife signed up for the recurring service membership amd they have not been here in a very long time or called to schedule

They get one star because they showed up. The technician was nice diagnosed the problem then called his supervisor to come and check this diagnosis. Then they hit you with an astronomical estimate to fix the problem. I'm not uninformed to what an air conditioner unit should cost for a mobile home I guess they thought I was!! I contacted a family member and friends who are building contractors all said the price was outrageous. BEWARE of this company they over charge. My mistake was not reading all the other reviews before calling them!!

A tech came out to diagnose the problem, charging a diagnosis fee. The tech himself was very nice and very knowledgeable and not responsible for pricing. I was majorly taken advantage of by the company. Women beware! The tech told me the total for their least expensive garbage disposal, which he said is the same exact brand as my broken, old garbage disposal, plus installation was $603, even with a ""promotional"" coupon of $45. So it would have been almost $650 or more. They knew I was in a desperate situation and when I asked the cost of the garbage disposal to get a breakdown of costs, the tech said there is no breakdown, it's just one flat cost. Since the garbage disposal has never been replaced before, I told him to go ahead with the work. When people heard how much I paid, they said I was taken advantage of. I know this now, especially after checking prices for my area. I called mattioni to complain and Jeff, the plumbing service manager, called me back. While he said he understood the logic behind my concern, after I told him I did some research later and found the average charge for installation is between 20 and $48 an hour and that the same garbage disposal can be bought at Home Depot for $100, he said and I quote, ""We can't charge hourly. We're in business and we wouldn't make any money."" It was disbelief on my part. He just admitted to price gouging. I reminded him that this is a very difficult period of time due to covid-19 and they would dare to charge that much. I requested half of what I paid returned to me. Jeff said he couldn't do that but that he would offer me a free membership for the year, which is $490 and refund me the difference to add up to $600. I kept saying I wanted the money rather than a membership since I am with a warranty company. He said the membership is free and they perform annual heating and air conditioning tune-ups every year with a 15 percent discount for plumbing calls. None of this really impressed me. I also told Jeff that I did not received an itemized cost of the product and labor separately. The reason for this is obvious. Jeff responded that they just charge flat fees and don't itemize. I then reminded him that when you go to any mechanic, they are itemized every item plus labor. I said I did not want to have to go to small claims court or contact the Better Business Bureau, Etc. And that I just want half of my money back. We went back and forth like this for 10 minutes or so. I ended up accepting Jeff's offer of the free membership plus $113 back on the credit card. He said he would email me regarding our discussion of settlement. I have not received an email yet. This was 3 1/2 hours ago that we spoke. Just beware that they are in business and charge whatever they can to make a profit. This was not resolved to my satisfaction. In response to Alison's response, first of all, I didn't know I was overcharged until soaking with the warranty company and doing my own research. Installing an inexpensive disposal, including disposal, is between $180 and $400. Several people told me I was overcharged after the fact. No, I do not agree with your outrageous pricing. Secondly, Jeff and I spoke yesterday and he refused to compensate me half of the $600. Instead, he offered a 6 months membership and $113 compensation. What more was there to discuss today? If you read my review more carefully, Alison, you will see that I had no issue with the tech. Again, it's your outrageous pricing. There is nothing further to discuss. Many other plumbers charge half of what Mattioni charges. This has nothing to do with the warranty company and everything to do with them pointing out that I paid $500 for an installment, that's why Mattioni does not itemize, to keep the customer in the dark about the true price of the item. Can't make this any clearer but this was after finding out that I was ripped off.

We called Mattioni to come to our house to troubleshoot some bathroom lavatory leaks that were going on. We also wanted an an estimate for a new humidifier, to change out the lavatory handles that had been installed backwards, replace a utility room faucet, and to do a general inspection of all the plumbing In our house. We have plans to add a new bathroom to our unfinished basement and he had good advice about that.

The humidifier went in without a hitch! The handles on the lavatories were changed without a problem! The new utility sink faucet that was installed was a dream!

My lavatory leaks though...these had to be tinkered wIth several times., on several different days. You are thinking, WHY FIVE STARS????

This is why! Our plumber came out several times, in a very timely manner, to make things right. He could have easily told us that this was a worse repair than what it was. He was unfailingly polite, and optimistic and got the leak problem solved.

Everyone that I've talked to or dealt with at Mattioni Plumbing has been very profesdional and helpful. I look forward to calling them for our basement bathroom project because I am sure that they willl do it right, and more importantly, if there are any unforeseen problems, THEY WILL MAKE IT RIGHT!

10 stars would only be fair for the level of expertise and customer service provided by Mattioni. We have four zones of heating and on their first visit they efficiently made their way through four units.
Not every skilled technician can explain the work to clients - my first experience with Mattioni leads me to believe that customer service is as important to this company as is technical expertise -
