The service Oscar provided was outstanding, he was prompt, on time and professional. The Shower Valve Cartridge removal was difficult and took a while to remove. He had a replacement cartridge on his truck and once removed, it only took a few minutes to finish the job. He was in our home approximately an hour and half.

When he quoted me $629 dollars to fix my shower, I assumed the parts was $300-400 dollars. I was surprised when I looked up the part on amazon and found the replacement cartridge was available for a range of $16-$54 dollars. Which if my math is correct, I paid MATTEX Heating, Cooling and Plumbing a whopping $400+ per hour in labor charges. I am ok with paying for quality but in our town the most expensive professionals charges $65-$100 an hour. Although the service was first rate the labor charge was out of line.

Our HVAC system in over 20 years old, and may need replacing soon, but with their over-the-top labor charges for what was a simple plumbing repair, I will not be looking to them for any future work.

I will not recommend them for anyone on fixed income like us. I am a retired Navy Veteran and on Social Security and there $629 repair, cost me half month's income.

On 1/16/23, after fighting frozen pipes all week, walked into the bathroom about 3am to find water spewing everywhere..no one available to help..everyone was dealing with their own troubles..earliest any could do was 7am...Then called Mattex...if memory serves me right, they arrived about 4:30..took care of everything..Very pleasant and professional..a bit pricey for my budget, but considering emergency after hour, part replacement, and mileage (they drove a ways) it was a fair price..they do collect at time of service..I would definitely use them again..thank you Mattex..Glad you were there

Our House was built in the 1950's and most things had been changed except our furnace. It was a gigantic, gravity flow, coal burning, converted to gas furnace. Oh and I almost forgot an additional blower added sometime in the disco era! Needless to say it was a mess in every sense of the word.
We received a flier from Mattex in the mail. We thought we would give them a call if nothing else it will be fun watching them run away from the house. We've had estimates before from other companies and they just couldn't or wouldn't touch it.
Monday September 19th Trevor Buford shows up to our home and consulted with us. We figured out what our needs were and how to achieve them. We have pets, allergies and my husband has asthma. Trevor did not run away, instead he built us a system that was tailored to our every concern. He even found a way to put in Central air, major bonus feature! We couldn't believe how fast the turnaround was from consult to install. We opted for a Trane system and once we had all the financials figured out (he is great there too) we were on to the install.
Monday October 3rd Trevor and his team Jared, Seth, Cole and Dustin were at our home by 7:58AM ready to work! Everyone was prompt, curious and well versed professionals. Everything about our furnace is beautiful. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and attention to detail. Our house is so thankful too. I am waiting patiently for our first utility bill.
