This dude deserves negative stars. Total fraud, pretended to fix a gas leak that never got fixed, turn the gas on which is against what the gas company allows and could have destroyed my building. Then when I reached out to have him go back and fix it after paying him, he ghosted me. The gas company representative warned me about having him come back as he was so incompetent. Don't fall for the 38 years in the industry, lifetime warranty bullshit.

DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY. Matt Zeber the ""plumber"" doesn't even deserve one star. He was found on Craig's List and hired to install a hot water tank, a pressure tank and fix a leak in the upstairs bathtub. He said he would be here between 9-10 a.m. on May 7th, but would call me from Home Depot first so that I could pay for the necessary parts. If he paid for them with reimbursement from me, he would charge an extra 3%. He texted me at 9:30 saying he overslept, but would be here soon. He didn't show up until 12:30. After I had to ask for the receipt from Home Depot, I noticed potato chips and a drain cleaner had been charged to my account. When I questioned him about the drain cleaner, he told me he was sorry, had forgotten about that and it was for another customer.....on MY credit card. I also brought up the chips and again he apologized.

The rest of the ENTIRE day was ridiculous. By 6:00 p.m. and numerous trips back to Home Depot, he had finally installed the pressure tank. It took another 2+ hours and another trip to the store for the hot water tank to be installed. It was then found that the pressure tank was not working properly. By this time, my water had been off for 8+ hours....with 2 small kids here that needed to use the bathroom not only for the obvious, but also to wash hands. Matt the ""plumber"" wanted to give oral instructions to my son on how to fix the pressure tank and leave. My son insisted Matt stay and fix the problem.

Also, when Matt the ""plumber"" was hired, he said he'd dispose of the old hot water tank. It is sitting in my side yard. Considering he showed up in a compact car driven by a friend (which should have given me a clue to what was about to happen), he was unable to fulfill this obligation.

By 9:00 p.m.+, he did leave and said he'd be back to finish the jobs in the morning. He never got to the upstairs bathtub work thankfully. Before he left, I gave him a check for the agreed upon price of all three issues minus the chips and another customer's drain cleaner. He asked me to write the check out to his friend and not his name. By this time, I had realized my mistake in hiring him hours and hours ago and wrote the check out in his friend's name just to get him out of my house.

Matt the ""plumber"" tracked dirt and gunk all through my laundry room (where the water tank, etc. are located), kitchen and even on the carpet in the living room. He put some kind of blue putty on a valve of the pressure tank and got it on my kitchen floor. It will not come off. I was up until almost midnight cleaning up after him.

I left him a message this morning telling him he need not come back today to finish the job. After looking at the BBB website, I'm pretty sure he wasn't planning on showing up anyway. I've hired a real plumber to come fix my issues, but will have to live with the pressure tank problems until then. I will also have to live with the blue putty on my kitchen floor until I can replace the floor. I will have to have carpets professionally cleaned and hope they can even come clean.

Please do not make the same mistake I did trying to save a buck. Matt the ""plumber"" has cost me much more money than I'd have spent hiring an actual plumbing company, not to mention the aggravation.

He is a thief. Stole my money and did not finish the job. Didn't even do half the job. Urinated in my toilet and put cigarette butts in it. It sat there for days because he never came back and got my water running. He wouldn't answer the phone until I called on another number. Do not give this crooked thief any money. He also has reviews on BBB website saying the exact same thing. I am out $2000 dollars. He was very pushy about being paid before completion... I fell for it and he disappeared. I had other plumbers come out a d they said, the little he did, they would not use his work because it is not up to code. They said he did a terrible job and he is very unprofessional. Again.. he stole 2000 dollars from me
