My super refer this company to me to install a oven gas range. I was a little bit scared by the review I saw but still decided to go with it.

Bottom line, it was an amazing service. From the person who took the call to the plumber who went above and beyond when completing the job, I was very satisfied by the work.

I don't know if there was some changes implemented but I would suggest you give them a chance.

Also the pricing was fair and transparent.

I referred my client to Matison to clean up a disastrous mess another plumber & contractor had started.
Normally a plumber won't touch another's half started work because it's a hornet's nest for liability, but they saw what a desperate state it was, got their expeditors involved to sort the DOB permit mess, coordinate with her building management, architect & new contractor. They worked hand in hand with her new architect to manage the project & successfully helped my client finally move into her apartment after a year+ of couch surfing.

Would give 0 stars if possible. Horrible experience from start to finish. Originally had a plumber come out and replace a pipe that had corroded. The plumber did not install the new pipe correctly due to being lazy/incompetent (didn't measure how far the pipe would extend past the dishwasher return so that it was blocking the dishwasher from draining). When the issue was found out (took about 1.5 yrs bc of infrequent use and the specific nature of the problem) they refused to accept responsibility and we were billed for them to fix their original mistake. The receptionist on the phone was combative and condescending and refused to see how they were at fault. Use literally anyone else unless you like shoddy work, unprofessional service, and paying for them to fix their mistakes.

This company will milk you dry. They are our ""building plumber"" so they got recommended by building staff. They would not give you the vaguest estimate on how much time a job would take, and for a simple one or two hour job they managed to stretch to more than five hours. The plumber was literally playing with his phone and doing his hair to the mirror when on the job. We have a baby cam and I saw it all.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this greedy company.

My Coop uses this company for it's plumbing so i was pretty much forced to use them. For a one hour job they charged me for three hours of labor. After 2 hours I caught the plumber polishing his screwdriver and had to ask ""are you done"" and he said Oh yeah, take a look. He then went on to pack up his tools for another hour. When the office billed me for the one hour of work and two hours of tool cleaning, I protested and was given the ""Goodfellas answer"" Needless to say I will never use them again.

My co-op uses this company for its plumbing needs. They are vague, non-transparent, and exorbitant in their billing. I was billed 6 hours for a 2 hour job. When I asked for an accounting of the other 4 hours, they would not get back to me. I have contacted my co-op and requested other options for future plumbing needs.

While Matisoff will fix your plumbing, their charges may be exorbitant and they absolutely pay not attention to aesthetics. They did a terrible job of replacing radiators in our building lobby. We have chased them for 6 months to install proper radiator covers to no avail.

These guys are very professional! No messy dirty workers like most plumbers out there. A good size company and all plumbers know their stuff. This is a must call plumbing company for any job.

I'm writing this review basically in response to the singel bad review that was up on yelp at the time of my writing this.

Matisoff are good plumbers.

I've been using them (as little as possible) for years and have never had a problem.
They are intelligent. I'll repeat that. They are intelligent.

Yes, sometimes they're late. Yes sometimes they destroy your drywall unnecessarily. Like any tradesman you have to watch them. These guys are not geniuses.

Compared to other plumbers/contractors/etc I'd say Matisoff is definitely one of the better companies out there. Remember, if you want them to pay attention to you when you have a tiny job you better hook them up with big jobs as well. Otherwise they are not going to make you a priority.

These guys are licensed and insured so take that into account.

Had a minor plumbing job the other day, so I called up Matisoff based on a recommendation from a neighbor. Spoke to their office a 10am and they told me they'd stop by around 1pm, or would call if they got held up. In the end, they were no shows, I got no courtesy call or explanation, and there was no response to my follow up call. Very lame.
