: HVAC system maintenance Technicians quality of work was good. Not a fan that I wasn't informed of him replacing my back flow valve and fill valve without asking me. $400+ in parts Not as punctual as they used to be when I worked along side them in the industry. Their new pricing is absurd and I can't fathom how lower income families could afford a scheduled service call let alone and after hours emergency. I don't leave any reviews ever but this one seemed worthy

This is review is long overdue. I have employed MatsuMechanical for 3 major projects and several service repairs. I really can't say enough about them. I employed them to replace my boiler system in 2010 and install infloor heat and all my domestic plumbing in my new house in 2018. I also employed them to install the gas line for a generator. I am a Slope worker and can say that their plumbing/HVAC designs are impeccable. They are designed so that if any component fails, they can be replaced easily, quickly, and without unnecessary draining or purging of a system. Their designs might cost more---I really don't know. I just know that all isolation valving is right where it needs to be and if there is any problem (like I had after the earthquake), the system can be repaired and brought back online very quickly. They are exceedingly honest and very approachable. They gave me an estimate for a gas line, came out to do the work, found an easier and cheaper way, and refunded me half the money. They also fulfilled their warranty obligations when I had an expansion tank fail. You can put your trust into this company that they will do the right thing, every time.

Nancy R. Never again will we do business with this company! We hired them to do some maintenance and earthquake repairs on our boiler. (For that, we paid $600+). During the process the technician broke a small glass window on the front of the boiler, which he said he would come back to replace. After he left, we became very aware the boiler was making clanking noises that it had never made prior to his working on it. He came back a couple of weeks later to correct his screw ups. Here's the kicker. The company is trying to collect $276 for that return call meant to correct their errors! BUYER BEWARE! This is not a trustworthy, ethical company!

I called Mat-Su Mechanical to clean and inspect my heating and HVAC system, fall of 2017. They informed me that there would be a ""first time callout fee"" of $200.00, plus a one hour minimum charge of $140.00 for a total minimum charge of $340.00. Any parts needed would be additional. I thought at the time that the estimate was pretty steep, but had them come out anyway as they had originally installed the system in my house when it was built in 2003. The technician that performed the work stated that I would need an inducer motor in the not-too-distant future but that it wasn't something that had to be done right away. He also specifically stated that there wouldn't be an additional ""first time callout fee"" as it would be considered a followup repair. Fast forward to spring of 2019. I called Mat-Su Mechanical to come out and replace the inducer motor, explained that it was their technician who originally diagnosed the issue, gave them the original work order number and the technicians name that performed the work, and said that he had specifically stated to me that there would not be an additional ""first time callout fee"". They absolutely refused to honor it, insisted that I pay another first time callout fee, and the reason they gave was that the particular technician was no longer with them so they couldn't ask him about it. The technician wrote on the original work order under 'Recommended Repairs' ""The inducer motor has rough start up."" I offered to show them the original work order, which they declined. Never again will they ever see another penny of mine. I instead called a competitor, and now realize that it was a mistake to call Mat-Su Mechanical in the first place.

Matsu Mechanical installed our heating system when we converted to gas. We had them do the maintenance too, but we had to keep replacing pumps due to an installation problem. Recently when they came out to again address this issue they charged us $200 before they showed up. They don't tell you the full cost at the time of service . We did not receive a bill until 2 months later when we received a snippy email saying we owed $ 116.00 more and it was past due. Never doing business with them again! Too many issues and bad billing practices finally made this decision. They used to be a very good business and there service guys have always been great when they were at our house.

i was a customer with rental property for about 8 years until this last experience. i called and scheduled a general maintenance for a furnace a couple of weeks in advance. they called a couple of days before the appointment and told me that they scheduled wrong. i was asked to reschedule and did for 1 day sooner. moved my entire work and family schedule around to accommodate them at a time they offered. between 3pm and 5pm. so i make the 1 hour drive to come meet them. i arrive at the property at 2:45pm. by approximately 3:45pm no one has showed yet, so i called the office. i was told the tech was running behind at another job and would be there between 415pm - 430pm. i said that is fine. then the same lady at the office called back less than 5 minutes later and told me that any of the tech's time after 5pm will be charged as overtime. they told me that this is there policy. so i spoke with the office manager and she knew the entire situation. she even acknowledged that it was not my fault for them running behind or having to reschedule the original appointment! she said that they were going to charge me overtime rate because that is there policy. so i said i was not paying overtime when i held up to my end of the bargain and they did not.told them not to come over. they charged my credit card for $200 anyways for the first hour of service. what they did was hold me ransom by saying pay the overtime or cancel the appointment and we charge you anyways! this was an authorized charge on my account!! do not!! do not!! do not!! use them. many other quailty companies out there. like kleb's!!

This company did timely and reliable work for me in the past in other homes. This earned the two stars. When it was time to plumb and install heat and other mechanical in another home, I called to get scheduled. The woman on the phone said they were a couple of months out but I told her that was fine, and asked when they could at least come out and provide an estimate. She said she'd check and call me back. No call back, a week later I emailed, outlining the work needed. They responded that they were declining the job because they had lots of other big jobs out of state, and also that because the gas lines had already been run they didn't like continuing work that someone else had already started. I was very disappointed in their lack of loyalty to return customers and for giving me the run around in scheduling. Unfortunately mat su mechanical has joined the list of service providers in Alaska that can't be bothered with pesky residential service.
