Dawne F.Had Mastercraft come out to look at my furnace on 12-4-17 which wouldn't stay running. Service rep spent 5 minutes and said need a new furnace. I ask him to clean the furnace which he did and paid $164 for the service call and cleaning. 2 weeks later problem continued so I had another company come out. First thing he said was it needs a good cleaning. When I told him I had it cleaned he said it didn't look like anything had been done. He did a thorough cleaning, walked me through what he had done and the furnace has been operating great since then. Not only did Mastercraft try to sell me an unneeded new furnace , they did a bad job, if any, of cleaning it. Never use Mastercraft or refer them again!
Laura H.Late night service call...quoted me $3300 to replace furnace rather than order the part and fix it. I got a second opinion before complete replacement, and Bob called to give me grief about performing due diligence before committing to a new system. Turns out the part and installation was about $300, but I also had to pay Mastercraft additional charges ($369.00 service call, heater rental and ""labor"" even though nothing was actually done). Why quote for a new system when a couple hundred dollar part would fix it? That's just bad business! I would not recommend this company to anyone I know!

Shirley, the woman who answers the phone, is rude and condescending.
I have a long-term relationship with Mastercraft: thousands of dollars spent on new heating and cooling systems for several residential and commercial properties; and maintenance/service contracts for each of these properties. But when I needed a service call for a commercial property (that is literally located down the street from their location), I was informed that they were too busy to honor their ""priority scheduling"" for service contract holders and they could get to it the following day. I guess they make more money taking service calls for new customers than taking care of customers with service contracts.
Tim B.This is the second worst Heating and Cooling behind Levine and son I advise you to do your research do not include Mastercraft they are terrible they don't return your phone call I've talk to the manager he said he was on a conference call you give me a call back it's been five days haven't heard from them still waiting on the call my heat went out last week out one day guy came to service $400 later went back out again the next day the next tech said the first one made a lot of mistakes did I mention the furnace is only three years old. Daniel M.What a shame to lose business because your customer service is lacking. Tried to explain to the person who called to confirm appointment that I had tried on numerous occasions to call the number that I was given to change my appointment time and kept getting Voice Mail full messages and that wasn't very customer friendly. I w2as told that it was not their problem if I tried to call a personal number (Given to me by Master Craft). I again tried to tell them that I was calling to try and change time but was told Technician was on the way. I tried again to explain that I could not leave a msg before but could not b....... But was cut off and told ...Not their problem about voicemail full but tech was coming. Hate to break it to you guys but my schedule does not work around your needs. I was being polite by pointing out a customer service issue you have but it's clear Master Craft's needs come first.
Smoker's C.This company including the owner of the company is a crook. they told my parents they needed a brand new furnace. They didn't fix anything and charged them 180.00 .... THEY HAVE A SERVICE CALL FEE OF 85.00 which includes them just driving to your home. when My mom asked them why it's 180.00 the guy said because he looked at both furnaces... Only call this company if you want to burn your money for zero service. If there was a zero star rating, I would give just that. I ended up calling another company they came out and fixed it for 170.00... I GUESS THEY DIDN'T NEED A NEW FURNACE FOR 3,700.00 AFTER ALL.... WORTHLESS COMPANY ... DON'T SAY YOU WEREN'T WARNED....
Melanie G.BUYER BEWARE!! Mastercraft Heating Cooling and Plumbing in Redford. Bad business... Bob came to my mom's house because her furnace went out. He told her it could not be fixed until after the Christmas weekend, because he could not get the part to fix it until then. He quoted her $700+. My brother, who is a plumber, called his heating and cooling friend (and, I guess she will call him instead, in the future) . They went to get the part which costs $130. The furnace was fixed within an hour or two. So, Bob was going to rob my mom blind for Christmas and let her freeze over the holiday weekend; and that, more than anything made my blood boil and made me call and give them a piece of my mind. I'M SPREADING THE WORD!
Matt S.Rude and not to be trusted...sold me a service contract under false pretense and then did not faithfully complete the work. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID AT ALL COST.
I can see the owner has responded to this comment....so I will respond accordingly below.
1. I contacted them a few weeks after the contract was signed for a refund. Sorry, if you can't keep track on your end and call back to respond to my request.
2. Your tech came to the house and 'missed' the fact that the air conditioner was short several pounds of freon. There was no major failure to have caused this to happen.
Service on time each time we call. We use them for our regular maintenance and emergency service. I have used all phases of their company. Plumbing came out to take care of a nasty clog. The came out right away when the ac didn't kick on in the spring. I recommend them to all of my relatives and friends.
