I own a rental property at The Hills in Bedminster, NJ and my water heater needed to be replaced in a hurry. I contacted Master Tech through Home Advisor and Bryan Carisone did the job quickly and at a good price. Brian's communication with me throughout the process was superb, which was very important to me since I was in upstate NY at the time. I highly recommend Master Tech!

If I could give a 0 rating I would.....Over 3 months ago, after a full ac/furnace job was done and a $500.00 rebate offered by the state....I am still waiting for all completed paperwork to be handed over so I can complete the rebate form.(which should have been sent to the state by Bryan and his company at the completion of the job and also sent to me at the same time which is stated on the rebate form). Email after email sent asking to provide all paperwork needed only to get a runaround and stalled.

On the 15th of Sept..Bryan stated, ""I will have my office look into this by weeks end. The State moves very slowly but I will check to see if all your paperwork was submitted and that its being processed then we can go from there""

On the 16th...."" just checked your file again and there is a note on the jacket that your rebates have been filled out and submitted to the State sometime in late June.""

On the 17th...""Bryan...Please send me a copy of the rebate(s) application that your company filled out on my behalf sometime in late June and submitted to the State, and a copy of the application that was made to the Borough for the permits. Please scan same today and forward the documents to me via e-mail.""

After talking with him on the phone today, he wants to come over to check the model and serial numbers on installed items to put on paperwork for rebate(which he states in a email was submitted in late June). He blames Tom his salesman, and everyone else for not doing their jobs and ""he doesn't have a crystal ball"" to see that everyone working for him has done their job correctly and on time, which, as the owner, is exactly his job. Next time...I will deal with Edison Heating and Cooling, they may cost a little more, but at least I won't have to deal with this incompetence. Shop elsewhere....

I was contacted by Master Tech through my inquiry at HomeAdvisor.com for a water heater replacement and was initially quite impressed. Tom quickly came to inspect the mechanicals and provide an estimate. There wasn't an emergency, but the water heater was 15 years old and two of my neighbors and I thought it would be best to replace them before they failed. Plus, we thought we'd get better rate for 3 jobs which could be done at the contractor's convenience.

Tom consulted with Bryan and provided a price quote a couple of days later. We agreed and was looking forward to scheduling the work. The next day I got a call from Bryan who said that he could not honor the quote Tom provided the day before and was not obligated to because we did not have a signed contract. Obviously, since Tom gave the price quote over the phone and did not fax or email a contract, I could not sign a contract. Anyway, Bryan said he would call back a few days later with the revised quote -- and he did. The price increased a few hundred dollars.

We were not happy at all with the ""bait and switch"" but was happy that we experienced their deceptive sales practices before we committed to using them. I assume most consumers of water heaters experienced an emergency and do not have the luxury to shop around.

My neighbors and I went with another plumber. I tried posting a review on Home Advisor, but they only publish reviews from people who engaged the contractor.

The absolute worst. I rate them ZERO stars but it won't let me. Before doing any work get multiple estimates. You will see this is a dishonest company. They charged me TRIPLE what other company's do. I even had the insurance agent tell me that he saw more work done in a $2 Million dollar home for 1/3 of what they charged me for in this condo. They will take advantage of you. Do NOT use. Do your due diligence. I do not know how they can be in business. 1) They changed their company name. 2) They do not even have an office. Go visit the office address that is listed, it is literally a junk yard. I have never seen anything like this. I had multiple plumbers check the work afterwords and all of them provided estimates at 1/3 the price. They all stated ""when are they coming back to finish the job."" I told them they said they were done. The bath tub spout was not secured to the wall. They put a chrome handle bar that didn't match the nickel shower head. They removed a handle bar from my other bathroom and replaced it with a smaller one that doesn't even cover the opening in the shower. They put a cheap tub with stains (I was told was $500 only to go to home depot and see the same tub for $190). Then they sold the pipes I needed for my insurance claim for scrap metal. They claim they can't find it, despite numerous phone calls the same day and every day afterwards. Don't get taken advantage of by these guys. Always check when it comes to contractors.

Bryan Carisone has been doing it for over 20 years. We have had him go out to our apartments that we own in Yonkers NY, to do some plumbing repairs and he provides excellent service at a cost that is fair. They also service Heating and Air Conditioners which is essential with the east coast seasons! I highly recommend Master Tech for any of your plumbing needs!
