Recommended Customer Reviews
Geo C.Do not use this business, there are plenty of very professional, and honest contractors, that take pride in their work, and use skilled tradespeople. This is not one of them. Owner, is unprofessional and should not be in any client facing business. He boasted that they cheat on clients by installing very cheap materials from Ikea that they upsell. They are not licensed for residential renovations in Philadelphia, and will use other contractors' licenses to do work. The owner, cannot follow architectural plans, cannot project manage, is not communicative, refuses to work with architects, does not like oversight, uses unskilled subcontractors that he underpays and refuses to oversee, and creates very expensive long term problems. Lies about taking remediation steps in the event regulated toxic building products are found on site. Refuses to handle any change orders, does not observe punch lists, and generally resents working for clients that will not do things his way. Tries to cut corners at every stage and creates artificial emergencies to divert attention from the problems he creates along the way. He messed up all the electricals, installed smoke detectors and outlets where cabinetry was planned, installed discontinued lighting cans, for which no trims exist in the market, and had to be retrofitted at more than 3x the cost of properly installed new lighting, installed plumbing for toilets, and sinks at wrong heights and locations, shower drains were installed improperly, with water dripping to floors below, and mold collecting under installed shower floor tiles and smelling bad, which had all to be ripped out and rebuilt, bath tub overflow drains were not connected and leaked into lower floors, all the AC vents were installed crooked. Drywall was improperly installed, with drywall nails coming through walls, and ceilings and walls looking wavy, and cracks appearing at a lot of corners, with several outlets covered. They increased our renovations costs by 40% just to fix problems they created. When fired, he tried to extort more money by sending inexplicable bills, lying that he had sent bills more than 30 days prior, by hiring different attorneys and making false claims of unpaid bills, threatening to sue for exposure to toxic building products he disturbed without any precautions, and holding personal items, furniture, all finishing plumbing materials at his warehouse, all wood flooring, and all tiles for bathrooms basement. When that was unsuccessful, he returned all wood flooring and other finishing materials and pocketed the refunds. This is a very low quality outfit, owned and run by a person that hates working for clients. Do not let then anywhere near your property.
