I first called Perfect Plumbing and received a quote to have my side line snaked and cleaned out and they quoted nearly $400 just to have a side line cleaned. I dismissed the tech right away as I felt this was extremely high for the scenario I was in. I called Master Rooter and Helmut (my tech) came out same day within the hour. He explained my situation and had me back in business with an unclogged drain and half the price of Perfect Plumbing's quote. He also left me with some helpful tips on cleaning out my gutters! Helmut was great. Highly recommend Master Rooter.

I would NOT recommend!! We asked them to come out and look at our garbage disposal. We asked if there was a quick fix and we we told no someone would have to come out. It ended up there is a reset button that fixed the problem. The technician was there less than 15 minutes and we were billed $154. I will not be using this service ever!!!

Do you think they ever came back to fix the problem they said they fixed, of course NOT. Save your money and don't waste your time with a company that only cares about money and not YOU

No hot water and a call into Master Rooter solved the issue super quick. Jim L. came to my home in about 5 minutes had fixed the problem and had so much knowledge about my tankless hot water heater. Thanks so much a job well done!

The absolute worst plumbers in the Treasure valley. They came out and did absolutely nothing and wanted to tack on a bunch of extras to the tune of over $800.00. It was quite clear the plumber just didn't want to do anything because the cleanout is in the cellar instead of being outside. They still want to charge me for a service call even though they did absolutely nothing. Roter Rooter came out and knocked it out in just a few minutes. Master Rooter is a pathetic and unethical company. Beware..call someone else!!!!

I realize it's easier to get reviews if someone is not happy with a service and I typically read the negative with that in mind. What surprises me about this company is how uneven the different levels of response have been to a request for a bid on work. The initial online inquiry was responded to promptly and an appointment was scheduled several days out to allow me to take time off work to meet with a plumber to discuss the job.

On the morning of the appointment, a half hour after the missed meeting time, I got a call from customer service saying they were running late, but to expect them in ten to fifteen minutes. One hour after this call, still no plumber and I had had to cancel, as I had thought an initial meeting should take less time than an hour and a half. This is when two trucks roll up, but I had no time left to spend going over my work request.

From this point, customer service asked if I would be alright with a manager reaching out to me to discuss what had occurred and I'd believed that the inquiry was sincere. Now 48 hours later, no contact back. This company has a serious customer service issue. They obviously have too much work and as for concern about a clients time and interest in resolving issues is nonexistent.

Working in customer oriented businesses, a companies reputation is everything and Master Rooter has proven to be lacking that concern.

Poor follow-up customer service. I bought a water softener/hot water heater from them a year and a half ago. My water softener has not been regenerating so I called for a service appointment. That was 2 days ago and have yet to hear from the ""water softener guy"" to schedule a time to come out to look at my water softener. For the money I spent with them, I would think there would be better customer service! Won't be using them again for anything or will not recommend them.

Choice warranty :terrible.
Master rooter said water heater was not repairable and needed to be replaced.
Choice said not covered, so after two days no hot water.
If you have a Choice buy a warranty from another company. Do not make the mistake I did.

Christmas morning our crawl space flooded and we had no water. We called our home warranty, who called a different company (who will be receiving a review as well) and had them call us. The company said they couldn't come out that day, but to try again once the disaster folks cleaned the crawl space. We assumed the leak was down there, but we're not plumbers, so at this point nobody had trouble shot the issue. We decided to call another company, Master Rooter. The gal on the phone was pleasant and empathetic. She said there would be an additional fee for coming out on Christmas, but we figured that, and said that once we knew they could work downstairs, we'd call them. She reminded us that they work 24/7, so to call when we were ready. She called later that day as well, to check on us. How wonderful, she was. Unfortunately, it turned out that our home warranty did not work with them, so could not cover their work. (It turns out it wasn't anything the home warranty would cover anyhow, so we should have called them out).

Day two and we finally got cleaned up enough for a plumber to come look. So the original guy comes out, and instead of working, or even attempting to look busy, he's leaning on the hood of his van, watching the disaster people work. After an hour or two, he turns the water on and asks the disaster folks to go in the crawl space to see if they see the leak. Really?! We could have had that part done while they were down there in the water the day before! After a few minutes, the plumber comes to the conclusion that the leak is somewhere in the front yard, off the water main line. He then says that his excavator is out of town and won't be back until Monday. At that point, they will TRY to get the water repaired. Again, really?!?! So they want us to go water-free for 5 days, in the winter, knowing it's supposed to be down to zero and risk freezing pipes?

Monday comes around and we finally get in touch with this plumber, who says the excavator should be in town today and then he'll have to go find a back-hoe. Wow. An excavator who doesn't have the equipment to do the job? Ugggh. So we'd had enough. We call Master Rooter to try to schedule them to come out. This was late Monday. They said they'd be over Tuesday morning. Before I was home from work Monday, they had already sent people out to survey the problem and have the utility folks mark out the front lawn.

Tuesday morning Master Rooter was out and within 2 hours our water was back up and running! Turns out the leak was nowhere close to where the first plumber assumed it was. And to top it off, Master Rooter charged us $400 less than we were quoted by the initial bums!

From initial contact to the finalized repair, Master Rooter went above and beyond. I will recommend them to ANYONE who needs a plumber at a moment's notice. Thanks for all your hard work and for making my better half amazingly happy!

Best summed up with my note to the owner:

Had scheduled your company to come and pump my septic as it has been some time since it was last pumped.
Made the appointment for 2-4 thur Aug 7th to best work around my work schedule. A little after 12:30 I get called. Your guys were available and in the neighborhood. I had not planned on that early, so told the gal on the phone I would meet them there in roughly a half hour and they could get started in the mean time. Told her where the big hole next to the back of the drive was. Then I took off work earlier than planned to rush home and meet them.

It would seem the three foot hole, barely a foot from the side of the drive was too obscured by the pallet I had placed over it so nobody would trip. Your guys were sitting in the truck parked by the curb (half blocking my large drive) when I arrived. I showed them where and they backed in to get started. This was between 1-1:30.
Well, what I had dug up thinking it was the lid was the septic tank. What I had thought was the handle to the lid and centered my hole around was a loop near the corner of the tank itself. The actual lid was only partially uncovered. 8 inches of the 24 it was across. I took my shovel to the side of the hole to widen it and uncover the lid. Your guys packed up to go to another job down the road. (as I was digging) and told me that they could try back after. This is not yet 1:45. Still before my scheduled appointment.

I finished digging, and in the meantime had a phone call to deal with, then proceeded to call the gal at the office. It's now about 2:15. I let her know the lid was fully exposed and your guys could return whenever they finished the other job and they became available.

About 10 after 3 she calls me back to reschedule for the next day. Said the tech made arrangements with me to do it in the morning. While he had mentioned it as a possibility, that was not accurate. I informed her he was welcome to come back today, she said he had moved on to another job. I said after that would still be fine. But they could do it today. (this conversation was still in the middle of the time frame that had been scheduled early in the week) I, less than politely, told her that they were welcome today but that the next I would consider them trespassing. She said they would not trespass and promptly hung up. It was slightly unclear whether that meant they would return today or not at all.
A voice mail left with another contact for us made it clear she was canceling the appointment all together.

Between myself and the other contact there were nearly a dozen calls either from her or the guys in the field. For something arranged Tue. We scheduled for 2-4 thur because that was the time we could make work on this end.
In one of them your guys' busy schedule was mentioned. Yet there was time to sit in the truck by the curb for easily 15-20 minutes because the large obvious hole a foot from the driveway was hard to see through the pallet with 6 inch gaps between the slats two people had told them where to find. and you where an hour and a half earlier than scheduled anyway.
Your customers have schedules also. We have jobs. That's how we get the money to pay for things like pumping the septic tank. When we make an appointment we keep to it.
Even with a two hour window your staff had me leaving work earlier than arranged, on a moments notice, and in the middle of the appointment time decided they couldn't get it done today and don't seem to get why I might have a problem with that.

Yes, my hole was originally slightly off. But I grabbed a shovel and fixed that in less time than they didn't find the big hole next to the dive, and sat in the truck instead. And at that I was still ready at the beginning of that window of time we had set up days before. So I don't believe I was holding them up. Particularly since they chose to push me off to another day with nearly an hour in the appointment remaining and me being OK with them doing it even later in the day if that's what it took.

End result, while I planned on missing a couple hours of work originally, I'm now out a half days wages and will have to make arrangements with one of the other dozen or so companies to pump my tank. One that can honor At Least the spirit of a schedule, and has employees that want the work.
Not a single one of yours is welcome on this property after today.
All this by the mid point of the scheduled time frame!
Fortunately my tank is not presently backed up, but even if it was, I would deal with brown trout floating through the house until I found a company that gives a damn about the customer.

Master Rooter will not get the work under any circumstances ever. So don't worry about apologies. But I think it's important you hear how your staff is representing you. Because I will share my experience with anyone that asks.
