Master Plumbing installed a ductless air conditioner in our basement last week. From beginning to end the experience was wonderful.
Jamie, the owner quickly came to my home to explain the procedure. After I agreed to the price he scheduled an install date in the near future. On the day of the installation he arrived with the crew and supervised the procedure. The installers were neat and professional.
Called this company as they are the sticker on the front of my boiler. They took over the service/contract of the old Powersmith customers. While I appreciate the prompt arrival, I am fairly unsatisfied with the pricing that was charged. I own a bunch of properties. I had an idea that something like this probably costs like $800 range, as it was not an emergency call. As I was quoted $1300+. Due to health conditions, we need the hot water to be up and running as soon as possible. I simply did not have time to get another company, but I am certainly not going to use this company for the pricing charged. Looking up the parts (about $350, which is like $225 part with a 50% markup) and the 20minutes the technician took to install it. $1000 for labor/diagnostic is a bit ridiculous.
Not to mention, they were quick to call me for my CC info, but slow at providing an itemized bill. Technician said he doesn't have a printer, the office says the tech can provide it. I hate this type of back and forth between tech and office.
Yes let's not go back and forth it was plumbing and heating which also involves electrical services due to the fact that I was looking to have mini split units installed. But you're so sure that you didn't do anything wrong and you not showing up at all makes you what a good company? I know exactly what I called you're company for and if it makes you feel better to try and put me down that just goes to show who you're company really is instead of apologizing for a flat tire. It appears you can't live with the fact that you screwed up and now want to try and make the customer look bad. Bravo!! You feel better now? Hope you're not religious people especially Cynthia. Very well then. Oh and the Happy Holidays at the end of you're reply please you don't mean a word of it. I would like to say it's beneath you but I know better.
I called them to repair the hot water $800 of labor and $400 in parts. The repair did not last a week, when I called them back out for a job that was supposed to be under warranty they charged me $150 for the visit insisting it was a coincidence that it broke again. They quoted me nearly 2 grand for another repair. I've been paying a monthly maintenance contract for the last few years these are ""member"" prices. Go anywhere else!
Eric S.We started with just a pilot light that wouldn't ignite. I'm so burnt out on dealing with the inefficiency of this company that it totally disgusts me! Owner came out the first time and my wife inquired about changing the fire place from wood burning to gas. NEVER A FOLLOW-UP! Then all these suppositions of why we never have hot water and pilot light doesn't stay on. Multiple mornings of my kids, wife and myself taking cold showers. What fun! This company couldn't care any less. We purchased their ridiculous service contract where I should have taken the money out of my wallet and thrown it in the garbage as the ""contract"" covers nothing! A coil that at Home Depot costs $4 cost me $154 and replaced 3 times and still never fixed correctly.. Another Einstein theory came across to change a part that cost $925 but needed approval of the ""Owner"" of the company. The technician called him twice and no answer. What a surprise by the great customer service of the owner! Then supposedly there wasn't enough air in the basement to circulate through the furnace to keep the pilot light on. Lol.. What a joke! Then they wanted to cut a hole in the house foundation to place a pipe to allow in the basement.... RIDICULOUS! They then cement the flue to the foundation wall when that wasn't even close to being the problem. Again, no pilot light! Well, lets try changing this other switch and see if it works.... Let's pay more money for absolutely nothing!!! That wasn't the problem, AGAIN! A friend recommended a friend of his that we asked to take a look at our system and we explained what was going on and he took a look at the unit and in less then 10 minutes and $3 the system works, all the system lights are green, no clicking of the ignitor attempting to ignite.. plenty of hot water for everyone one! Moral of this story begining April 2020-June2020, don't waste your money on monthly service contracts that provide no service or parts and only lightened your bank account and do not use this company because they obviously don't care at the top of this company although the technicians and customer service are nice but poor follow up and I need to learn to tip for good effective service and not tip just for the sake of tipping although the technicians were nice and really need to learn more systems to troubleshoot properly to fix problems the first time and not have to come out 6 times..They need to hire EXPERIENCED people in HVAC so its corrected the first and not after months but its obvious all they care about is billing customers time after time for absolutely nothing! You should be ashamed of yourself and are disgusting that you do this to people.... i inquired with other friends and they have used you and have the EXACT same complaints! My fault is that I didn't ask them first! Your 3.5 rating must have come from family members and even they couldn't give you a 5!
I would caution against this service provider. Not only did they demand a large upfront payment for a service call on a relatively new hot water heater, but also they refused to honor their written warranty.
John the plumber seems solid, but his brother Joe who manages the office is disreputable.
They won't do a bad job initially, but they will hurt you on the maintenance. Such a pity; I simply do not trust them. I would avoid this company,
I had Green Homes LI do an oil to gas conversion on my newly purchased house, and I couldn't be happier. The company owner, Jamie, came to my house initially to give me an estimate. Unlike some of the other companies I had come in for an estimate, Jamie took the time to explain what system would work best for my needs, explain how the systems work, and how they would be installed. I received an estimate a day later that explained the entire scope of work. Their price came in ever so slightly higher than the other company we were considering ($200 more) but because Jamie took the time to explain everything so thoroughly, I decided to choose Green Homes LI. Through no fault of their own, the installation was delayed for several weeks. This was due to National Grid continuously putting the project off for weeks on end. Once National Grid finally ran the gas to the house, Green Homes LI quickly scheduled the install and arranged everything, including the town inspector. Communication from the very beginning until the day before the installation was excellent. Installation coordinator Marcelo was very responsive to emails and providing me with updates throughout the delay.
The install took two days, and the crew arrived perfectly on time both mornings. They prepped my house extremely well, placing drop cloths on my washer and dryer (boiler is located in a laundry room) and putting down protective plastic from the front door to the laundry room, and down into my finished basement. The extra prep time and cleanliness was really appreciated. As for the installation...very impressive. All copper piping was run very neatly, which most people might not care about however as someone who appreciates quality workmanship, it mattered to me. It was clear that this crew took pride in their work. Once the install was complete, installer Jose took the time to go over and explain everything.
Overall I have nothing but good things to say and I would highly recommend Green Homes LI for your oil to gas conversion needs.
run far and fast away from this company once they get their foot in your door you had better have your checkbook handy because they charge you thru the roof for any work that is needed example to top off my freon over $500.00 are you kidding me so basically when you buy a service contract they charge you $159.00 to come to your house and tell you yes your a/c is or is not working properly, anything else you have to sell your 1st born child to pay for it

I had the WORST experience with this company! I had the company come by to give me an estimate on my central air unit, I was charged $170 for the visit. The ""technician"" stated I needed a completely new unit and that my unit was too old. A few days later two gentlemen visited to give pricing and quoted me $8,800 and if I decided that moment they would discount $800. I decided to get a second opinion from another company, who was able to fix the unit with a simple $10 electrical fix. Apparently there was nothing wrong with the unit there just wasn't enough voltage to power the unit and needed a voltage fix which was a $10 part from home depot. When I asked for a refund for the $170 from green homes because I was charged for diagnosis which was incorrect, they gave me a run around and never refunded me. The worst experience, and customer service imaginable. the manager Jeanine is absolutely RUDE & NASTY, I would NEVER recommend this company. This company doesn't even deserve 1 star.
Debbie F.We have used this company for over 10 years for two homes. They have maintained both my heating and cooling units. The service is on time, efficient and always courteous. They found a gas leak in a basement pipe when our local fire department's meter was registering no leak. The office workers are always professional and friendly when we call.
