I called Mascetti's to fix a backup in my shower after having my septic tank cleaned. They came out when scheduled and did a great job. My only complaint is that I didn't know (and wasn't told) they don't accept credit cards. If that's not an issue for you, then these guys are the guys to call.
Mime came to fix a leaky faucet this morning. He was great! I spoke with his wife when J called to make an appointment, very pleasant. He was excellent in communicating when he'd be there. He called as he was leaving and said what his approximate arrival time would be. Very sincere, good work, fair pricing. Would highly recommend!
Stella L.Did the job, but charged an insane amount of money to hook up a washing machine ($425). He seemed to know we were over a barrel as we were trying to move in to a house. I had relied on the reviews here that said he was fair, but this did not seem like a fair amount, even including his travel time. Would not call again. If you do, get a quote in advance.
Great company. Will help you out. I was in a bind and the owner helped me over the phone. He could have said i'll come over and charge, but he was really honest and walked me thru my problem. If ever i need a plumber. This is my goto company. Yes , i would and am recommending this company.
Owner called to say they had an emergency and would be late. Called again to say they were on their way. Took care of task (leaky faucet) and showed me how to turn off outside line and bleed pipe. Very good service.
We called Mike EARLY on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend after being up all night with a flooded basement. Despite being swamped with calls and it being a busy holiday weekend, Mike made time to give us immediate advice over the phone before coming over to our house quickly. He and his assistant Steve were kind, honest, and knowledgeable about the issue (broken pressure valve). They salvaged a weekend that could've been a disaster with their professionalism, responsiveness, and overall amazing work. We'll be keeping their info and passing it along to anyone in town. Thank you Mike and Steve!
DO NOT HIRE IF YOU ARE A WOMAN. I hired this company because I had flooding backing up to my basement sink and it was the Wednesday before Christmas. Since it was raining, he suggested calling the town. I did and they said their part was fine. After calling him back, he seemed annoyed but agreed to come out. Long story short, the spot they told me my main sewer line was broken, due to their fancy tools, is what I now know was my house trap. They charged me $1,300.00 cash or check to basically snake half the line and falsely diagnose!! I was speechless on the amount, but paid it as I was in the bind and he already did what they did and I'm being told I still have to replace my main sewer line outside! They were ready to come the next day to rip out the main sewer line and replace it. This all would have cost me several thousands of dollars. So I called Eversource after due to new gas line in the same area. They were the ones to find the very spot that was supposedly broken to be the house trap. Only 6"" below the surface. That was the issue. Hired another person to come and snake the rest out and he cleared it. What he would have only charged me $225. After he found out how much I paid for their wrong doing, he wouldn't take my money. Next I have an actual plumber coming to bring my trap up to grade - costing me about $200-$250. All in all, total true cost would be $575 - which less than HALF of what these thieves charged me. I believe because I was a single woman in a bind, he took complete advantage. Do not hire if you are a single woman!!!!
Scott D.Mike was a great help when our older cast iron sewer pipe became an issue. He was able to find the problem and complete a solution quickly. The timing was critical as we were not able to use our toilets, showers, washing machine, or sinks.
Thanks Mike!
Julie V.The Saturday after Thanksgiving, my husband found a large puddle in our basement, and found a leak in a pipe coming in from our well, and we had to turn off all of the water. We called other plumbers and left messages but got no response. My husband went out to get supplies to try to fix it himself but was nervous. While he was gone, I found them on Yelp with 3 great reviews and I called Mike's number. The woman who answered the phone was so sweet and helpful and said she would contact the guys. I did do a follow up after a while and Mike was still on another job. Mike immediately called us back and told my husband something he hadn't tried, heating the pipe, and it was just what we needed to know and were able to fix it ourselves, thanks to him sharing his knowledge and expertise with us over the phone.
These are generous people and I will certainly not hesitate to contact them again the next time we need something plumbing related. I certainly recommend them, and love that he was able to help us over the phone so it could be fixed quicker. THANK YOU for being the people that are there and answer the phone for these emergencies!!
Mascetti's is the absolute best!
I recently bought an old house and I called Mascetti's to investigate a dripping noise in our upstairs bathroom. Whenever our shower was on, we heard a dripping noise from the kitchen ceiling. However, we heard nothing when the bathtub was on, so I suspected it was a leaky the shower pipe.
I called Mascetti's and Mike asked me to investigate a few things before he came over. Is the tub properly caulked? Is the shower head in okay? Finally, he asked me to find the access panel, and see if the shower pipe is wet when turned on.
After I told him that it wasn't wet, he told me to describe the noise again. It happens a few seconds after the shower is on (cold or hot) and it stops a few minutes after the shower is off.
Turns out... it's just the hot water pipe creaking! I feel like an idiot, but Mike never made me feel dumb. He stayed with me on the phone for 20 minutes to debug the problem and didn't charge me a dime. He was professional, he picked up the phone immediately, and he was really helpful. Thanks, Mike!
