Michael S.Steer clear of this business ...!! Very disrespectful arrogant !! Was told by a very nice operator who answered the phone that they would be coming out the next day between 9 and 11 AM to do a free estimate on repairing a broken shower faucet kit !! I had to cancel the doctor appointment for this and they never showed up instead sent me a text with the sky high estimate and when I confronted them about the inconvenience caused by them lying to me I took a lot of badmouthing from this Michael.... Very very disrespectful arrogant and .. I got the information I was dealing with someone who is committing two of the 7 deadly sins....both GREED and SLOTH..... Best describes the personality on the other end of the text !! Do yourself a favor shop around !! Very sad how people like this are even making it in business ....if they even are !!! ....very terrible terrible terrible !! Very nasty and arrogant !! .!!!
Carlaine J.Martinellis is a great company with an amazing staff!!
Had a plumbing emergency and the office staff was professional, friendly, and timely on the phone.
Was able to get me an estimate and come out the same day. Pricing was competitive but the staff made the difference. The guys were friendly, clean, and so understanding.
Will definitely utilize martinellis again in the future. Highly recommend.
I was selling my house and the township denied a certificate of occupancy because the water heater had been installed without a permit. I called Martinelli and was charged $275 for the initial visit just to inspect the heater. When I asked the technician for an estimate, he told me not to worry because all he has to do was co replace two pipes to copper pipes to meet the code and that would cost ""$100 give or take a couple more dollars"" (his words). After obtaining the permit from the township, I was given an estimate for $1200 and when I questioned that, I was told that if I didn't use them, they would void the permit and any plumber I hired would have to obtain their own permit. Out of desperation because I needed the Certificate of Occupancy for the buyer at closing, I was forced to use them. They are ruthless, unconscionable, and very unprofessional. Stay away from these crooks.
Mely M.Stay away! Worst place to find a plumber, I called and one of his guys jack stern came to our house. Long story short, he left with money and never came back! I don't even know how they have a license.
Well, I'd give 0 stars if I could. If you take away anything from this review and the others it is that this guy is so rude and definitely has anger management issues. I left a message and mr. Martinelli called me back while driving. He sounded pleasant and said he would call me back in a few hours to schedule me in this week. The call never came so at 8pm, I sent a text message to the number just mentioning that I never heard back and asking that he call me the NEXT day. He responded with the rudest message: ""I don't forget anything and my cell isn't for strangers at 8 at night its for my wife kids elderly parents and customers that are in true need of service but people never seem to grasp that"".
Despite his rudeness and not to mention a website that says open Mon-Sun 24 hours, I was still apologetic and said that I did not realize it was a personal phone number and pointed out that I wasn't expecting a call back that night. This was his response: ""I see how it so confusing I should have 5 different phones or take my one phone and not be allowed to look at night for the people that can't be considerate I get it now I'm sorry I appreciate it""
That's when I decided to look him up on Yelp and saw these other reviews and realized I don't want this guy anywhere near my house.
Moe S.DO NOT USE JACK MARTINELLI!!!! Wholly unprofessional and a scam artist. We found him on Home Advisor back in July 2020. He had good reviews and seemed very nice ( HE IS NO LONGER LISTED ON HOME ADVISOR). We quickly learned the truth. We paid Jack Martinelli to put a water heater in our rental property. He tried to scam our insurance carrier (USAA) for $10,000 and charge us $1500. Needless to say, our insurance carrier didn't pay them that amount. My insurance carrier also recommended that we don't utilize their services ever again. They inflate prices and are very unprofessional. Also, the water heater wasn't installed up to the New Jersey code. We learned that through inspection, after receiving the inspection report on Friday (9/18/20). I called him (9/19/20) to discuss it and see when he can install the copper jumpers. He became rude and started cursing at me. Mind you, I called on a Saturday morning, and they were supposed to be 24 hours. He said, and I quote,"" what the F%ck do you want me to do about it at 8 clock on a Saturday morning. I'll call you on Monday."" then hung up the phone. Wow! PLEASE, PEOPLE DON'T USE THEM!!! There are too many NICE professional plumbers out there. This piece of POO doesn't need your.
Horrible Experience: Martinelli Plumbing & Heating (Burlington, NJ)
My air conditioner went on the fritz. Unsure what the problem is but need to get it serviced/replaced/something!
Went to Angie's List (as I frequently do...shout out to Angie's List). Researched companies and selected Martinelli Plumbing & Heating.
Called them. Jack Martinelli said he'd come out by 10am and we'd get things going.
He showed up at 2pm but okay, I'm desperate and was home anyway so...
Jack was the most rude and unprofessional contractor I've ever worked with and I've been a homeowner for 30 years. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
He showed up, was ready to walk in without a mask. He saw me give him a look and then asked if I wanted him to go back to his truck to get a mask. I replied that I would. He replied, and in a nasty tone, ""Then you wear one, too!"" I told him that wasn't a problem.
Jack came in. I told him my air conditioner wasn't putting out cold air. We went into my basement. He looked at my heater first and immediately told me that my furnace needed to be replaced (60 seconds after being in my basement); that carbon monoxide would leak from it. I told him a) you're here to look at my air conditioner, not my heater and b) I have carbon monoxide detectors that should work. He said, ""Well then if your kids die, that's on you. I wouldn't do it but that's on you."" Jack started using HVAC terms he knew I wouldn't understand but never pulled anything apart inside. We were in the basement for 3 minutes, maximum.
We then went outside. He walked to the fan and it wasn't running (side of the house). He never even walked over to look at it, see if there were any issues with the wires/cable...NOTHING! He just told me that this is a serious problem, my unit is too old to repair and that to replace it, it would cost me $10,000 with him and $15,000 if I went to other competitors of his listed on this site. This is all within 5 minutes of him arriving at my house...no exaggeration. I told him this was a lot to take in (meaning, no mask, rude comment, if my kids die they die, not looking at the unit outside, quoting my $10K without even looking at anything) and that I needed a little time to process this. He was rude and nasty and I told him, ""We're done.""
As he was walking away, he was saying things under his breath as he walked back to his truck. I made the mistake of asking this moron what he said. He screamed up the driveway, ""BRAINLESS"" as if to say I'm brainless. I responded with a few expletives as he did and I thought this was going to progress to getting physical. He was wise to drive away when he did. I'll leave it at that so I don't get myself into trouble here.
I've been in Sales for 3 decades and try my best to give the service I expect to get. This guy is a fraud. Who shows up, tries to scare you into buying by telling you your kids could die, quotes $10,000 without touching anything and all within 5 minutes? Use this company at your peril. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Don't take my word for it. Go see their D+ rating from the Better Business Bureau: https://www.bbb.org/us/nj/hainesport-township/profile/plumber/martinelli-plumbing-and-heating-inc-0221-90169153/overview-of-bbb-ratings
After getting several estimates for a walk-in tub I went with Martinelli Plumbing even though their price was about $5K more expensive because I wanted a local company and because their salesperson told me they had installed hundreds of walk-in tubs and had worked extensively in my neighborhood so they understood the ""quirks"" of the houses.
On the first day they cut the water main which flooded the bathroom and adjacent laundry room. It was an accident and, aside from the mess, I didn't get upset. They said they would use some equipment to check the walls to make sure no water got inside but they didn't. When I brought it up they just put their hand on the floor and said it felt fine.
The next day they determined that, even though they had measured several times, the tub would not fit through the bathroom door. They determined that they would have to bring it into the adjacent bedroom and cut out the wall and pipes to slide the tub in. It worked but the resulting dry wall repairs were extensive and very messy, dust throughout the whole house. They put in new pipes and a day later, when the tub wouldn't drain properly, discovered that it had been piped backwards...another repair. The wall between the bathroom and laundry room also had to be removed because of the flooding and pipe repair and when that was repaired they forgot to reconnect the condensate drain from the furnace resulting in another flood in the laundry room over the weekend.
The next day they came to me and said I'd need to pay $600 for an electrician to wire the auto drain. I reminded them that they told me it didn't need a power drain, that it would drain in the traditional gravity drain. Turns out that wasn't true, the weight of the water would never allow it to drain without the pump. I refused to pay any more money since I was already paying $5K over the other estimates.
Next was installing the new toilet I had paid for. I noticed that the toilet they were about to install was used. I pointed it out, they went out on the porch and made a call and went to get a new toilet.
So many things just shouldn't have happened in a professional job and certainly not in a job that was so much more expensive than other estimates. Rich, the owner, asked what he could do to make up for it and I said that he could give me a refund of whatever he thought was fair. That was weeks ago, I never heard from him again.
Kathy H.DO NOT HIRE !! Worst company I have ever dealt with and I have renovated three very large houses in the past eight years. I try to use local companies but after having these guys prove to be so unprofessional and corrupt I eventually had to bring in a contractor from a different county whom I had used before. Martinellis service manager, Jack, was extremely rude & unprofessional, yelling , screaming and eventually refusing to schedule work on my property until the owner , Rich , became involved. The workers still only showed sporadically and after six weeks still had not completed the A.C. for the first floor. I had agreed to a higher price due to the timing - mid summer heat wave- but received the worst customer service and workmanship. Martinelli was supposed to install a 14 seer ... they installed a 13 instead. None of the duct seams were sealed. Insulation was never wrapped around the duct work as required. Some of the connections were not even bolted together!!! I had paid 50 % Of the final price initially.... they then wanted more money.... which I did not pay. I informed them to come finish the first floor work and pick up the materials they had left there for the second floor. Martinellis technician arrived, George, met my 24 year old son ( I was at work) , told my son he'd finish the work once they loaded up the other materials but , of course... George lied. I have spoken to Rich Martinelli , I have requested a refund of 4,000$ since they did not complete the first floor and installed the wrong size unit, I have filed a complaint with the BBB . It has been two months since they cleared out the extra equipment. I still have two 18x 32 inch holes in my drywall because they never installed the vent covers !!!! DO NOT USE MARTINELLI PLUMBING AND HEATING FROM HAINESPORT NJ .... !!!!!!!!
