I used to share high opinion of Martel plumbing until about two months ago . Gave them plenty of business , paid them promptly . One day , two months ago I asked for more details on the invoice which I already paid . Never questioned the charge ! All of my future requests for service on variety of accounts were not responded to or pretty much dismissed . According to reviews on google , that happened to other customers . The lesson I learned here is that as long as you ""behave "" and ""pay and stay quiet "" you are a customer . Other than that , and you are no longer welcomed .

Called Jim about a concern I had with freezing pipes ( since it has been over 14 degrees all week) he was there the same day. He definitely understood my concern and didn't want to take any chances. He came right in and fill the system with antifreeze. He was extremely professional and the price was amazing. Especially for same day service! Hopefully I don't need a plumber often but when I do I'm calling Martel back.

BEST plumber in RI, period! I have used them about 5x and every service has been beyond professional + personable in addition to honestly priced. Friends have paid hundreds of dollars more for the same services he did for us. You will get an honest straight-forward service and/or estimate every time, no getting jerked around like you do with other plumbers!

Small family business at its BEST! I've been using Jim and his guys since around 2003. Back then, they completed a full scale heating system in my basement which was not an easy project by any means. They stuck to the budget without adding any ""surprises"" to the bill and kept the lines of communication open throughout the process. Over the years, I've had the usual homeowner issues with water heaters, flooding from mice chewing through dishwasher hoses, heat loss before a snowstorm at my dad's house who lives down the street, etc. Jim ALWAYS gets back to me with a window of time that he will be by so I'm not stressing out next to the phone. I'm a single homeowner and have felt the rates were reasonable (especially since I knew the job would always be done right on the FIRST visit) Also, it should be mentioned that they are considerate of your home and cleaning up afterwards. I wish more home services/contractors were as reliable, honest, and skilled as these guys!

I've used them twice- luckily I haven't had many plumbing issues that required professional help!
We used them in our old house to repair a faulty tub drain and in the new house to fix a leaking toilet.
They are on time, very courteous, efficient and professional. I have nothing bad at all to say about them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a plumber!!

Jim and his team were great! They installed a new heating system and a water heater for us. They also had someone some in and take the old water heater and oil tank out. Now our basement is updated and so much roomier. They also came back the next day and did a couple of small things that were the other company's responsibility. They did my in laws new heating system a few months ago too, that's where I heard about the company. We are planning on doing a full bath remodel this year and would definitely use these guys again. Thank you very much!

I would never hire him again!!!!!
Was okay at first because I hired him to install a new boiler..
Troubles started with leaks.... Difficult to get in touch with....
Did not want to install something that was code. Never installed, had to hire someone else.

Jim and his team are incredible! I had been planning this project for over a year, got numerous quotes and talked to many different professionals. The process of converting oil to gas was seamless with the Martel team. They were clean, professional, knowledgable and always accessible. While doing the project they always kept me up to date and aware of the status, any changes or suggestions they had. Would highly recommend the entire team - thank you so much for the great work!

This started out as a good working relationship. They came over, were professional, friendly, and committed to following up with a quote. Reached out to them 3x by phone and they never replied back. Pretty disappointed as we had high hopes for this company.
