After my father and brother used these people for years, I inherited a home and had an emergency need for service. On brother's recommendation I called Martel. Since I have not used them before they said they wouldn't do anything, not even a call back, until Monday. This was Saturday AM....and my tenants have no heat or hot water. Horrible service, I'll NEVER use them...and will do all I am able to makes sure my brother doesn't for his home or for the 7 apartment unit / 3 storefront building that we own. Huge fail.

I had Blair and Al in my apartment this morning to fix a heating issue. These guys are very professional and respectful. I'm very impressed and beyond grateful. Due to our religious beliefs we do not wear shoes in our home and they took no issue in wearing covers to accommodate our request. As they were working, they asked me to move our prayer rugs, so as not to get them dirty. It may sound like a small gesture but for me that is HUGE. I definitely recommend and in the future if I own my own home I would not hesitate to call them for service.

They came to my house to repair a shower valve that was not giving enough hot water. He told my wife he did not know if rebuilding the valve would fix it or not and recommended replacing the valve at a cost of $600 or more. He said he did repair a leak and my wife said she would think about replacement. The total cost for the trip out was $330 which included drive time that we were never told about at $95 an hour they say it was a hour round trip from Dover to Barrington.
I opened the wall to do they valve replacement myself to find he did not fix the leak at all. I would never recommend them to anyone

I don't usually write Yelp reviews but I wanted to thank Martel plumbing for its exceptional customer service. I had an unexpected plumbing problem and they were already booked solid. However, they took the time to find me another reputable company to come fix the pipes and even called back to make sure I was all set. I can say enough good things about Martel Plumbing and Heating. I will call them in the future!

I have to commend Martel P &H for exceptional customer service and follow up. They installed central AC in the condo I purchased in May 2016. I had some water leakage issues from the install mostly due in part to the wrong diameter tubing that was put in prior to Martel (not Martel issue). I called them months later to have them come back out and take a look at it and Ed the President came out to look first hand at the issue. He went out to get new tubing among other ""fixes"" and the water leakage is now resolved. I received a bill from them in error and when I called to inquire about it, they immediately told me to disregard and apologized and that I should not have been billed.
Exceptional customer service for sure and accountability which is so important in today's competitive market place.
I would highly recommend Martel P & H to anyone who needs AC or heating services. They are very trustworthy and stand behind their products and services!

Stay away. Yes they answer their phone ,schedule appointment, show up on time BUT once you sign the waiver after they perform work- you are subject to paying them to come back and fix it. Service manager is a real a hole.... just a fair warning . The service plumbers were very nice and appear to do good work... BUT if you provide your own parts and they put it in WRONG you are screwed!!! Beware.

Never returned my call. We did stop by their office once to get plumbing fixture which they had, but that was it.

Decided to give 4 stars for working for us on septic line hook up, after others have failed to respond. Not liking that they didn't respond to both of my calls when requesting for work but responded to my hubby's call. What don't want to talk to a woman?

Although they did great work and their prices affordable, a tech's suggestion might not always be right. His suggestion almost guaranteed their job, meaning we would have to call them back to help unclog the bath drain.

I am a landlord. When I have to be sure a repair or service call is done right away and done correctly (all to code, no short cuts) I call Martel. I was away recently when a hot water heater burst. I called Martel and the words ""it will be taken care of"" put me at ease. The job was professional and looks great. Not the cheapest in town - but you get what you pay for. Here it is quality, and service.

I've used Martel several times since I bought my house 5 yrs ago, for various plumbing needs, including a complete replacement of a shower. they're very polite, explain things completely, and have never exceeded the quote given. They're always my first pick.
