I am discouraged by Margo Plumbing. We thought of them as our trusted plumber. My mom in Cedar Grove had a small leak from tank bolt. Margo plumbing gave her a $1300 estimate. New toilet and shut off valve?? What? Honest plumber got a new bolt kit for $7.98 and fixed the problem. I guess Margo is dishonest. Sad. Going to make their money off the elderly or those who do not know. I would recommend you try another plumber. Lack of God and lack of integrity. Shame on Margo.

I cannot sing enough praises about MarGo. We moved to Montclair almost 3 years ago and went through a slew of inept companies who patched over things and charged us an arm and a leg. Fast forward, we finally found MarGo to fix basically every heating, air conditioning and plumbing issue for our home that was built in 1880. They are top notch and I have recommended them to everyone I know. They truly do everything right and clean. They have the most trusted and kind people working for them. From Mary, the executive assistant, to mike and Dino. And the owner himself has come to fix several things for us at a last minutes request. Also, during this time it's hard to have someone in your home. They wore masks and shoe covers and distanced themselves. Very respectful. I have two small children and felt comfortable with them coming in and out of our place. If you want something done the RIGHT WAY from the get go, use MarGo. They truly care about their customers and do an impeccable job every time. They won't over charge you for anything unnecessary. You definitely pay for what you get and are given proper expectations for what's best for your home.

Outrageously dishonest. We were quoted $1300 to completely replace a leaky faucet and a few other minor things; my second opinion told us we just needed a $50 part from Amazon that I could install myself. It took me 10 minutes to install the part and another 5 minutes to address the other minor issues via YouTube. Thank goodness we didn't go with them!

I took off of work due to my blockage issue and called MarGo. I called at 9:30am and they finally arrived at 2:15pm. Both gentlemen walked my home to evaluate, went to their van, came back and recommended another company who specializes on sewer and drain backup.
I was really disappointed MarGo plumbing didn't even attempt to snake the line. I made it clear that I waited all day for them and this is not acceptable.
Hesitant to call the recommended company, Speedy, I did and they told me they are too busy and have plumbers on vacation so they couldn't service me either.
Very disappointed with both companies and do NOT recommend them to anyone. Don't waste time because I did. I won't get that time back!

FYI- I called another plumbing company at 2:45pm, they arrived at 4pm and fixed the issue at 5pm. They snaked the line 80' and all clear. They even cleaned up after themselves! Very reliable, honest and competitive!

This review is based on estimate for HVAC work. I hope you're rich and don't have time to get competitive quotes. These guys are super friendly and knowledgeable but crazy expensive. I am saving over $4,000 on their $10,000 scope of work by going with a competitor.

Complete Rip off $$$$ if you live in Montclair, NJ. Do not use in emergency situation. No pricing transparency at all. Do not breakdown labor cost or products cost. I had pleasant conversation on the phone that led me to believe they would be reasonable with price to replace broken hot water heater. Price I had to pay $4425 for a 50 gallon tank and installation. Had no choice. That did not include $700 for water pan and alarm. Checked price on line it is a $50 item.

Very expensive, considering it took less than an hour to fix my toilet and with inexpensive parts.
After they were done the leak continued and they sent the next day another technician to undo and repair what the first technician did.
Be careful with them, personally I will never use them again

MarGo Plumbing, Heating & Cooling is a life saver. First the fact that they can address all three is fantastic, because you can deal with one provider who knows your house and your needs. They couldn't be more responsive. We bought a new (old) house and moved in less than a week ago. Record breaking cold has brought to life issues with heating and a resulting pipe freeze. Joe, the owner, came out himself and spent hours looking at and assessing the problems. His approach was to prioritize the issues, explain why, and focused on comfort with minimal disruption (cutting of walls, ceilings, etc.). We are awaiting our estimate now for the first several areas. The very next day, we had a frozen pipe. Joe came out again, thawed it out, showed us where the water main was, and also had suggestions for prevention as a follow up. Unfortunately, I think I may need to have them on speed dial for a while given this old house, but am glad they are there an willing to help! Highly recommend them!!

I, reluctantly, write this review. In fact, it's taken me a year since the event to write it. The air conditioner at my son's rental property was not working and I went out to meet the Mar Go repairman who diagnosed the problem as a faulty capacitor. The diagnosis costs $99 and the cost to replace the capacitor was $450 for a total of $549. They require you to sign approval of that amount before any work is begun.
Two weeks later, I had the identical problem with my own central air conditioner and my air conditioner repairman charged $140 to replace the capacitor.
I called Mar Go to see if they would make some amount of price adjustment and they, adamantly, refused. Not even an amount as small as $30.
As they say, let the buyer beware.

This is a very bad experience.

They do inspection for $105 and give a quote of $12000 for replacing a whole heater.

I found another contractor and fixed the heater for just $730.

I still pay $105 for them to cheat me.

I called them because of the review here but
I will never go back again!
