Absolutely avoid this company. Like the other reviews they showed up, collected money and then didn't complete the work. They don't answer their phone and will not return voice mails.

The technicians were polite and did a good job. I had a water heater installed and my shower didn't work and they came right out and fixed it. It turns out there was sediment in my shower line that got clogged when starting the new hot water heater-so it was only secondary to the HW heater yet they came right out and fixed it for me. Very nice guys.

One suggestion, the communication could be better. I would think a customer should expect a callback within 24 hours.

Is it possible to give NO STARS?? Do not use this company. They are in contract with my home warranty company & have horrible customer service. I can't speak to their work bc they never came back. I never heard from them. Nothing. Called and called ... only an answering machine. No address, only a P.O. Box. Showed up at my house gave a couple of guesses & left. Absolutely the worst customer service ever.

Marathon services is a plumbing chop shop and a scam. I was assigned to them via my home warranty service, and they are terrible. Because they have to be the lowest bidder for a home warranty contract, their profit margin is low. They supplement this by tacking on ridiculous additional fees that have to be paid by the homeowner on top of the home warranty deductible. I had a water heater replaced in 2016 by a more reputable company with the home warranty company, and they didn't charge anything but the deductible. Marathon wanted an extra $320 to do the same thing to replace the water heater again this week. I will NEVER use Marathon for anything, and I cancelled my HMS home warranty to go with a different warranty provider. Told them to shove their replacement job and send me a check for a new water heater. I hired someone else to do it. AVOID MARATHON AND HMS HOME WARRANTY LIKE THE PLAGUE

I'm only giving them 1 star because it won't allow me to do a zero star rating. AWFUL. First of, it's almost impossible to get a hold of them to schedule service. When you finally do get someone (and I want to stress how difficult this is), he WILL be rude. Then, the tech will call you from a ""No Caller ID"" phone number; if you miss it's guess work. If you call Marathon's main number to ask if someone is on their way the guy will say ""Uhh...i mean, prolly""--He won't call the tech on his end to verify, he just guesses. This is just getting someone.

When you actually do get someone, they'll be unprepared and not have all the tools they need (asking if you have adapters/extension cords/etc). They'll leave a mess in your bathtub and not clean up the job area. Also, if the job is going to be more than a simple task, the tech will tell you that he is going to have to do another job, but he'll let Marathon know and they'll reschedule. The tech will leave and you'll never hear from Marathon again. You'll have to call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, and call, AND CALL, because they do NOT return voicemails or emails. When you call you Home Warranty company to ask WTF is going on, the warranty company will be told they need to email Marathon Services the claim number because they have no record of the job.

If you are looking for a plumber, do not contact them because the'll leave you high and dry. If they get assigned to you through your home warranty company, ask for another provider.

I seriously wish I could give them ZERO stars!

We were forced to have them come out through our warranty company (HMS). We had them come out because we understood the waterline to our spigot was broken. They came out. Collected our $100. Left. And then NEVER communicated with us what the issue was or what next steps would be taken to fix it. I logged in to our warranty portal and saw that the ticket was closed. The warranty company told me because the issue is outside of the house, they won't cover it. Marathon didn't even communicate that with us!!! And that would have been nice to know before Marathon literally came over and robbed us. I tried contacting Marathon about the issue, left a message and they never returned my call.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE IF YOU CAN!

Buyer beware. This company does not perform the services it agrees to. It is in a racket with the warranty company Total Home Protection. Carl comes out and diagnosis your iisue in a manner that is not covered by the warranty company so the warranty company has the ability to deny your claim. Carl makes money by creating a story that the warranty company can use to deny your claim and Carl charges your service fee. Do not use marathon services and do not use total home protection. Carl was on site at my location for 10 minutes never touched the issue at hand and required payment. Buyer beware

I was stuck using this company through our home warranty. They DO NOT answer calls and don't return voicemails. I had to call my home warranty to help me contact them. They neglect to tell you there are uncovered charges until after the work is done. They put a hole in my wall and a gash in my hardwood floors carrying out my old water heater. It's a shame the ""boss"" is horrible to work with because the technician/plumber who did the actual work seemed nice. I just only hope the technician's work was done well and we don't have issues with our new water heater. Do not use this company!!!!

We were directed to this company through our home warranty company. I set up the appointment through my home warranty company and then was transferred to them to verify the appointment and time. I left a voicemail around noon and was called back a little after five. I notice several other reviews said their customer service was lacking, but that was not at all what I experienced. The guy on the phone was very nice. The appointment was schedule between 8-12 for the next day. The guy (sorry I don't remember his name) showed up a little after 9:30. He was very polite, listened to me explain the problem and went right to work. Within 30 minutes he had it fixed! I honestly couldn't of asked for any better service. I'd highly recommend them to anybody!!

Horrible customer service! We are owner/landlord of a residential property. Had plumbing leak/issue. Used our Homeowner's Warranty, set up an appointment, called the company to confirm time. We asked owner, Carl, if he would give a call ahead 15-20 minutes before they would show up, he said yes he would. Got a call on the day of service within the scheduled time frame, stating we needed to pay him over the phone because the ""job was done."" I asked him why he didn't give a courtesy call ahead of time so that the owners could be there during the service. He stated, ""well the job is already done so I need the payment."" I refused to pay him over the phone and stated we would be there in 10 minutes to review the work and pay him. He states that if we dont pay him, he will take the parts out and leave. Carl also stated that it isn't mandatory to give a courtesy call and that they do only to be nice sometimes. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE.
