Recommended Customer Reviews
I would not recommend this company. I had them come it to fix a faulty washing machine drain. After their ""master plumber"" representative evaluated the problem, he determined that there was a blockage in the line (which was correct). After this point is where it went south. Being unable to get his snake past the initial trap, his recommendation was to remove and replace all the piping behind the washing machine at cost of ~$450 and then charge me and additional ~$175 to run the snake through. When I asked him if there are any other solutions, he determined there were not claiming he didn't have a smaller snake or proper pipe components required to do the job. Citing workforce incompetence, I chose to refuse paying their mandatory charge of $125 which was padded with an additional ""fuel"" fee of $10. Upon my refusal to pay, I was told by a company representative that the police were going to alerted, called to my home and that I was going to be arrested and therefore decided to pay. (After speaking with an attorney, I was advised that this was a civil matter and that this would not be the case. Shame on me for not knowing that beforehand. ) Alas, I had an alternative company come in to evaluate the problem a short while later. They determined also that there was a clog, proceeded to remove it through the vent pipe and were finished. Thank you for letting me share my experience with you, have a great day.
Expensive but very quick to respond, and do a good job when here. We are very pleased, especially with SID who was the person who came.
Joe B...you forgot to emphasize the most important part of our job...our problem was NOT fixed in the least, as we are still without hot water and heat in the dead of winter. BBB will be notified accordingly of their shoddy work and customer service to boot. FYI, ""usnavien.com"" is the URL that was provided to us by Navien technical department, when in fact, the legitimate website URL is ""us.navien.com"". The first site is merely a sham and just redirects you to Mangano Plumbing Sewer & Drain, which is the only reason we used this company in the first place! They do NOT provide good customer service in any way, shape or form and they need to be called out on their garbage. Customer service aside, they need to own up to their negligence in completing jobs and falsely advertising their expertise. Their motto should be ""We'll charge you more than others and when you complain about the job not being resolved the first, second or even third time, we'll dismiss your argument and blame you for not knowing better than to use our company in the first place."" And when you call them out for their terrible customer service and merely try to warn other potential customers of the quality of work they can expect to receive, they'll hurl rude and dishonest insults at you in an effort to hide their disgusting company policies. I commend anyone who writes an honest review knowing they will undoubtedly face a barrage of insults as a result of doing so. Shame on us for not doing more research on this disreputable company. We now have to find another qualified plumber to fix our issue...
Adam M.If I could give zero stars I would. This is the worst plumbing experience I have ever had, the mechanic they sent out had no clue of what he was doing. They charged $400 to snake my main line the mechanic said the line was broke he tried to sell me another service said he needed to send a camera in the line to see where it was broke. After missing work the next day waiting for the sewer dept I called another plumber who came out and within 5 minutes said my line was not broken, he snaked it and cleared the roots that were in the line. He was in and out of my house in less than an hour. I am currently disputing the charges with my credit card because they refused to give me a refund. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.
Darlene A.I actually felt ""sad"" after reading such negative reviews. I only had the best experience using Mangano to install a vessel sink, (a tricky job w/this sink & vanity) and a new toilet, both of which we purchased and the items were on site. My husband & I received very prompt service.
Our mechanic, Jeff, was personable and cleaned up as he progressed with the job. After pulling out the old toilet, we opened the shipping box for the new toilet, only to find it cracked.
Jeff was sympathetic and only charged us for the sink installation, saying, he would be back when the replacement toilet arrived.
I was very nervous about how much extra we were going to pay because of the necessary second visit. In total we were charged $545.00 plus taxes. All installations were checked for leaks and proper functioning. All work done was clearly printed on both work orders which I was asked to sign upon approval.
This is the third plumbing contractor we have used since we moved into our home three years again. We would definitely use them again, and, we would ask for Jeff.
Jessica E.To whom it may concern:
The response you provided for my negative review is completely untrue. We DID use Mangano for our house out east in Long Island. White Plains is my other residence. The records are under my husband's last name, which is different than mine. If you would like exact details to follow up on your disastrous service please contact me directly and I will provide the name the account is listed under. That way you can search exactly which untrained, unprofessional, and uneducated service technician you sent out to is. It appears, however, from all your other reviews that you treat all of your customers in a similarly terrible way.
Dianne B.NEVER AGAIN!!! Do not use these people unless you want to be ripped off! Of course a little too late, but we talked to an acquaintance who had almost the same exact problem we did, used another company, and had the same work done that we did, and he paid under $800!! We paid $1873!!! I had the work done on 3/17/16, and i have the receipt to prove that i had the work done, so lets see these people try to say they can't find my info and i must have them confused with someone else.
For those that want details, here ya go- We weren't sure if there was a clog or if the cesspool was full. I called early, i got a price of $225 to snake the main drain, and was told $295 to drain 1,000 gallons. Now, i am not denying them earning money, i get that, and i do not expect anything for free. BUT, this was one thing after another. The guy came, pokes around, says i have a septic tank and an overflow. I'll assume he is correct, i was never told this when i bought the house ten years ago. He starts to dig, sees a pipe coming up. First he says ""its illegal"" for him to suck anything out of that pipe, that he has to remove it, and if the septic tank is too low, he would have to put a riser, $125 per foot (we needed 2 feet) then add in $250 for the cover. Oh, wait, then add in the $250 to dig! I could have done it and i'm a 50 yr old female! So this young guy digs for ten minutes (soft ground to boot). So, we are at $250 plus $250 plus $250= $750. Then add in $295 to drain the septic and the overlow. $1390 now. Then $75 for the chemicals. $1465 now. And of course the drain had to be snaked. $225. Then add in tax. He also said the cap on the pipe coming from the overflow needed to be replaced. I said i can probably get it for $5 at Home Depot, and then i asked him how much he would charge for that. $25. You would think after spending $1873 that they'd throw in the cap! My husband looked online for prices on the riser and the cap, and they were a fraction of what they charged. Now, my husbands friend, he had all the exact stuff done, but, his overflow was under his driveway!! The guy cut into the driveway, and put a metal cap on his, and he was only charged $750!!! For all the same exact work i had Mangano do! Now why in the world should i think i was not ripped off?? Lets see how they are going to spin this. Have i said never again??
They lied to me and said they pump the 1000 gallons when if I was lucky they just aerated and added chemical because the cesspool level dropped about an inch. I Had a different company come in and they pumped 1000 gallons and aerated what a difference I wish I could show you the pictures. They did me wrong!!!!
Moises V.First time I use this company. They came and did work on my house for something I didn't ask for, was told they couldn't deal with some plumbing issue. I was given an estimate and price and at the end end up playing twice what was told, just to pump out water. The issue in my house is still not resolved. NEVER using them again! DO NOT recommend!!
The tech did not run all of the water in my home, just the kitchen sink. Had I checked the slop sink while he was there I would have notice that it was clogged as a result of his action.
I did not affirm that the tech jumped the house trap, forgive me but I don't even know what that means so I certainly can't affirm it.
He did not run water in the washing machine, if he did he would have noticed the clogged slop sink.
My complaint is that the job was not completed, not that it only took 10 minutes.
I did call to have my kitchen sink unclogged. this was in fact done but the slop sink was clogged as a result of this. You can tell me the laws of physics, plumbing doesn't work this way etc but the fact remains that the slop sink was clogged as a result of this.
Had I checked the slop sink prior to the tech leaving i would not have let him leave. When I did notice that the slop sink was clogged an hour or 2 later and called back that is what I am complaining about as discussed in my original post.
I am not trying to get something for ""free"" as you stated. I paid $190 to you and then had to pay another plumber to come and unclog the results of what your tech did.
I am not doubting that your techs do not work hard. this is poor customer service plain and simple. I called back within a couple of hours, not days later.
