I have had Steve Malloy at Malloy Plumbing do all my plumbing needs over the last couple of years and have always been more than satisfied. When I have asked about having some work done in the past, he said he is happy to do it but also offered a lower cost or no cost alternative, or simply showed me how something worked that I was doing wrong.
Last time I called him out for what I thought was going to be a major pipe leak fix, he assessed the situation, took out a wrench, and with a couple of turns of a loose nut had the problem fixed. Did not charge me anything, even a service call fee. He totally could have spent an hour under that sink ""fixing"" a leak and I would have been none the wiser.
Good, honest service. I can't ask for more than that.

I've had a long relationship with Malloy Plumbing through a small business that I was an administrator for & as a homeowner. Always satisfied with their work & service person that worked for them. Recently needed work done in my home & had to deal with owner. I was quoted a $15 service charge, which was okay & $85.00 per hour, which was fine. I was uncomfortable with the owner in my home, complaining about the age of things in my home, built in 1940's, yes, I realize my home is old. My project was to change spout on bathroom tub, install new cold & hot water handles on a refurbished 1940's pink tub. Clean kitchen drain that was baking up, & clean basement drain. The bill came & the hourly charge was $94 per hour. I asked that they honor the $85 per hour quoted & he was not willing to budge, bringing up invoices from years ago where I apparently paid $94 per hour. Needless to say, there are plenty of plumbers out there & I would no longer recommend them to anyone. I had a kitchen remodel done over two years ago & had an emergency situation when installing the cabinets & had to call someone immediately to get here, he continued to throw that situation in my face while arguing about the way to go into the pipes in my basement to clean kitchen line. I've had the kitchen drain cleaned before & it was through the line in the basement. Very sad that a long time customer & felt uncomfortable in my own home met with complaints the entire job & would not make an adjustment on the hourly rate that was quoted on the phone.

Malloy plumbing put in the plumbing in my house when it was built in 1984- over the years I have called them to come out when I needed them.
Sometimes they may be too busy to come right away but when it is urgent they are right there- like the time when NFM came to deliver my new fridge and they left the ice maker water tube uncrimped and leaking all over the floor. I called them and they came right over and never charged me anything.
They try to solve things over the phone with me if not an emergency. When I thought my floor drain was clogged it turned out i had a washing machine hose leak- so they saved me the house call.
This last time I had a clogged sink-not an emergency but they were short handed and would need to wait over the weekend. I called someone else who made a huge mess and who could not do the job right but still charged me. I then called Malloy back and explained what had happened and told them I was willing to wait for them to ome do the job right.. By the next morning they sent someone out . They only charge 15.00 for a service call not like others who charge 39.00 to 60.00-
Learned my lesson.

Customer service is lacking in person and over the phone. Not sure about the quality of their work. I had been working with them for a few months trying to get some work done. We had to wait for the weather to improve and they told me to call in March. After numerous phone calls and no replies, I hired someone else.
