We just had Mallard out for the third or fourth time over the years. We keep calling them because they're reasonably priced and good at what they do! Just had a new kitchen faucet put in, and while he was here he fixed some nagging bathroom plug problems - at no extra charge! We'll call them next time we need plumbing work.

I have a landscaping project on-going. We broke an irrigation line and needed an immediate repair which involve a more complicated replacement of the main feed from the city meter to the home. We capped the leak and called Mallard. They arrived within 48 hours on schedule and did a fantastic job of replacing, upgrading and installing multiple shutoff valves of the main feed in one day. I can't speak too highly of their assessment, execution and work. I'm somewhat knowledgeable of construction and appreciate good work. I won't use anyone else again. Branden B., Piedmont, CA.

My toilet tank cracked on a Friday afternoon. I emailed Mallard Plumbing and Manuel came out the next day and installed a new toilet on a Saturday. The job was done well and incredibly promptly. I've already scheduled an non-urgent sink installation. Thanks!

Today Matt from Mallard Plumbing came to replace the seal on a wall discharge toilet in my condo. I called Mallard Plumbing yesterday and they replied within 1 hour, scheduling Matt for the next day. At Matt's request i sent pictures of the problem toilet and those pictures allowed him to come here with exactly the parts he would need. Matt took about 15 minutes to diagnose the problem and then discussed possible solutions with me. He then provided a price for the complete removal and re-installation of my leaking toilet. Matt was professional and friendly, working quickly to get everything properly repaired. I can't say enough about Matt's performance. And the price was very reasonable, less than other quotes, for the work he did. A pleasure to work with Matt. I highly recommend Mallard Plumbing if you need plumbing services in Oakland. I will use them again if I need help in the future.

These guys did a great job on our remodel. Very professional and kept their word on pricing and timing

We were referred to Mallard to have a seismic shut-off value installed on our gas line. They were incredibly easy to work with, timely, friendly, and delivered on time and within budget. We have since had them back to the house for other plumbing needs and each time it has been a pleasure to work with them. If you're looking for quality and legitimate plumbing services in Oakland give these guys a call.

Hate to give a bad review, but their plumber visited my building for a minor leak and he was simply incorrect in his assessment of the problem.
He wanted to charge over $900 for an issue which was solved with about 25 cents worth of plumber's tape.
He insisted and insisted that the problem was bigger than I believed, but I knew he was wrong.
Manuel was his name, by the way. Perhaps they have better plumbers in their group?
Nearly cost me a thousand bucks for an incorrect diagnosis. (and the problem wouldn't have actually been fixed! costing me even more money in the long run)
Will not be using this company again.

In a re-model with open walls, Mallard did the complete rough-in for a washing machine, laundry sink, kitchen sink, bath vanity and tub. They cut into the cast iron plumbing stack at no cost because the installer said there would be too many units on one line. I started to nail gun in the blocking to hang the sewer under the house, they said no need, they would do that...Excellent work-done in less than a day.

Got a new Toto toilet installed by Ben this week. How long do you flush the handle on a low flow toilet? If you do it immediately it chokes and gurgles so I hold it down 2 secs? Too long?
Anyway even if I don't understand the care and feeding of it, I still love it. Ben did a great job preparing me for disaster pretoilet removal. Ouch! I feel it. Old homes are money pits. Yeah those cheap home remodelers put in a new floor on top of the old one so the throne now sits on rotting flanges. It will require a whole new remodel to pull out the old floor, replace the pipes, install new plumbing. But that gives us something to look forward to once we repair the damage $$ from this repair. We can look forward to another Noah's flood god knows when in the mean time. Good times!
Ben knew his stuff and kept the repairs up to the original estimate. Whew! Dodged a bullet. Ugly mold in the subflooring due to the last flood though. Boy is that ugly.
New Toto works like a charm. Only thing is you have to get to it in time.
'How dry I am. How wet I'll be. If I don't find the bathroom key.'

These guys are the best ... and I am not one to give praise easily. I had a clogged main waste line going out from the side of my house toward the city sewer line. If you don't know what I am talking about, believe me, this is nasty. A guy from another company came and charged me a couple of hundred dollars to basically tell me he needed to start digging right away and replace the line at a cost of about four thousand dollars. When the guys from Mallard came the next morning (by then the whole family had used the bathroom and showered at the Y for the past four days), I was not in a happy mood and quite desperate. I appreciated tremendously that they did not take advantage of the situation. They were professional, courteous, patient and ready to present me with all my options. Manuel and his brother made it clear that digging and replacing the line was the worst case scenario. They spent time (in spite of their busy work schedule and my repetitive questioning) going over the step-by-step actions we could take before the drastic act of replacing the line. And for each step, they gave me a clear understanding of the time and the cost involved. In other words, they made me feel in control and educated (the total opposite of the guy from the other company). End of the story is that they were able to unclogged the line after working on it for a few hours using a camera, a heavy-duty snake (there were tree roots growing inside the pipe) and a high-power water jet. Not cheap but no digging either. For the money, you won't find better service.
