2 years ago in 2022 Malek put a new $15k 5 ton A/C in my home. At the same time I had my entire floor replaced due to the previous unit causing water damage to my floor. In August 2024 I noticed water seeping through my new laminate flooring. I had Malek come back out to check everything and they found that the pipes going through the floor were not insulated properly and that the 5 ton unit was too large for my home. These issues destroyed my new floor. Malek was quick to take responsibility; however, they are now forcing me to work with their insurance company who is not wanting to pay the full cost of the repairs. I am now at Thanksgiving and nothing has been done to rectify this mess in my home. The owner, Daryll Zalesak, will not even speak to me and is forcing me to deal with the general manager and others under him. If my floor gets repaired to my satisfaction well prior to Christmas I will rescind this negative review.

I asked an authentic HVAC service company to investigate Malek's claims and they gave my system a clean bill of health and turned it back on. One minor issue was fixed free of charge. Looks like Malek not only misdiagnosed my system but they might even have sabotaged it in order to receive repair orders.

I booked almost over a month ago 7/9/2024 for a service appointment and they got me on the schedule. Come to the day of the appointment 7/23/2024 it's raining so they ask to reschedule to 7/29/2024, I agree and we reschedule. Then I get a call today from Renee that they will be out at 7pm. They already know I called about my Generac being serviced on my original first call and that it's under warranty. It's 7:30pm and no technician. I call and speak with Stanley and he tells me he'll call back when he hears from his tech. He calls back and says that he was just informed that since it's a Generac and under warranty the office for that closes at 5:00pm and they will have to reschedule anyways. I couldn't believe what I heard and expressed my disappointment to have them reschedule with me again but ask the next availability. He tells me 8/21/2024 is when they can come out next. I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY TOYED WITH ME LIKE THAT when they could have just told me they don't want my service. I could have found someone else instead of putting my faith in this company. I even had them tell me about their program to pay yearly for work and I was tempted to sign up. I'm so happy I didn't. I do not recommend this company. Highly unprofessional.

Good quality, courteous, responsive, but they price gouge the bejesus out of you after getting in the door with a low-cost maintenance agreement. Would you like specific examples?
Malek Elsewhere
Exterior water leak $1,800 to diagnose $200 to find and repair
Replace capacitor $200 labor only $50 to $200 labor+mat'l
Replace refrigerant $500 3-lb $100 to $350
Refrig leak trace $800 diagnose only $150 to $500 diagnose+repair
The first alternative is an actual paid price. The other non-Malek prices are from Angi's list+.

they took advantage of my neighbor
there were 3 other plumbers on our street same day they ripped them off
charged $400.00 per break
all the others were much cheaper
at first they had 2 breaks then he fixed those and said "oh now you have 2 more another $400.00 per break

I would give ZERO stars if I could! they up sale at every opportunity, even when told to stop. told no, they then call and Want approval for the "estimate." I would not recommend to anyone. I had the yearly service for about 4 years and every visit they tried to tell me I needed yet another expensive part. They are not a business that you can trust.

I signed up for Malek's service maintenance plan and had them out for the first time and told them ahead of time that my system was working fine except for an actuator that was not working and wanted to make sure they brought the part to fix it. The tech arrived and agreed system was ok and then proceeded to tell me that my system was very high end and the filter being used was the wrong size in the unit upstairs and I would need a different filter which he stated was around $1500 and I told him that was ridiculous to think someone was going to replace a $1500 filter every year when my $20 filter has been working fine. He proceeds to tell me that my UV light is at it's 5 year life and would likely need replacing soon and then he replaced my actuator as was originally requested and that took all of literally 5 minutes as it's easily accessible and was just unconnecting and reconnecting 2 wires to the new actuator. My bill was over $600. I understand paying for a slight premium for the part - which is readily available online for under $100 - but that was over the top excessive. I called to speak with the manager to share my displeasure with the charge and how they appear to leave it to the individual techs to price - and I left my name and number and message and was told by the lady I would receive a call back and that has been over a month ago and no one has called. I also called a couple other services around to see what they would charge and the going rate was about $250-$300. BEWARE of price gouging with this company.

I am happy to recommend a very talented and personable electrician, Derek, who skillfully fixed a defective solar panel inverter installed by a different company that is now out of business. Derek did the electrical work promptly, while also performing the administrative takes necessary to qualify me for a warrantied repair. I paid $0 (that ZERO dollars) for the service.

Charged $400, which is more than double what my regular plumber charged fixing the same tap during the last freeze. They simply happened to be the first ones to pick up after the current freeze to get the leaking outdoor tap fixed. On the day of the job the company called me multiple times to pay them even before the plumber had actually showed up for the job. Four plumbers arrived to do a one person job.

Michael K came out for our maintenance check-up and recommended we get new ionizers since our was not working properly. He was very educated on the A/C system and worked fast to get the problem fixed. We will continue to use Malek and will request Michael for any repairs or issues we might have. Keep up the great work!
