Had nothing but an amazing experience with them. Wouldn't use any other plumbing company than them. I've tried a few different ones throughout the years and they were not only the most professional, but also had the most knowledge. I didn't have to worry if someone was taking advantage of me (since I don't know a thing about pipes or plumbing myself). Such a relief!

This is the worst plumbing company I have ever used. They sure sound nice and friendly, but this company is the worst plumbing company I ever used. They overcharge you for everything, and charge you for every single thing they do. It's really heart breaking you have these type of companies on Long Island taking advantage of people. I went to another plumbing company after my one and only experience with Mako.

If you are a loyal customer, they have been taking advantage of you for years.

No company should be charging for some of the things they are charging. And overcharging by a lot. Please, if you are a hard working person who values their money, just stay away from this company.

The worst company I ever used. When it comes to an emergency call with most plumbers, you're at there mercy. With that said, this company was the absolute worst, charged over $1200 for a job, according to other plumbers, should've been no more then $600 and when they were done I had lost over 50% of my water pressure in that shower, which they knew was going to happen but didn't tell me until after they were done. These reviews I see on here must be friends or family members or they never had the privilege of dealing with the tech that I did.

I had a call with Rich from Mako earlier today. He began by asking how we heard about the Company and then the conversation took another route. Rich explained how Mako is an expensive company and that if we have found a cheaper company, that we should go with them for the gas conversion services which we had requested. This is even before we got to the part of scheduling an appointment for an estimate. Rich was unprofessional and quite arrogant in his tone. He spoke to us as if we couldn't afford the services without any basis or reasoning. As a first impression from Rich, this is not a Company which I would recommend as they do not seem quite customer friendly from the get-go.

Thank you for your apology. The reason I contacted your company was because you have a good BBB rating. It is also due to the reviews on yelp and other sites which recommend your company because of how you treated the customer and the quality of the work which was performed. However, the first and only conversation I had with you did not portray the professionalism or the courteousness which most customers had highlighted in their reviews for you. This was quite surprising. Also, to be clear, you only agreed to finally make an appointment with a service fee, after I had stressed the fact that you were not speaking in a kind manner and asked why you were not initially offering an appointment. In fact, you mentioned that I should approach a cheaper plumber at the early stages of our conversation, before mention of a service fee. I have made appointments with plumbers previously who charged services fees for a first appointment, so this has no bearing as to why I was disappointed but it was because you were not speaking in a respectful and customer-friendly manner. In any end, I happily completed the gas conversion project with a respectful and highly rated plumber, which I have recommended to family and friends. I wish you all the best. -Tom

Excellent service!! Jay came on time and explained everything clearly. He fixed my leaky shower, leaky heater and replaced a hose. Price seemed reasonable since he was here for almost 3 hours. I would definitely recommend Mako plumbing! When next issue arises I will call them for sure!

I have had the Mako team to my house several times for plumbing work and boiler service and I have been very pleased with them.
They are always on time, which counts for a lot, in addition to being professional, competent, and personable. They patiently and helpfully answer questions but they get right to the job with efficiency. They do have a standard fee to come out, which I personally do not find unreasonable - anyone who does should look elsewhere. I personally have found Rich and the team to be straight shooters who do great work and are courteous and trustworthy. Recommended.

First off, this was the third plumber that came and looked at my house problem. We suffered from a slop sink which often backed up when we would do our laundry.

Each time plumber snakes sewer lines and leaves.

Mako Plumber showed up on time, where 8:00 AM meant 8:00 AM. Looked at the problem and runs through a series of tests which quickly isolate the area of the house where the problem is located.

Most important he clearly showed what part of my plumbing was working correctly.

Snakes the line and alerts me that snaking line will not solve the problem.

He continued troubleshooting until he found that the pipe under the ground was broken and sealed closed. Replaced pipe problem solved.

Five stars since they really made sure they explained how my plumbing was setup. Corrected the problem. And cleaned up thoroughly.

I learned a lot about plumbing from this experience which will hopefully avoid problems in the future.

I would use the service again!!!

When we called we told them exactly what the problem was, and we just wanted a quote and there was no mention of a service fee. But now it's $135 for a two minute check. Although I was unhappy at the time, Mako has more than made up for the misunderstanding.

I would not hesitate to use them in the future. They seem like good, honest people.

Stay away. If you want to be interigated and judged call MAKO plumbing. I called to schedule an appointment for a quote. However, the dispatcher was very rude and unprofessional. He asked me if I was the owner of the house, how long did I live there for as well as what happen to the previous plumber. I was kind enough to answer a long list of questions. In addition, the dispatcher stated ""whenever you are finished dealing with your free or cheap plumbers call us"" because I was uncomfortable paying $125 for a quote. Call citywide plumbing, FREE quotes, awesome service.

I can understand charging $125 to give an estimate, I really can. However, if I'm going to fork over $125, I expect a reasonable estimate for non-emergency work.
Instead, Mako's estimate came in at 5x the price that two other licensed plumbers quoted me!
The whole shark team is really spot on - don't trust them!
