chad is a rude liar and company is very sneaky.....he never said he had to charge for cleaning another drain, did it and THEN charged us...he should have explained charges and didn't...he goes to truck and calls company and spends 20 min getting his bill itemized...don't believe in the 130.00 quote...they add every thing up that is usually included in other companies....would NEVER use again....biggest rip off people.....had to give a 1 star...not even worth that....

and oh yes, he left the basement door to garage open so cat could have gotten out...didn't even have enough professionalism to close the door after himself!!!! most companies explain what they are doing and what it will cost...major drain just makes it up as they go, and spends almost as much time writing up the bill with the help from the office on phone from truck...chad never explained a thing...just said I need to write up your bill....boy when they say that....watch out...

I had Major Drain out a couple of years ago when my regular plumber couldn't get come.

I had a huge flood in my basement due to a plugged mainline drain. It appeared to be caused by wipes. I told the plumber that we didn't use wipes, but he didn't believe me. I asked why we would have wipes plugging up our drain when we didn't use them, and he said, ""Because you do.""

Major Drain was out three times in four days. Cost me a fortune. The plug was not removed. The company did not give me any warrenty on the work, so I had to pay each time they came. Not a happy camper, to say the least.

I have used Major Drain twice; once for a clog in the main sewer line and a second clog in the line from the kitchen sink. The first time I selected them I picked them because they were transparent on the website about their hourly fee and very responsive. The second time I tried another plumber who did not return my call and called Major Drain. As the first time, there were no extra charges, no attempts to do more than was necessary, and they responded very quickly. Always very courteous. They guarantee their work. They will be my first choice from now on.

I called for a bid and Mike came out and was polite and professional. He explained everything that needed to be done to run gas for a stove. He warned me that complications can add cost. Well, here they are today and he advises me that he found a prior gas line that he can use, which would save me a considerable amount on his bid. He could have just not told me. But he did. And for that honesty, and how polite and thorough they are, they get 5 stars.

I was in the middle of a renovation in basement bathroom. Had to turn off water to vanity and tried the knob. Broke. Had to turn off main water.

We have an annual contract with a plumber and called. They have no available slots. I said it's an emergency, I can't turn my water on! No joy.

I tried a few plumbers from a quick Google search. Same result. Apparently, there aren't any plumbing services that cater to emergencies?

I visited Yelp to do more searching. I came across Major Drain by happenstance. They had some good reviews. I called, got a very friendly woman and explained my problem.

She put me on hold for a moment then told me one of her techs just had a cancellation and he could be at my house in just a few minutes.

Yay!

I had a couple leaks throughout a house and they came in and tightened them all up. Prices remain flat since Will's 2016 review where service is still $130/hour, so I think it is a fair price. I needed them in a jiffy and they were the only plumber I called that had same day availability. The plumbers (there were two), were friendly enough and helped me understand where the problems arose. In any case, solid plumber for simple fixes that you need done right away.

Saw lots of positive reviews for Major Drain on Yelp, so when I came home to a backed up basement drain I decided to give them a shot.

10 yrs ago had some major sewer issues and dealt with multiple drain cleaning companies....they all SUCKED compared to Major Drain

Positive points

- fast response...called around 6PM and had a tech here before 7
- fast work ... finished work in less than an hour
- excellent rate (similar to rates I was paying 10 yrs ago)
- thorough -- tech used a 160 ft pipe cable/snake, and spent sufficient time to verify drains flowing clear. Well done

I've got to update my review, called yesterday 5/19 for a clogged kitchen sink, Major Drain said they'd be out between 3 and 4. Close to 4 I was called to be told their plumber had gotten hung up on another job and would not be able to make it and rescheduled for 5/20. Completely understand that these things come up and there's not much that can be done sometimes. Appt for today was supposed to be from 5-6p, it's now quarter past 6p and I've gotten no call and nobody showed up. Call to Major Drain went to their answering service. As impressive as the company was the first time I used them it has been equally unimpressive this time. Splitting the difference and going with a 3 star rating, will update if things improve.

Update: guy showed up 20 mins after appt window, unfortunately immediately after I dumped Draino down the sink....

John came out 2 hours earlier than originally quoted, which was great! We had a fairly deep clog in one of our pipes, but he was able to take care of it in about 20 minutes. He was personable and very knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend Major Drain to others. Their prices are exactly what is quoted on their webpage and very reasonable. They also came out on a Saturday afternoon, which to some plumbers is weekend pricing. Major Drain includes Saturdays in their regular pricing. We will use them again.
