TOTAL SCUM DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They play bait and switch quotes with pricing. Wanted to charge me over 2000 for a job that other plumbers charge 5 to 6 hundred. Kicked them out of my house! Filling compliants with BBB NEXT.

I called Maitz to come and give me a price to fix a broken sewer line. They never said anything about a service charge for an estimate. My sewer company had already looked for the break in the line with a camera and told me exactly where the break in the line was. Maitz told me that they wouldn't do the job unless they ran a camera in the line first. They wanted $853.00 for running the camera. I told them it had already been done but they didn't care. I asked how much the repair would cost and was told they wouldn't know till the camera work was done first. I told them to forget it. They then told me there was a $40.00 service charge. They never did give me an estimate. Stay away from Maitz. Scam artist..

We scheduled an A/C check up using one of their company coupons. The coupon was for $59. We were told as long the unit didn't need anything it would only be $59. That if a problem was found it would be a service call then for $89. The technician arrived on time and he found nothing wrong with our A/C unit. However he charged us $89. He stated that we were misquoted a price by the office. We called the office and they were supposed to get back to us within 24 to 48 hours. It's been over two weeks and we've heard nothing. Apparently the do not honor their coupons. I don't think $89 was unreasonable for the visit anyway but if you advertise a coupon for $59 you can't turn around and charge $89. I will never use them again on general principle.

So I called Maitz to come and look at our water heater because the water was not getting hot. The service guy asked how old the heater was an we told him it was about 10 yrs. old. Without checking out anything he immediately told us we needed a new water heater to the tune if $3600! Are you kidding me! Needless to say we told him to leave. To make a long story short for $27.00 we now have hot water, the problem was the reset button.
Part 2, we also needed out toilet check because it was not flushing right. The 1st guy came and snaked it out and we paid him $99 reasonable, however in 2 days it was clogged. We called again and they sent out another guy who snaked it out again but said he would have to take off the toilet and go farther into the line this would cost $1200 but they would deduct the $99 from that since we paid that already. Needless to say we told him to leave and will be renting a machine and doing it ourselves for a heck of a lot less. I'm not sure if services are trying to make up for the pandemic by charging exorbitant prices or what but as a consumer my feeling is, be reasonable and you may get my business, disrespect me with trying to cheat me and you'll lose my business altogether. I never wrote a review but I'm so upset by this i needed to let others know to beware of their prices if you're considering calling Maitz for help.

I've been paying $30 a month for several years so that I am considered a premier customer and have my home checked twice a year. 3 weeks ago my technician was scheduled for his first call of the day - then I was called to say that they were have a meeting that morning, could he come at noon.....then at noon I was called and told he was on another call and would be later......he showed up at 4pm and did not have time to finish checking all. Then I was told that another technician would come out on 5-4 (needed to be on the roof for a solar repair), it was raining and cancelled until today, 5-11.....afternoon. Then he called at 9am and said he'd be out in 30 minutes - NO, it's an afternoon appt, I'm gone in the morning......then called again at 1p, that he would be late......then a call at 3p, he can't make it - would 5-18 work? I'd say the $30 per month to be a premier client is not what it was sold to be - I'm at the bottom of the barrel. I am VERY displeased.

My wife was conned into giving this company a 5-star rating on Home Advisor, but I am bound by no such trick.
This was a terrible experience. They came to install a new shower head and replace a faucet. We had the hardware. They were also asked to replace a toilet but said they would have to do that on a second visit. Why he could not bring a new toilet with him I have no idea---but in retrospect that was a blessing!
The young man left the bathroom a disaster area. He did install the new shower head, but in the process, had some sort of black dirt all over the wall and the tub---and on his shoes. He made no attempt to clean that up.
The faucet he found to be defective (new Moen). He said it leaked and Moen would have to take care of it---and after getting a check for $315 he left us, with the new faucet in place and the water turned off.
He also gave us a price on the replacement toilet of $1500.

My wife called their office to complain, at my insistence, and another person came back. Prior to doing anything he told my wife he would not charge for another visit if she gave them a 5 star rating--she agreed. As it turned out, he fixed the ""defective"" faucet---it had been improperly installed by the first guy.

The faucet is now fine, except the hot and cold lines are crossed. We will have the next plumber fix that when he comes this week to install a new toilet for $900, including the toilet.
Now, for the rest of this story. The follow-up plumber did correct the mix-up in the supply lines but a week latter the faucet was again leaking. My wife called Moen. They have sent a new faucet (at no charge) but also determined from discussion with my wife, based on what she had seen, the first guy took the faucet apart which he should not have done---and that was the cause of the leak.
This was a terrible experience that just keeps on giving!

I had my boiler serviced last week, I had a misunderstanding with the work that was done. Maitz Home Services blew me away with the resolution. I am once again a very happy customer.

If you want to play that game of lowest price, middle price and then highest price, Maitz is for you. Then if you don't pick the ridiculous high price, you have to wait ""two weeks"" for the part. Maitz used to be good. I used them for 14 years with my properties. No more.

We have been paying Maitz $20/mo. for a home maintenance service agreement for at least the last year. It did absolutely nothing to help us with the cost of this repair. We had an on-demand gas water heater that broke and needed repair. Maitz sent someone out who was not able to fix it and he said they'd need to send someone else out. They sent another technician who diagnosed the problem and gave a quote of $1,400 to repair it! I felt like I was sucker punched! But since it's a property with tenants and they'd already been without hot water for 3 days, we agreed to have them fix it for that ridiculous amount of money. They said they'd order the part and call us when it arrived. Eight days later they still hadn't contacted us! Long story short, when I asked for a price adjustment for their extreme oversight and getting the ""run around"" about why they were so lax in their communication, they flatly refused. And this despite our being faithful customers. STEER CLEAR of this repair service! I have absolutely nothing positive to say about them.
