I have NO IDEA how this company got any 5 star reviews. It must have been friends or relatives writing them for him.
I have dealt with lots of contractors in my life and NEVER have I dealt with a person Jose(owner) of Handyman Hernandez that is such a con man. I got an initial quote from him and agreed to the job, the same day he and his side kick Danny came to my home to pick up a check for 50% of the job,$1000 for materials to get started the next day.
I was told that it would be a 2 day job and ""his professional crew"" would start the next day, Monday and have it finished in 2 days. On Monday he did not show up, but the 3 guys(his ""crew"") showed up to take measurements and access the situation. I was told they would start the next day. The next day Jose dropped off 3 guys again and I told him that he had left several things off the estimate that he gave me, he and Danny sat down with me and he added another $700 the the job. I gave him another $350 for the job---------
I could write a novel on what went on next, but to make a loooong story short, by the end of the week basically nothing was done. The workers sat around most of the time because Jose and Danny were driving around picking up materials for the job.
Then Jose told me that I had to give him more money before they finished the job. I told him that very little was done and that what had been done was unacceptable work.
I told him that he was fired and not to come back to my house and that I wanted my $1350 back. Well we all know that wasn't going to happen.
I told him not to come back to my house, not to even step foot on my property.
I have pictures of all the crap work that was done and WILL sue him.
BY THE WAY NONE OF HIS CREW WERE PROFESSIONALS, THEY WERE JUST FRIENDS OF HIS!!
I do not blame the guys that he brought over to do the work, I know that they did the best that they could. Jose told me that he was a master carpenter, so I expected him to oversee the job. When it came to the biggest part of the job, framing in a doorway, he cut all the boards too short!!!

We needed some siding panels on the outside of our house that were on the second floor, nailed down. We reached out to 3-4 handymen on a Saturday afternoon. Hernandez was the only one who responded the same day and was able to do the work. He came on the Monday after that. It was all done inside of an hour. I'm so glad none of the siding blew off the house.
