I established Mainline Plumbing Service to provide a better option than other plumbing companies in the area. These companies spend heavily on advertising yet deliver poor service and outrageous pricing. Our primary motivation is achieving 100% customer satisfaction. Unlike the previously mentioned companies, all our plumbers are PA licensed and have undergone extensive training. Most companies will send someone without proper training or a PA plumbing license. If you want someone who will respect your home and treat you well, CALL US. You will be pleased; I guarantee it.

Our home warranty recommended to us to use mainline plumbing to repair our ac unit. they came out and looked at the unit outside and I said another ac guy said it needed to be replaced (it was obvious the unit was all rusted and 15 yrs old, end of life) he replied in a nasty tone that he won't go by that. then i was working from home on my laptop in my bedroom with the news on. He was looking at the ac unit inside which was in the hallway upstairs about 3 feet from my bedroom. He came into my bedroom to ask what was going on in the news and interrupted me working. I asked him if he was going to check for a leak on the other ac unit (we have two) since the other one was installed last summer practically brand new and was not cooling. He said no because the Freon didn't leak out, when they installed it new last year they probably just didn't fill it up all the way with Freon. I asked my friend that is certified in AC and he said that was total bs. new ac units come fully charged and the Freon would just leak out again and would need to be recharged again. This is the 2nd time we used the new unit and its not working so I am assuming main line did not charge it with Freon only charged us for it. we will have to call the Home Warranty company back to get a competent company to come out to fix what Main Line already charged us and the warranty company for. Tom, the owner also was nasty to my husband and when my husband asked ""this is how you treat your customers?"" he blew up and started telling my husband off saying he doesn't need our business. I really wish the warranty company would take them out of rotation. they are nasty and incompetent and do not deserve any business. They never completed the work on the replacement of the rusty unit as they were too lazy to pick up the parts the warranty company ordered so, we had to ask the warranty company to give us the cash out option and we hired someone competent so at least we have one unit that is working properly. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
Brian M.I worked with Mainline Plumbing through my home warranty company. Granted, I did not have any major repairs done, but the company got in touch with me quickly. They communicated well regarding their arrival time, and were respectful, friendly and courteous when they arrived. They explained things to me thoroughly and I was left with a very good impression. I am bit baffled by the negative reviewed on here, especially after my experience. For what its worth, its a good example of not believing everything you read on the internet. I recommend them.
I didn't actually receive service from MLP, but did have the chance to interact w/ a member from their team who helped me sort out some issues and can't compliment their customer service enough. Thank you Tom for your assistance!
Tried to follow-up on work done on our boiler. They aggressively denied having done the work, despite my having a receipt in front of me and home warranty company records saying they did. Won't be using them for any further work.
Kathy B.This is my second time using Mainline and this experience was even better than the first! Initial service, Tom installed two toilets in my home. The job was more complicated than he anticipated - there was a problem with the way the old toilets were installed - but despite the extra time and more work involved, Tom charged me his original price! The second job was to repair a leak in the basement. He explained the work that needed to be done, and even though it was 7PM, he did the work rather than make me wait another day, battling the leak as it was still raining. Tom is the ultimate professional.
The plumber told my home warranty company that we did not have a clean out and as a result, we would need to pay out of pocket since the service they recommended is not covered in our contract. They quoted us $850 to get our drains unclogged. We called Roto Rooters and they found our clean out within a minute. They charged us half the price that Mainline quoted us. If I could post this review with no stars, I would.
Called Mainline to have the outside frost proof garden hose faucet replaced. The first quote was $429.45...after I could speak again, a call by the repair guy to Tom was made...and the price became $279.45. The hose faucet has easy access from the inside of the house, so nothing difficult is involved. I paid the $49. service call fee and called another licensed plumber. The faucet was under $60. and the plumber charged me $125. to install it. Total time required for the job...45 minutes. At 72 years of age, raised in the military, and aware of modern labor costs...I can spot a bad deal. This was a red flag quote, perhaps aimed at a senior citizen; therefore, I will not call Mainline Plumbing Service again.
Got a call today (6/25/2017) from Tom at Mainline who said that my warranty company stated I declined the cash out for a shower faucet. I just got off the phone with the warranty company, and they have NO record of telling Mainline I declined the cash-out. The moment I got off the phone with Tom, I called the warranty company and asked why they would call Mainline and tell them I declined a cash-out. Why Tom would call and try and schedule when my warranty company said they did NOT call to tell him I declined the cash-out. I told the warranty company last week I did not want Mainline coming back out to my property. I am actively working out the payment details with the warranty company to have a plumber of my choosing to fix the shower.
I would NOT recommend this plumber. My master shower had a slow leak after mainline came out to diagnose where the leak was coming from they caused the leak to become worse, I had to turn off all water to the whole house, they tried capping it twice and both times after their attempt at capping the leak it became worse, I ended up calling an emergency plumber to cap the lines correctly so I could have water in the house to be able to shower and flush my toilets, this was out of my own pocket.
When they came out to troubleshoot the leak, which at the time we didn't know if it was the shower, tub or toilet. Their plumber Mike poured water down the back of my shower wall to prove the leak was the shower and ended up causing it to rain in my family room. He even said watch it rain in the family room.
It takes a lot for me to cry, but this made me cry. He doesn't have to live here, I do, this is my HOME! Also, Mainline continuously stated they should have never taken the job since they said the issue was caused by another plumber who changed out the temperature control back in May. They didn't know it was the shower initially and I also didn't know it was a slow leak in the shower, I thought it was the toilet. How would I know what the cause was since I'm not a plumber and I'm cautious about blaming a company, I thought ok, the faucet just went bad the other plumber did NOT change out the faucet just the temperature control. I found it grossly unprofessional for one company to bad mouth another company. My only issue with the plumber who replaced the temp control valve back in May was that it took weeks for them to get the part in, I never criticized their work as for weeks I had no issues with the shower, there was no leak, and the temperature control was working again. This leak could have been coincidence as the faucet wasn't replaced by the plumber who fixed the temp control. Unless, you can prove that the issue was caused by the company who fixed the temperature control, they should back up those statements because I have a hole in my family room ceiling. Tom kept saying I don't want to be pulled in the middle of this, we're trying to help. Well, if you wanted to help you could have stated this was caused by another company and we are not touching it as there is secondary damage done to the house. He didn't do that!
I will say in defense of the other company, and I do not know if the issue was created by them or not. I thought the gentleman who came out was professional and courteous and explained that the person who originally was assigned my job had quit the company and my paperwork fell through the cracks. Ok, I accepted that because unfortunately, things like that do happen. I never said they did terrible work or they caused the damage, it was Mainline plumbing who stated it was the other company who caused it.
When I called my warranty company about the leak I didn't even know it was a slow leak in the shower, I thought the wax ring on the toilet had gone because there was a water spot on the ceiling. If mainline thought it was caused by the other plumber they should have contacted the warranty company, but they pulled this we're just trying to help you and put words in my mouth saying I said I didn't want the other company in my house. I never stated that.
Very bad experience. We were referred to them by our home warranty company and they came out to fix a leaky faucet. They replaced the washer but it began dripping again within a week and by two weeks later the faucet was a steady leak. When I called back the man I spoke with was very rude and he just basically said it was our fault for over-tightening the faucet. When his man came out the first time he never warned us about over-tightening, and quite frankly that was the only way to get the dripping to stop even after the initial repair. The work was supposedly ""guaranteed"" by the warranty company so they did come back out. The individual was nice but when he inputted the information to the warranty company he stated that the problem was due to over-tightening so the warranty company would not consider it a recall and we would have to pay our service fee a second time. I called the warranty company but they stated that they were going by the information provided by the company. In essence, we had to pay two different service fees for the same part to be replaced. Even if it was over-tightening, does it really make sense that a washer would be totally destroyed in two weeks? Now we are literally one day later and the faucet is still dripping and we are totally paranoid about tightening it too much to get it to stop. Lovely. I will never use this company again.
Hungry H.They charged exorbitant fee for a simple work when i needed an emergency repair of one baseboard heating pipe joint leak. Charged $800 for 2.5 hr stay and he spent most time taking to me on the how complex it is to drain, reconnect, bleed air from heating water lines after re-soldering. How that one leak repair warrants $800 charge. Not sure how they are getting A ratings on Angie's List and they seem then fight every bad review on Angie's List. Anyway, I won't be using them again.
Had another plumber other plumbing jobs which were probably 10x more (redo all other heating lines which were literally 30 cuts/connect, moving water heater, rerouting heat lines, empty, bleed lines for entire house) for the same price. That other plumber was more work oriented, professional and got the job done.
