BEWARE!!!!! I am beyond disappointed with MLPS. I had a toilet installed by 2 gentlemen that took 1.5 hours & virtually no materials involved as I supplied the toilet. My bill was close to 700 bucks! When trying to explain the astronomical bill, the time spent on the job was disputed by MLPS as being longer and the fact that materials were used (a 12 inch supply line and shutoff that cost under $20 at the local Ace hardware). If you want someone that charges about $250 an hour per person and will take you for every dime possible, MLPS is the company for you. They have 2.5 stars on virtually every web site for a reason. STAY AWAY

We are retired and moved into a smaller , older house . We found Mainline plumbing through the recommendation of a neighbor when we where desperate for services. Our sump-pump had failed and we had 3 inches of water in the basement. We called the big companiy who had installed the pump at 10 a.m. and where told that the earliest they could come was 4p.m.
We got Mainline's # from tne neighbor, called and within 1 hour they showed up and took care of the problem. (Just as an aside: check your home insurance to make sure the Sump is covered !..IThe cleanup cost us 5,000$)
Over the last few years we used Mainline for a few pipe-leaks, toilet etc. fixes and always had prompt, professional, friendly service at reasonable cost.
We are more than happy with Mainline and highly recommend them.

This company came out and stated that the issue with my heat pump was a dirty filter. I was not home at the time I was working my stepmother was at my house with my son while he was doing virtual school. I called and spoke with Tom the owner and he told me that was the problem. I did my own troubleshooting as I am not stupid and I realize that the temperature coming out of my unit was not cold on the AC temperature of the pump and as soon as I turned the heat on it went to the emergency heat which should not happen at a temperature like we are experiencing here in Pennsylvania right now. TOM told me he did not appreciate a homeowner who has no experience with HVAC systems telling him what the problem is when his technician has been doing these things since 1970. I left to myself. I am a realtor and I have been to many home inspections and I am not stupid so I did my own testing after he told me that the temperature was coming out at 107°. The temperature may have been coming out high when I tested it but it was only because the emergency heat had kicked on after turning the temperature up 1°. His company is very shady and he collected my hundred dollars and basically said you should be good to go and that's it. This was all through American Home Shield my warranty company. I will say I had a second opinion with MDT heating and air-conditioning today and I was more than ecstatic as the owner Tom came out and diagnose the problem as I thought it was from the get go. This was my second opinion and I did not have to pay for that today. I will be working with MDT heating and air-conditioning from now on Tom The owner from MAIN LINE heating and air-conditioning did me wrong as well as many other people. Steer clear from him as he is very rude and he's not concerned about his customers he only wants to collect his hundred dollars from the warranty company.

I feel like there is a pattern with this home warranty system and main line being assigned then doing terrible work... They were assigned to me to fix a central air a/c unit. I had many issues with this company from the start.

First: As soon as they walked in the door, the tech said he wanted to remind me that the home warranty only covers $10 per pound of refrigerant and they charge $125 a pound. When I questioned him why the price was so high for 410A refrigerant, he said ""Oh, I thought you had the old stuff"" (the R22 refrigerant). Why would he assume that before looking at the system? He then said it will be $100 per pound... That's insane. The home warranty covers the call out and labor for the service, I should only have to pay for material. After calling 3 other local HVAC companies, the raw material they charge is about $30-$40 a pound for 410A refrigerant. The company was charging more that double what other HVAC companies charge and taking advantage of the fact I had to use them because of the home warranty.

Second: This is a relatively minor issue, but they drilled two holes in my duct work to check the air tempt before and after the air is supposed to be cooled. They left without patching the holes.

Third: When they said the problem was the refrigerant, I ask them that if my system is leaking, then shouldn't you look for a leak to repair? The tech said he puts in a ""sealant"" with the refrigerant that will seal any small leaks. Other than that, he never looked for a leak. When I again said the refrigerant price is way too high because I had the system charged a few years ago and it was not that expensive, he said ""Well prices go up."" They then left without even fixing the leak.

After contacting 3 other HVAC companies, I was informed that using sealants on 410A systems will more than likely blow the compressor in 2-3 weeks. They confirmed that sealants can only be used on R22 systems or they risk damaging the unit. Not only that, they informed me it's actually ILLEGAL to continue to add refrigerant to a system for a second time without there being a clear repair of the leak...

So to sum up, Mainline Plumbing wanted to charged $100 an pound for 410A refrigerant that costs $30-$40 a pound for other HVAC companies. They wanted to ""fix the leak"" by adding a sealant to the system which can not be done on a 410A system. They were going to add refrigerant after being informed I had already had refrigerant added in the past (which is illegal without a repair) and they drilled holes in my duct without patching then...

BONUS PROBLEM: So the icing on the cake, I am attempting to have my home warranty send someone else out for a second opinion. The home warranty said they can not send a second opinion without receiving a report from Mainline Plumbing (which should have been sent 2 weeks ago). The home warranty rep called Mainline while I was on the phone with her. She told me that Mainline was REFUSING to send a report because I refused to pay for the service! That's right, refusing to send the home warranty a simple report of the problem because I refused to pay $100 a pound for refrigerant. The home warranty said they can not send a second opinion until receiving that report. So here I am in 90+ degree heat, with an infant and a toddler, no A/C, waiting for Mainline Plumbing to be slightly professional and do their job. Absolutely unbelievable. The home warranty rep literally said that she understood when I never want to use them again because of how they refused to answer any of their questions.

I have no idea how Mainline Plumbing is in business. Read the reviews.

TL;DR: If you have a home warranty and see Mainline Plumbing is your contractor, CALL YOUR HOME WARRANTY AND DEMAND A DIFFERENT CONTRACTOR BASED OFF THESE TERRIBLE REVIEWS. I am not alone in this and I hope this can prevent someone else from dealing with the problems I have had.

Terrible owner! Okay he's friendly, next he's screaming at you (his employees say this is typical). He was assigned by my home warranty company to put in new water heater & remove old one. After he had warranty company send 3 different specialists come in to confirm the electrical system was fine (he insisted it wasn't), then finding other excuses not to replace water heater, he finally sent someone to replace it. He sent only 1 person, so heater couldn't be lifted properly causing bottom basement step to break. A year later, owner refuses to remove old heater saying he was here (he was not) & screaming at me saying he won't remove heater he was paid to remove.

I was referred to this company by my Home Warranty company due to a water problem at my rental property. Water was pooling around the hot water heater, they sent a tech out and said it was the HVAC not the hot water heater. They said they would need to send out another tech to repair the HVAC. We made an appointment for the next morning and the tech never showed. Company is not answering the phone and the HVAC is still leaking water. Now we have a water problem in the basement because of this company's inability to come to a scheduled appointment.

Main Line Plumbing Service was AWFUL to deal with. First of all, we filed a claim through our home warranty and they were assigned to us. We asked them to come out and make sure our HVAC was working because it was not blowing cold air. When i didn't receive a text confirmation with an appointment window, I called Main Line Plumbing Service and Tom gave me the run around and would not give me a specific day or time that his tech would be out. He then blamed the issue on my Nest Thermostat. He FINALLY agreed to send someone out in 2 days. The tech told us it just needed Freon. We paid them $125/lb for Freon! And a week after they were at our house, our unit was leaking and flooded our basement and the neighbor's basement. I called Main Line Plumbing Service myself and Tom was a complete jerk! He yelled at me and told me that he wasn't taking responsibility for the flooding because his tech didn't do it. I called my warranty company and the tech came back out and told me that it would be over $1,000 to fix the issue. I had another HVAC company come out and they determined that the tech from Main Line Plumbing Service unclogged a blockage but left all the water in the vents and that's what was leaking. I would never ever recommend them to anyone. The only reason I got stuck with them was because they were assigned to me through my home warranty company.

Not honest! Beware especially if you have American Home Shield warranty. Takes deductible money and claims the warranty won't service it. Literally in and out in 2 minutes. Received a second opinion via the warranty service and they found it was legit and covered it.

Tom is not who you want working on your plumbing. Talks the talk but is shady!

I am so happy with Mainline Plumbing and I want to shout it from the roof tops!
I had a big problem and feared the the news I was going to get would be the worst. I was correct in fearing the problem was big but these people found my solution right then and there and could have easily made it a extremely big job. I was so happy with the honesty and integrity and service that this company provided. I also have a peace of mind that when I do call them they will service my home in a most professional manner. Thanks so much Mainline Plumbing!
