Just got snaked by Magic Plumbing! Had a great experience last time for a job well done. This time, the guy forgot parts, bitched about coming back and over charged me.

This is my first review on yelp, that's how pissed I am. My money is going elsewhere next time.

Got a bid from them to do some simple sink and toilet hookups. $4500. Got the work done for $900 from another plumber. Not sure what these guys are smoking.

Magic Plumbing has done two jobs on our fixer-upper: a trenchless sewer replacement and some bathroom work. I give them higher points for the big job. They were on time each day and kept the overall project more or less on schedule, handling every challenge professionally and with patience, cleaning up and generally being much more respectful than other contractors, and efficiently processing our permits, inspections and payments. Phil, who estimated and oversaw the job, is responsive and helpful. Steve led the crew on a day-to-day basis and quickly became one of my all-time favorite contractors (I've dealt with more than I can count). Nothing fazes that guy. When he was away one day and another crew leader stepped in, I really came to appreciate Steve's calm, no-nonsense, no-ego style. And maybe the highest compliments came from other contractors who admired Magic's work.

My home's hot water heater gave up the ghost abruptly and completely after a remarkable 24 years of loyal service. My apartment owning friend reommended a service that couldn't get to it for over a week, and after a day of freezing showers that was out of the question. Magic Plumbing with Mike doing the work was perfect. He came when we wanted--first thing on a Saturday morning and did a great job. The price was fair given that it required some re-piping to move the unit against a wall to be up to the CA earthquake code. He dropped by to take a look and give us an estimate after work prior to Sat. It was what my knowledgeable friend said to expect. Mike was a real gentleman who cleaned up after himself, took away the awful insulation from the old unit and explained everything to me as I was interested in being able to do this myself in the future. I couldn't be more satisfied. Great work, fair price, efficient and friendly.

Don't consider using this outfit for any major work -- they give unrealistic bids and are dishonest.

My sewer line lies along my neighbors sewer line. Magic plumbing was digging up my neighbors sewer line and offered to fix our sewer line at the same time. I had an exchange to understand exactly what was wrong with my sewer line. The guy tried to make it sound that there was something alarmingly wrong, but I didn't get a very clear response so I decided not go through with it. Later I hired a contractor to look at this sewer line again, and aside from some normal tear and wear there was really nothing wrong and the line didn't need replacing.

I got the number for Magic Plumbing from the Diamond Certified guide and called about 9PM on Saturday night and left a message with the live person answering service. Pablo the dispatcher called me back within 15 minutes and was very nice. He asked for some details of the issue and said whoever was working on Sunday would call me, also asking what time was good, I said any time Sunday. I heard from Jeremy a little after 9am on Sunday morning, I gave him the quick rundown of my issue, and told him no hurry because it wasn't an emergency, but he showed up in about an hour which was great. I had loud humming from the hot water and leaks from the cold water connected to my washing machine. He made adjustments and my machine was running again with no leaks or sound effects in under half an hour. He also installed a shower head and examined the other faucets at my request. Jeremy was very congenial and listened to all my plumbing stories and concerns. If you're a home owner, you know what I'm talking about. He gave me some good advice and the price was basic service fee, $168. No mess left behind. I can recommend them based on attitude, fast turn around time, and knowledge. Also there is no extra charge for weekends, which saves you time and money from having to take time off during the week.

Mike was awesome. i called a bunch of other companies and left messages. Magic Plumbing picked up the phone right away and came in quickly. fixed the problem in 15 minutes and their price is very reasonable. highly recommend.

I've been using these guys for several years and have not had a bad experience with them. Best of all I trust them to do the job. I actually now live in NY and use them for my home in SF. If my tenants have a plumbing issue or I need plumbing maintenance performed, these guys get the job done, on time and within the estimated price. Most recently I've been dealing with Pablo and Frank and they've kept the quality of work and service top notch. When's the last time you trusted someone to do good job when you were thousands of miles away?

Top-notch outfit. I had a major issue with my Bosch dishwasher and Paul (the owner of the company) showed up within 15 minutes of my call. He was awesome--professional, super friendly, and thoroughly experienced with my issue. I will definitely call him next time I have a plumbing problem. Thank you, Paul!
