I had a bad smell in my finished basement which is NEVER a good thing. Over the 4 years of living in my home I had called out three different plumbers. All of them didn't fully understand my system and said there was no need to do anything. But this year enough is enough. I called Madden, they came out three days later. Their team was so professional. The guys had some questions, cause let's face it, my system is a little weird, but then Kevin came out. He identified what needed to be done in minutes. Two hours later, problem solved. I would highly recommend them.

Some time ago I witnessed work that Madden Sewer was doing installing a sump pump on another building in the neighborhood. Was so impressed with its work that I decided to give them a call regarding a seepage problem with my property.

An estimate was made and the work was eventually completed in a timely fashion.

I was not disappointed. The labor including a check for cracks, waterproofing, the inspection of the drain line, the installation of a channel drain, and new pipes.

The workers were absolutely wonderful. Superior workmanship and total attention to detail was clearly evident.

I needed a sewer evaluation after a basement flood. They were very busy with all of the rainy weather but were able to fit us in. They were attentive and professional and completed the job to my satisfaction.

Been using Madden for years. They aren't the cheapest but they come out and fix clogged pipes as scheduled. Then one day the main guy had to look into the catch basin and he tells me it needs to be rebuilt, which it did, bricks falling off of it and everything. A call is given to them for an estimate. Instead of giving an estimate I get a call that they are on their way to do the work. No, they are told. Right now we just want an estimate. So they fax over a written estimate. $6,000 to rebuild the bricks in the catch basin, rod out to the street, replace the collapsed pipe from the basement to the catch basin involving digging up some sidewalk, and divert the sink line into the catch basin to stop the water from seeping up through the cracks in the basement floor. It wasn't an emergency, so about a year went by until we said okay, we have the time and money now to do it, come out and do it. They demanded half up front. $3000. Which they were given. But apparently over the course of that year they forgot what the job entailed. They come out, don't rebuild the catch basin but merely do a cosmetic deal on it by just coating it with cement (who cares what it looks like, it's a pit covered by a manhole cover), they replace only four foot of pipe (how does that help when the rest of the pipe going from the basement to the catch basin is collapsed), and don't do anything AT ALL with the sink line as the original proposal stated, and then do a sloppy job replacing the cement in the basement that they sledgehammered out leaving an ugly, bumpy lump in the middle of the room. At the end of the job, which only took two and a half days, I told the guy we weren't happy and he needed to call my partner or else he wasn't going to get paid, but he refused to call her, even laughed about it and made a snide comment to me about my partner being my ""boss"". What they did wasn't even worth the $3000 paid up front (as a matter of fact, I don't even understand what the point of what they did was--no problem was solved by the work they did), so obviously we weren't going to pay ANOTHER $3000, but they insisted we owed them. Never sent anyone over to talk to us, to inspect the job, to find out what the problem was, just insisted we needed to pay them. Very sad that we don't use Madden anymore after all these literally decades of using them, but how can you use someone again after they try to rip you off like that? My suggestion is trust them for a simple rodding but for nothing major.
