Hired Madden Property Maintenance to complete next-day installation of 2 fans, a pendant and 2 semi flush mounts. During the quoting process, I advised two of the items were in challenging locations and provided photos - one in a vaulted ceiling and one in a vaulted ceiling over a set of stairs. The electrician sent out was very kind and competent, he brought his sister along for assistance, but did not have the ladder equipment needed to get the challenging job done traditionally, and left to go get different ladders which were still not tall enough. This resulted in some creative (& unnerving) rigging of ladders with bungee cords to get the job completed, and the creation of a wooden platform to mount on the stairs to create a flat surface for the ladder. Due to a flaw on my end (fan purchased was good for ""sloped"" ceilings...up to 30 degrees, mine was 45 degrees) the electrician had to do some custom cutting to the bracket to make the extension pole hang properly, which he did perfectly. Due to the ladder issues, challenging tasks and the mounting issue, an 8.5 hour day resulted in 3 lights mounted and good to go, one ceiling fan mounted but non working, and one ceiling fan not started/completed. Electrician was to come the next day to remedy remaining issues at agreed upon time of 8am. By 10:30am, the electrician was a no-show and I contacted the owner to cancel the remaining services advising we would be going another route. Owner was respectful/understand and apologetic. Had a taller ladder been on site from the get-go, I believe that the job could have been completed safely, in full & during the quoted 8 hours.
