We scheduled a plumber with AHS And they called on Macklin plumbing. Wow, little did I know Jerry, jerry is his name. Remember this name--jerry. He is not professional and very argumentative and condescending. Remember his name Jerry. Jerry wii argue with you. My hope iS AHS cancels them under their umbrella they use. They have no respect to include James the dispatch person. BLUF--the work was not completed and finally cancelled the job. Please don't be the next home owner to get the undeserving lip from this company. Jerry is so disrespectful and James is not far behind him too.

It took me a while to want to sit down and write this as I was not sure if it would help out anyone or not. Maclin was assigned to me through my warranty company. My hot water heater was leaking and needed to be replaced. I thought they were going to come out and fix it immediately instead they told me that they had to send the estimate in to the warranty company for approval. The warranty company called me back after a few days and told me that in addition to the water heater and what was covered that Macklin was claiming that it would cost an extra $1000 to fix the problem that was not covered by the warranty. They told the warranty company that the unit was not off the floor it was not in a closed off area and there was no vent. All of which was not true. I asked them to send out a different company for a new estimate and a new company came back with just the price of the water heater which the warranty company covered. Based on my experience I would say Maclin is a scam company, I know they tried to scam me. After this experience I read some of their other reviews for Maclin. It was not at all surprising about how many negative reviews they are getting. I was surprised about the positive ones however, but if you read them closely, they really do not jibe with the ones that are written by real people. Almost all of the ones there are good reviews you can tell by the style of writing are written by the same person or a bot that Maclin is paying to boost their ratings. One of the worst companies I ever dealt with!

They were assigned by my home warranty company. After waiting four days with no call, no email, no contact, I switched to another company. How can you be handed a customer and not at least reach out? Terrible

Replaced leaking hot water heater. After having the case for a week arrived and said that there would be an additional $300 charge to bring it up to Texas Code. There is no Texas Plumbing Code. I don't appreciate surprise charges at the last minute and being lied to. I will not be using this company again.

Called about some overflow valves. Technician confirmed the issue and told me he'd have to do some research regarding the parts needed and would get back to me.

They never got back to me. I looked it up online - it cost $10 and I went ahead and did it myself.

You hear about plumbers trying to embellish problems and cheat customers but you figure that doesn't happen anymore in the 21st century right? Wrong.

MacLin plumbing is not a good choice if you want a qualified plumber who knows what they are talking about and does what they say.

Called AHS for plumbing repairs. This is the first company to ever respond to service request within a few hours. Courteous phone rep contacted me and I was given a two-hour window for service the next morning. Repairman called before that window to say he was on his way and despite horrible weather arrived right away. The first punctual AHS maintenance visit I've received in 5 years. Polite, professional and quick to diagnose. Even more efficient on repairs (two of them). Went above and beyond to offer several extremely helpful homeowner maintenance steps. I would recommend this team to anyone. Super easy, stress free, and professional experience.

These guys were great. My water heater went out and we were assigned MacLin from American Home Shield.

They installed a new water heater and brought it up to code (I didn't have an expansion tank). It wasn't an easy task with my water heater in the attic in blazing heat.

Fast forward a few weeks. The pilot light went out and I couldn't get it to relight. Apparently that's a thing in super hot attic space. They responded to my second request for service and were able to get it to light right up (since the attic cooled off) and briefed me on keeping the air moving so it doesn't keep happening. I had no idea that was a thing. And they were patient with my lack of knowledge.

They supposedly replaced the pilot lamp on our water heater. Just 5 weeks later, the pilot lamp was off again. And guess what? They DO NOT guarantee their work. They wont come to fix their defective work. Dont use their services!!!

We had two separate leaks within a 2 week period. Was referred to MacLin Plumbing for a serious outside pipe leak. Jerry identified where the leak was & gave us an estimate. The leak was under the back deck. The crew finished correcting the problem within 3 hours and there was very little disturbance to the deck - which was remarkable. The cost was at the low end of the estimate. The next leak was with the hot water tank which is in a closet in the house. We belong to American Home Shield & they sent out a plumber. This plumber gave us some options for replacement but said some adjustments would be needed to accommodate the new tank. Both options were going to be expensive and involved a carpenter and possibly an electrician. I called MacLin & Matt gave me the cost which was $100 more than the first plumbers estimate without any adjustments! Very happy with the whole crew at MacLin & would use them for any plumbing issues!

One evening I heard water flowing in the bathroom sink. I just thought it was the air conditioner, however it was not. I used my home warranty repair company, ONEguard who sent a work order to MacLin. I got a call that morning that they would be out that afternoon. Jerry was kind, professional, knowledgeable. He knew right away what the issue was. The hot water was leaking into the slab. He made a new hot water heater valve so I didn't have to run out to the pump house to turn all the water off. I could still use the cold water. After I got another company to pull out the vanity, I scheduled Jerry and his coworker next available which was the next day. Unbelievable turn around time!! They showed up on time, professionally dressed, calm, worked great together. Walked through and explained what they did, etc. A LOT of work done in a few hours. Teamwork and extensive knowledge. I can't thank these guys enough. Highly recommended and I will use them again.
