{As the owner and manager of MacLellan Plumbing & Heating, I founded this company in 1985 with one truck, without actual location or facility and minimal experience of running a business. Over the years, I have pursued my education and now hold a master plumbing certification, a license for construction supervision, a home improvement contractor certification, and a sheet metal license. Our company has grown considerably over the years, and we now operate a fleet of 4 trucks, have 6 team members, and operate office and warehouse space. Numerous our customers have been with us since the beginning. My spouse and I run the office, and we are always available each day.

We lost our water heater all of a sudden in the middle of December. We called multiple plumbers, some we couldnt get a hold of and others couldnt get to us for a few days. Marty stopped by within a few hours and diagnosed the problem. He lent us a temporary water heater so we could have hot showers in the meantime. After a full day of work on a fairly large project (right before xmas) they were done and left the basement cleaner than when they arrived. The price was fair and they are taking care of the mass save rebate for me. I would certainly recommend these guys to anyone I know. Thanks again!
We originally hired MacLellan Plumbing and Heating to replace the main pipe in our cellar. We were so pleased with how everything went, that we hired them again to replace our heating systems in our 2 family home. Marty explained our options and answered all of our many questions.
Marty, Joe and their office staff were amazing. They installed two combination boiler and water heater systems in our home. Both Marty and Joe were very friendly, polite and always prompt. My sister and I always felt safe while they were there. From the moment they started everything they needed was set up, organized and ready to go. Each night our cellar was left neat and tidy. When the installs were complete, you would not have even known that we had work done.
The installs went seamlessly and within the stated time frame. Everything went so well that we will be hiring them again to move our laundry to the first floor.
Before they left we asked if they had time to check our stove to make sure it was working properly and to check our garbage disposal that was jammed. The disposal could not be fixed, so I asked if they could replace it when they come back to move our laundry. Marty said ""No, I have a new one in the van and I can install it before we go."" Amazing.
Thanks Denise and Marie
While their work was expertly done, they did not do anything I asked them to do. I have several corroded old gate valves I wanted replaced. They instead just added newer ball valves so now I have to shut off water to the whole house to work on one fixture and I still have corroded valves in the line that will eventually leak. Furthermore I have an old Symmons shower valve that was not working and I wanted totally replaced with a newer model to accommodate a family member with disability. I even ripped open drywall in the back wall for ease of access for them in advance. The're solution was to rebuild the old one with new parts, and is still not I also asked them to replace 2 old shut valves under the bathroom sink. While they did succeed in opening up the valves fully, I still have 2 valves under the sink that are almost impossible to turn unless you're a plumber, They didn't do a single thing I asked them to do and did only the work they wanted to do. In their eyes the customer is a moron.
Janet T.Marty and his crew are courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt. I have had several repairs by MacLellan Plumbing and all have been top shelf.
Having a company you can trust and who is prompt with appointments is a winning combination.
I have worked in the service industry for 35 years. I understand this industry and how one must make an unbelievable commitment to every job/customer to become successful business and remain successful business. The men and woman, from the ownership, to the direct service providers, to the billing staff of MacLellan Plumbing are the best in the business. I have had complicated plumbing needs, both at my home and at my business. For every event Marty MacLennan has been a hands on, honest and the consummate professional. The men that have worked at my home and business are expert, respectful, work quickly and confidently, clean up after themselves and follow up after the job, as does Marty. The bill is as quoted. If you use Yelp to select a Plumbing and Heating Contractor... You have found the perfect locally owned company. They are great and I enthusiastically recommend MacLellan Plumbing and Heating.
My review is not with the service provided when my bursted pipes were fixed but with how they added an additional hour of service fee. Prior to services i was told $135 and hour to fix the next morning versus more during the evening because it would be considered an emergency call. When i called and spoke with a womam named Diane at first she said it's noted 4 hours and gave the times. I said no, they left in 3 hours. Then she said well it includes time when they went to buy the products, i said sure but they did that during the 3 hours they were here. Then she said well minimum for emergency call is 4 hours, im like but it's not considered an emergency call, they came the next day in the morning. She then said well it's travel time to and from weymouth. I said weymouth to braintree isn't an hour! She said well weather was bad during the storms. I stood my ground and she took half an hour off my bill. I insisted i was never aware i had to pay for travel time but she wouldn't budge and said ""well this is what we charged, you should have asked"". Very bad business practice. I will be contacting business bureau about this.
Rachel B.I hired MacLellan Plumbing for the emergency pipe situation. It was coldest day of January and my water heater pipes bursted and flooding the garage. The local plumbers weren't interested to take on the job in the middle of the night but MacLellan Plumbing company received the emergency call and arrived my place within 30 minutes. I am so grateful for what they did, and they did a great job replacing the broken parts of the pipes. They couldn't cover up the hole they made through the garage ceiling, but since they promised to come back for the repair when they are less busy I am counting on that.
