We have had geothermal heating and cooling for the last 18 years. I have had other companies serviced my unit in the distant past, but since I switched to MacGregors, my unit is working great! Jim is the most proficient tech I have had and it is clear that he has a very good sense of working on geothermal heating and cooling units.

Called with after hours furnace problem and was told that they were not taking on new customers and because I was not a customer since 2014 I was no longer considered a customer. Emergency service is limited to customers with service contracts. Will be taking this company out of my recommendation list

Beware of the ripoff! My tech advised me it would be $500 max to do five things at my house. He was unable to do the biggest, most complicated one and left me with a bill of almost $700! Plus, one item was checking a toilet that ran continuously, and after he left I realized it didn't flush at all! He was at my house less than two and a half hours which means they charge almost $250/hour. I called two other plumbing companies and also talked to an independent plumber and all said the rate should be around $80/hour. The woman at the MacGregor office said they can charge UP TO $400/HOUR!! Anyway, I immediately put the charge in dispute on my credit card. PS - A painter at my house fixed the toilet!!

Called these guys for a furnace issue. On the phone they stated that a service call cost 80 Dollars and that it would need to be paid when the technician came. They were on site for 10 minutes and we received a bill for 175 Dollars to unplug a vacuum line. I've called 4 times and left messages for the lady that handles billing without receiving any response. Terrible customer service.

I was very please when Josh came to my home to do winter service on our furnace. He was on time and finished in good time. He took care not to track in dirt. We went across the street to our rental property and he serviced the furnace there and took care of a problem that could have caused damage to our furnace and put co2 in the house. Great job.

MacGregor's always does a great job. I needed assistance on a busy Friday in the summer when my husband was out of town, and didn't expect anyone to be able to show up until after 5. David was kind enough to arrive within just a few hours and fixed my plumbing problems very efficiently, eliminating the need for me to say the dreaded sentence to my husband, ""Honey, there's water in the basement.""

Had a 3 pm estimate appointment today for central or ductless air conditioning and no one showed. I left a message for the estimator. He called me back and said my home is too far for their team to serve me.

Just as I did when I ORIGINALLY arranged the appointment, I explained my location and misleading address. I am 15-20 minutes away from Macgregor's Charlevoix office. He then admitted that they do serve my address but, without even looking at my home, they won't be the cheapest and I'd be better off dealing with someone else. He said there will be a surcharge for the distance.

He was clearly trying to discourage me - and it was for a $3,500-4,000 job. I politely thanked him for calling me back and ended the conversation. I wish them the best of luck, but am totally disappointed and would not extend Macgregor's a second chance in the future no matter where my home is located.

MacGregor did the right thing in replacing an expensive part under warranty that was most likely damaged in a previous repair. It would have been easy to deny resposibility, but they showed the perfect example of honest customer service.

Chad was awesome!! He fixed the problems on the first trip out. He was extremely friendly and very professional. If it were possible, I'd request him every single time we have a problem.

Trust me, sign up for the maintenance contract. We've saved well over its cost over the years in fixed issues before they became disasters.

MacGregor has been our plumbing and heating company of choice for about 7 years. They do the job at reasonable prices and their staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Jim replaced our hot water heater last weekend (on a Saturday) and stuck with it until the job was done. Then he called on Sunday to be certain everything was okay. In the process of replacing the heater, he uncovered a potentially serious problem with the electric feed into our house (voltage spiking). We were able to call Consumers Energy to get is corrected. I would recommend MacGregor to anyone (and everyone!).
