So im a 40 year old disabled vet. Had mac 5 come out for electrical issue the tech was really nice honest guy. Showed me how getting a 2nd whole home surge protector wouldnt add any benefit. I did join the loyalty maintinance program. 2 free ac tune ups a plumbing tune up. Anyway the ac guys come the guy shows me my cold air return isnt enough the builder should have added a 2nd one. He quoted me 308 bucks with the veteran discount. I thought about it thats kinda high but getting on the floor causes me great back pain. So i decided ok go ahead I signed the work order which made it a valid contract. I get a call the morning of yea we cant send a tech out for a 300 dollar job theres bigger and better jobs out there for us. So he says it will be 832 bucks to cut a 20x20 hole in my wall and install a 30 dollar return grate. I called the Florida AG on them I guess I will be getting a check for my 199 bucks for the program I joined back. About to call my lawyer and see if I have a breech of contract here. I did the job myself in 30 min. An experienced tech can do it in under 15 min and they wanted 832 bucks. Im not done wirh these clowns. I didnt have a yelp acct so I couldnt see the reviews. On google they have a 4.9 yelp 2.4 wonder what shenannigans they are playing on google. Heads up Mac 5 you just wronged the wrong man. Since covid many companies have been screwing everyone over. I have dealt with many companies lateley not being ethical not upholding warranties playong games and just being total bums. Im disabled and dont have a job I have the time to protest on the sidewalk in front of your business. MAC 5 STIFFS VETERANS BREECHES CONTRACTS AND RIPS THEM OFF PRICE GOUGERS. I AM BED RIDDEN TODAY CUZ I HURT MY BACK HAVING TO DO A REPAIR THAT THE INTIAL 308 PRICE GOUGE WASNT ENOUGH FOR YOU YOU HAD TO GO FOR MORE. MY BACK WILL HEAL IN A FEW DAYS. WALMART HAS POSTERBOARD FOR A BUCK EACH MY PROTEST SIGNS MAYBE 2 POSTERBOARDS PER 6FT LONG 2X2 STICK 2 STICKS SOUND GOOD LOTS OF INFO FOR PEOPLE DRIVING BY TO SEE. SEE YOU GUYS NEXT WEEK. AND ITS PERFECTLY LEGAL TO PROTEST YOU PEOPLE ON PUBLIC PROPERTY!!!

Quick interaction/communication and a very professional service technician (Stephan). That is where the positives end, however. Felt like a total scam and their quote was WAY over what is reasonable for this work. Looking for a simple toilet swap out and they quoted almost $450 including haul-away (almost $300 without haul away). This is 30 min of work for a qualified technician. Company also provides a script to constantly try to upsell with needed add-on services. I would steer clear of this company, for any services.

Had a leak in the water line that supplies the toilet. MAC5 made the simple repair in less than 30 minutes and about $5 worth of parts. Charged $825!!!!!!! Crooks is the only fitting description. Numerous horror stories and complaints on BBB and they have been revoked by BBB. Beware of this crooked company.

Do not use this company I called them to fix a generator, asking time and time they service Champion generators--I was told by several people in the company they do Of course the tech came and had no clue about champion generators -he read the manual with me then told me to call Champion have them walk me through it I was told $39 to come out-I was billed $225 I called and they said they would refund it-instead they charged me a second time Run--don't walk--away from this company

I called and schedule an appointment for service on my a/c on 09/09/2022 early in the morning and spoke with a pleasant lady who then gave me a window time of 12-5 and we talked about a $50.00 promotion from the internet and was told there was a $79.00 fee just to show up and that fee would be waived if I agree to go ahead and let them perform the service suggested all was good until at 4:45 when I called again to see if I was still on schedule for that day and was told again by the pleasant young lady that i was still on schedule and would receive a call 30 to 45 min prior to the technician leaving his last job nothing was ever mentioned about there being a after hour emergency service fee for after hours so I continue waiting and again called to see if we where still on schedule and again was told yes and nothing else. At about 7:49 pm I got a miss call alert on my phone so i called back and it just rang and rang until I got a voice message saying the person was on another call so I called the office again and was told the technician was in route so I continue to wait and finally I received a call from the technician saying he was on the way, so after sometime after he shows up I meet him outside explain the problem and tell him i believe it's the capacitor so he goes into informing me that there's a $129.00 service fee for after hours emergency and I asked why since I had a 12-5 window and they were late and I was quoted a $79.00 service charge and about the $50.00 coupon and the $79.00 fee would be waived if I agree to complete the service to fix the a/c. So after agreeing to complete the job and 10 minutes to replace the capacitor he beings writing up the bill on his tablet and remembers to apply the $50.00 discount and hands me a bill for $317.00 without a break down of the service performed just stating that the capacitor and technician work performed. Now I'm not a genius but I'm also not the stupidest person as well and know a capacitor doesn't over $100.00 bucks so anyways I pay the bill keep the old on and looked it up and found several from $7.11 up to the highest costing $28.00 and Amazon had it for $14.00 which if I would of known I would of ordered it myself and installed as I mentioned at the beginning that I believed it was the capacitor. So after talking with the young lady the next day and asking for a member of management to call and ask to give me a better understanding of the bill, so as of today 09/16/2022 no call or anything from them. Beware of this company and get a better understanding of their window times if I had known of the after hours emergency charge ahead of time or it had been explained during my conversations with the office or technician I would of reschedule for a regular time... Never again there's no trust in these companies...

Technicians were professional. electrician, for a 5 min job and charge me $150.00 is unacceptable. Just had total knee replacement. if not I would have done it myself. The plumber wanted to charge $900 for installing a heat recirculating pump and i already had the part. Not even a hour job. top is off charge me another $800 to replace me faucets. smh... I'm not poor but these prices are way to much for simple handy man job. No thanks, i will look elsewhere.

I own a rental property that had a leak under the foundation. I went with Mac 5 because they were able to do address the problem that same week. The repair was actually to re-run all plumbing through the attic. They said it was a 1.5 day job for 2-people, but they book two days just to play it safe. For most of the first day there was only one person. Both people worked day 2. I didn't hear from them until almost 9:30 pm. They called and said I had to drive over, inspect the work (at night), and pay them right then. First, they shouldn't have been in the house working that late and keeping my tenants up. Second, they should have asked if that time was ok. They didn't. Instead, they demanded I pay them. I asked if I could simply inspect and pay the next morning. The worker asked if he could just get the tenant to sign on my behalf, I emphatically said no! He said he wanted to call his boss to get his input, then would call me right back. Within 2 minutes, while I was still waiting for the call back, I got a text from my credit card company. They had charged me $4500 without permission. And the only reason they had my CC number was because I used it for the $100 initial inspection, with no intention of paying with a CC. I don't have a high limit and that charge exceeded it. It went through, but blocked my card all the following weekend. They promised the dry wall cuts would be minimal and implied it would be just around the faucets. Well, there were literally 20 holes all throughout the house, some of the holes were 5 feet wide. The drywall damage was extensive. They even cut into a textured ceiling for no apparent reason. They moved an outside spigot 30 feet away to a different location. In addition to the drywall mess, I had 5 issues that I wanted either addressed or explained. It took 4 days before they would return my call. They finally sent a person out to fix only one items, he didn't even seem aware of the other 4. So, if you want poor workmanship, someone to illegally charge your credit card, and not return your calls, then I highly recommend Mac 5.

Their technician showed up on time and gave a fair estimate. He pointed out that some of my attic duct work had reached its life span and he would be glad to service them but they would need to replaced in the year. We decided not to clean them and get them replaced this winter. We are in the process of getting estimates and bids now.
